The Meat Is In The Greek: Spirtual Knowledge ( A Google Document )

“One is the Loneliest Number That You’ll Ever Do”

Ro 6:10  For in that He died, He died unto sin once (ephapax) ; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

1Co 15:6  and that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once (ephapax)  of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some have fallen asleep.

Heb 7:27  who needeth not, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice daily first for his own sins and then for the people’s; for this He did once (ephapax) when He offered up Himself.

Heb 9:12  neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, entered in once (ephapax) into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Heb 10:10  By this will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once (ephapax) for all.

There are few Biblical words more formidable than the Greek (Ephapax).

This little word appears only five times in the NT.

The enigma of Ephapax is that though its Biblical significance is staggering,  it is ignored by the reader due that its English counterpart is the little word, “once.”

Once is one.  We don’t want one, we want many.  When our eyes survey “one” or “once” it insignificant, unimportant.

As those prophets of old , Three Dog Night once sang,  “One is the Loneliest Number That You’ll Ever Do.”

Shortly after marriage to my beloved Mary, she became by default, a New Testament widow. I say this tongue and cheek, of course.

I received a calling from God right after our vows to learn New Testament Greek. For every birthday and Christmas I requested Greek reference books. Mary could never surprise me! In our early wed days, she’d watched TV, and  I’d be hiding in our bedroom poring over Greek grammar, cases and tenses.

The revelation knowledge of the Word which sets us free was hyperbolically heightened to me in the Greek. Once I learned to read in Greek I have never gone back to English. It’s like comparing Filet Mignon to ground turkey.

I tell all my readers that if they truly want to become free in Christ, learn some NT Greek. Now it’s all free in the free Bible programs.  There is no excuse not to become a Greek NT scholar if you want to.

Ro 6:10  For in that He died, He died unto sin once (ephapax) ; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

But this lonely word Ephapax ; “at once, all at once, and once and for all” is colossal to the work of Christ. If I did not know Greek, Ephapax would have been One is the Loneliest Number That I’ll Ever Do.

Ro 6:10  For in that He died, He died unto sin once (ephapax) ; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

When Christ died for sin, it was “at once, all at once, and once and for all”.

What does that signify to us?  When Christ died on the cross, the Christian died with Him.

To be born again is to be placed In Christ. Think of yourself, a piece of paper, stuck in a book. The book is Christ.  Being born again is to be stuck inside the pages of the book. If the book is dropped you are dropped because you are inside the book. When the book is picked from the floor, so are you, because you are inside the book.  When Christ died you died. Thus you have entered inside His death. A dead man cannot be sick, neither can he sin. The death of Christ set us free from the sin producing nature which generates all this junk. Now mind you, the sinful habits stay. This is where your mind’s renewal comes in. But it’s an undisputable historical fact that you are dead. A corpse is free! Epahapax!

Ro 6:10  For in that He died, He died unto sin once (ephapax) ; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

When Christ died for sin, it was “at once, all at once, and once and for all”.

At once you died with Christ, all at once, or every part of you at once died, and once and for all you died. No more is needed. At once on the cross, all parts of you at once, and once and for all for eternity died, you are free. If you think  that you are still dying, you won’t become free. Ephapax!

Heb 7:27  who needeth not, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice daily first for his own sins and then for the people’s; for this He did once (ephapax) when He offered up Himself.

When Christ offered up Himself for your sins, it was “at once, all at once, and once and for all”.

Again, you are free from sin because of Epaphax.

2Co 5:21  For He hath made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be made the (a) righteousness of God in Him.

Not “the righteousness” but “a righteousness.”

The righteousness of God is the invisible perfections of God made visibly manifested. We are as healthy, as perfect, as holy, as free, and as glorious as God is. Of course we will not see  it completely in this life, but we certainly can make a dent into this new life now.

Ephapax; dead to sin, alive to righteousness.

Heb 9:12  neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, entered in once (ephapax) into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Christ entered into the Holy of Holy’s (ephapax): “at once, all at once, and once and for all”.

Because of this, you are not only guaranteed eternal life, but eternal life in a glorious and free body.  Redemption is the purchase price paid for the liberation of a salve. For you, it was the slavery to sin. The purchase price for your liberation was the blood of Christ.  You have been bought not with things that will perish such as silver and gold, but with the most precious blood of The Lamb without spot and wrinkle. Ephapax.

Heb 10:10  By this will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once (ephapax) for all.

Righteousness is the product of sanctification. We are as perfect, as free and whole as God Himself, because we are His righteousness. Righteousness has been attained because we have been sanctified through the offering of Christ’s body on the cross. Ephapax.

So when in doubt “Ephapax”!

Don’t despise small things, or small beginnings. Don’t think of “once” or “One is the Loneliest Number That You’ll Ever Do,” in a bad way.

“ One” Three Dog Night

One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It’s the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you’ll ever know
Yes, it’s the saddest experience you’ll ever know
`Cause one is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
One is the loneliest number, worse than two

It’s just no good anymore since she went away
Now I spend my time just making rhymes of yesterday

One is the loneliest, number one is the loneliest
Number one is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
One is the loneliest, one is the loneliest
One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
It’s just no good anymore since she went away
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do

For Your Eyes Only

Re 1:8  “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Re 4:8   The four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within. They have no rest day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!”

Re 11:17  saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned.

Re 19:6  I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns!

Re 19:15  Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword, that with it he should strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He treads the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty.

The term Almighty is derived from two Greek words, “All dominion or all dominating.”

Dominion is the power or right of governing and controlling; it is the privilege of  a sovereign;  one who governs, dominates, and rules.

God, as the Almighty dominates, and controls every aspect, and in all things which are not of Him.

This then is the identity of the Christian.  She has been given a co sitting on the throne of Christ.  From this sitting position she exercises authority and faith over the works of God.

The identity of the Christian is the identity of a king. The old identity of who she was is long gone, buried, decomposed, becoming one with the dust, and obliterated out of sight.

The identity of the Christian is one who is an almighty or an all dominating.

The believer is not the Almighty.  Because Christ is her identity, however, she is an almighty over the works of God by the voice of the Spirit in her.

Ge 41:37  The thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

Pr 20:8 A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.

1Ch 21:23  Ornan said to David, “Take it for yourself, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes. Behold, I give the oxen for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meal offering. I give it all.”

2Ch 14:2  Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of Yahweh his God:

A king does what seems good in his eyes.

A king administers dominion with the shifts in the look of the eyes.

Do we decree with our eyes, and it’s done?

Our eyes have become Jesus’s eyes. Our authority is Jesus ability.

Can we scatter evil with the look of our eyes? Do we beckon the good with a glance of the eyes? Do we pronounce a verdict of judgment on the evil with a piercing gaze of the eyes?

Re 1:14  His head and his hair were white as white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire.

Re 2:18 To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write: The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like burnished brass, says these things:

Re 19:12  His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has names written and a name written which no one knows but he himself.

This is Christ’s identity. This is our identity.

A king can simply rule with his eyes. This is the definition of real authority.

This is for your eyes only, if you have the eyes of Almighty Jesus.

Lest Satan Should Get an Advantage of us

2 Timothy 2:26  And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Greek: That they may return to soberness or awake out of the snare of the devil, after having being hunted down, taken captive, and caught alive by the devil, to do his will.

The devil is always actively hunting to “catch alive” by trapping our free will and make it to become passive, so that his will in us can then become active.  (This is always His work with believers and non-believers)

1 Peter 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Be temperate dispassionate and serious in your life, be awake and watchful, because your opponent in a suit of law, the devil, (to thoroughly cast, throw, or hurl) as a roaring lion, conducts himself around, arduously and earnestly seeking, whom he may drink down, swallow, consume, and destroy.

Eph 4:27  Neither give place ( topon)to the devil.

Topon:  opportunity, power, occasion for acting

Another version renders “giving place”, as our construction of a landing strip, or an airport runway on our very being, for the devil to land upon!  Only our sin and disobedience can do that.  Any time that we are in willful disobedience to the Lord, we automatically open up an airport on our very backs, where the enemy can land and take off at his personal whims and fancy!

Ephesians 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Many of us imagine that Ephesians chapter two is Paul’s discussion focusing on unbelievers.  I tend to disagree.

The Greek word for worketh is defined as giving energy to.

This particular verse is in the present participle.  Simply speaking it signifies that the sons of disobedience energize the schemes or plans of the devil on a continuous basis. The word for disobedience is being non-compliant.

If a Christian is continually incompliant in an area of his or her life, will he or she energize the works of the devil? I believe that there is no difference; the devil is a legalist.  He will always get in wherever he is given an open door.

 Romans 1:28  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Greek ( paraphrase): Because they did not like to acknowledge God in their thinking as someone that is more precious and valuable than the finest of metals after having an opportunity to do so, God decreed their thinking as failing the test given to a fine metal, rendering their thinking unfit, and worthy only to be rejected and cast away to do those things which are inappropriate.

This is what has happened to America. As I say, we don’t have an economic or political problem. In fact, we have a God problem and a sin problem. We have become a Theosphobic or Christophobic nation.

Mat 12:43  When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

He travels continually throughout differing arid places “seeking a cessation of his now unpleasant circumstances” (because he has been cast out of the man), and in no way finds it (showing the necessity the demons have to possess a living being).

44  Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

I will return into my house whence I came out, and having come, finds it vacant and occupied, and in a perfected state of being swept, and cosmetically adorned.

John 14:30  Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

In John chapter fourteen we find Jesus discussing about His soon to come confrontation with Satan through the hands of Judah, and his later arrest and crucifixion.  In all certainty, the words of Jesus are more emphatic in the Greek.  In His own words He says, “The prince of the cosmos comes, and it is impossible for him to have even have the tiniest connection with me.”

To effectively cast out the enemy, our self-lives must be dead, and the presence of the Lord must permeate our being.  An authentic casting out of the enemy is only completely executed when he finds no more places within, or without us, to touch us, or to afflict us.

Please see below that Jesus claimed that the devil had nothing in Him.  This is an authentic situation where the devil has been cast out! This is the true meaning of binding, or of not permitting the enemy any legal ground because of a holy and free life.

Eph 6:13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

We are encouraged here to take the whole armor of God and having done all to stand, to stand therefore.  “Having done all” is the word “katergazomai.’   Simply stated, “having done all, to stand,” is wonderfully depicted by the cartoons of the coyote and the roadrunner.  In one of their many scuffles, as a ball of dull is kicked up, both of these guys always got lost in their dusty fights.  When the dust finally settles, the roadrunner usually remained standing.  This is exactly what it means to “having done all, to stand.”!  We must fight by the Spirit without compromise, or without discouragement, until we remain standing victoriously; as Satan, sin and the world lay scattered at our feet in full visibility, once our ball of dust finally settles!

The command is to carry out all things to a complete victory!

Philippians 2:12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

The word for working out in Philippians two is exactly the same Greek word as “having done all” found in Ephesians chapter six.

Here Paul commands us to work out, carry out, and carry out absolutely everything to completion that pertains to our salvation and that with utmost serious cautiousness.

The verb tense is in the present middle, which simply means that the work must be our own.  Salvation never comes out magical passivity, laziness, pew sitting, and disobedience.

We must hear and find out what the Holy Spirit tells us to do, but the activity must be ours, and it must be constant and in perfect agreement with the voice of the Spirit through the rhema word of God.

1 Cor 5:8  Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

2Cor 1:12  For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

2 Cor 2:17  For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ

In the above-mentioned three verses, we see that the word sincerity has within its root the word for “sun” in the Greek.  The Greek word sincerity is defined as being “judged by the sun”.  Only a life of purity before the Lord will make us into a clear windowpane by which the rays of the sun or “The Son” can shine through.  An impure life will make us into a dirty piece of glass through which the image of the Lord can hardly be seen.

If the enemy cannot see the sunlight of the Son of God, he shall not leave us alone until the day and the time that he does, and if he does.  Remember our enemy, the devil, is the greatest legal lawyer that this universe will ever see, apart from God Himself.  He will claw and cleave for every inch of us that has not pass by death into resurrection.

Mat 6:9  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

I command that your name be venerated and held in honor on earth exactly in the same way, measure, and manner as it is in heaven.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Come thy kingdom!  Done be thy will!  Exactly in the same measure and way as it is executed in heaven so be it upon the earth.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

·We command that the bread of our necessity, or the bread that suffices for the day, be given to us today.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And release or dismiss from us our debts to the same measure that we release and dismiss our debtors. This is why unforgiveness is such a bad thing.

13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

And lead us not into a place where we can be tempted beyond our strength causing us to do what is evil.

Matthew 26:28  For this is my blood of the new (the freshness of something new)  testament, (covenant) which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Shed Means to pour out lavishly and abundantly. The blood of Christ is poured out for us in this way.  I say, is poured out, rather than saying was poured out, because the verb tense is in the present.

In Mark 14:24 and Luke 22:20, the Lord, likewise, uses this same present tense.  What was going through the mind of Jesus when He described a future event in the present?

The New Covenant can only support its eternal “newness” through the blood, which is eternally poured out to keep it new.  The question for you and me is, what happens when we start to disobey and fail to keep covenant with the Lord?  The blood of Christ is found only in the New Covenant.  If we willfully move out from the confines of the New Covenant in disobedience, the blood is not available and we will stay in the archaic condition of bondages and sins.

The next scripture, First John 1:7 follows the same train of thought.

Matthew 26:28  For this is my blood of the new (the freshness of something new)  testament, (covenant) which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Remission – Remission is defined as the sending away of something. The blood belonging to the New Covenant constantly sends away sins as we fulfill our obligations with the covenant through obedience.  Wherever we step out of covenant, “the blood that sends away,” will not be present.

Luke 22:20  Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

Luke twenty-two and twenty is a very powerful scripture.  In my blood is in the Greek “dative case of location.”   Let me explain this fancy terminology to you. Where do you and I live?  We live on the earth or are located in the earth.  Because we are located in the earthly world we are affected by, and are part of everything that belongs to the world.  The New Covenant is located in the blood, or more accurately in the world of the blood of Jesus.  All that the blood of Jesus accomplishes affects everything in the New Covenant.  As long as we maintain ourselves in covenant with the Lord, we automatically live inside of the world of the blood of Jesus Christ.  Wow!

Our uncompromising obedience to the Lord is our safety and protection from the devil, and our cleansing from all sin and bondage.  You and I plea the blood of Jesus daily, and rightfully so.  It is vital to claim the blood, especially before the devil.   More powerful though is to live constantly inside the world of the blood of Jesus as we keep covenant with the Lord.

As I was sharing this revelation with my wife Mary the Lord gave her a two-fold picture. The first part of the picture was that of the believer traveling through one of the Lord’s arteries as he or she kept obedience to the Lord.

The second part of the picture was similar to the kid’s TV show, “The Magic School Bus.”  In some of its episodes, the teacher, Miss Frizzle and her class, ride in the magic school bus, which becomes small and traverses through the blood vessels of a human body.  The Lord showed Mary that the magic school bus is the rhema word of God with us inside traveling through the Lord’s veins as we obey it.

Romans 8:26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Helpeth our infirmities- The Greek tells us that the Holy Spirit comes face to face with us to take a hold together with us of our infirmities and frailties.

The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us – Greek: “To hit the target above and beyond what is normal.”  I.E. “to do the right thing and do it with skill.”

The intercessory ministry of the Holy Spirit, as He comes to take a hold of our weaknesses, is to give us the breakthroughs, answers, and deliverances that we need with bull’s eye accuracy.

2Co 2:11  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Lest Satan exploit us, for we are not without knowledge of his schemes.

The word devices for schemes is “noema”, or thoughts. The devil has a big thought life which he can interject into an individual’s mind. Thus we must be led by the voice of the Holy Spirit in our spirits, our minds submitted to that voice. A mind doing its own thing independent of the voice of God is  target practice for the devil’s own thought life. The devil cannot interject thoughts into the spirit of a person if the Holy Spirit dwells there.

The problem with westernized nations which live under deception of being self-sufficient apart from God and the pride themselves in being opinionated, is the ability for the devil to interject many of his noemas. So we see the outcome of Europe and hopefully not America.

“My Meeting With Roberto Clemente; An Immortal of Baseball”

For some of you who read this entry, you’ve never heard of Roberto Clemente.

Roberto played major league baseball when I was in my teens with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Roberto was born in Puerto Rico. He was one of the best hitters to grace the game, a true giant of the sport.

In a career that spanned seventeen years, Clemente consistently hit over .300.  His life time batting average was an amazing .317, one of the highest in baseball.

He also had one of the strongest throwing arms in history. I watched him nail a runner crossing home plate with a straight throw in the air from the right field corner. For his outfield expertise Roberto won twelve consecutive Golden Glove Awards.

In 1973 he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Clemente was also known as the guy with the back problems who always complained.

So this is where my story begins.

It was Christmas 1972.  I was a freshman at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. My folks lived in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, in the Caribbean Sea.

I had flown from Nashville to Miami and spent several days with my then living grandparents.  Now, I was heading to St. Croix for the holidays via Puerto Rico.

In those days there were no terrorists and no TSA.

As my grandparents walked me to the Eastern Airlines gate, I was greeted by a bunch of activity.  Countless reporters, with camera bulbs flashing preyed upon someone. “Roberto” this and “Roberto” that was all I could hear in the uproar of shouting.

I discovered that the immortal Roberto Clemente was on my flight. Like me, he was heading out to Puerto Rico for Christmas.

The flight was packed.

Someway, somehow, they had no space for me in economy. The Eastern Airlines agent asked if I’d mind being bumped up to first class. Who would mind? LOL!

I took my place next to the window, the seat to my right empty.

One of the last passengers to get on was Roberto Clemente. The interviews at the gate had prolonged his entry into the airplane. I could not believe it when he sat next to me.

“Hello, I am Roberto Clemente” he extended his hand out and shook mine.

“Yes, I know”, I muttered weakly, and shook his.

When the flight took off we began to talk. I was not a Christian. As a matter of fact in that year of 1972, I had begun a ten-year journey with pot and hash which caused me to hit rock bottom and find Jesus Christ.

Shortly after takeoff a reporter came up to Clemente; “Roberto, what about your contract for next year?”  Clemente brushed him off. He did not want to talk baseball.

Looking back, I know that God spoke to me, though I did not recognize Him.

I thought that it was me, but no, it was Him.

“Everybody is always talking to Clemente about baseball. I am not going to talk to him about it. Let me ask him questions about his family,” I thought.

So I asked Roberto about his family and what he was going to do for Christmas.

This initiated an almost three hour nonstop conversation all the way to San Juan.

From brown shopping bags Clemente pulled gift after gift for family and friends. He proudly opened the boxes and displayed them. I will never forget the laminated spikes for rooster fights. I think that the man was into cock fighting, very popular in Puerto Rico.

With excitement Clemente unveiled what he purchased for his wife and kids.

He then went to talk about his continual challenges with his back and the lady who tended to it during the season.

We never once talked baseball.

I remember Roberto Clemente as one of the nicest persons ever.

When our flight landed, I was told that my connecting flight to St. Croix had been sold out and I could not leave until the following day. Roberto was a representative for Eastern Airlines. He got me a free room at the Isla Verde Airport Hotel.

In retrospect, my encounter with Roberto Clemente was the gospel of Jesus Christ. His gospel is the gospel of love. It’s the gospel of friendship. It’s the gospel of the listening ear and genuine interest for neighbor. It’s the gospel of putting the other first and yourself last.

The incredible longing that this colossal of baseball had to share his family’s treasures, makes me think that he did not have many to share them with.

Roberto Clemente for most was the Hall of Famer, the batting champion, the Golden Glover par excellence. But for few, I think, he was Roberto Clemente, the man, the loving husband, and proud father.

The world is ready for Jesus. Not the churchy Jesus. Not the Jesus who judges or condemns, for that is not Jesus. People are looking for authenticity, the real person, and the true friend.

What I thought was a huge schism between conservatives and liberals is really more a figment of my imagination. People are the same everywhere, whether liberal or conservative. Everybody speaks the language of love, of wanting to be accepted and listened to.  Most political schisms melt into nothing when I love people like Jesus loves them.

Needless to say, I can’t ask Roberto Clemente how his wife and kids liked their gifts. One week after meeting him Roberto died in an airplane crash.  Not just as a giant in baseball but in life, he was flying supplies to victims of a devastating earthquake in Nicaragua. His plane went down off Puerto Rico.

As a kid of eighteen I was devastated, traumatized and stunned by the news.

Today, I thank the God whom I did not know, for the privilege of meeting Roberto Clemente. I think that God unknowingly used me as one of the last people apart from family to talk with Roberto Clemente, as the man, and not the baseball player, before his sudden departure from us.  I think that all along this is what Roberto Clemente really wanted.

So Quit Being Dumbed Down!

Many a time God will sacrifice the material to produce the spiritual.

We Christians press God for a wife or a husband. We want a promotion in employment or an open door to ministry. We become upset with God, depressed with circumstances, or envious of a neighbor who owns what we want.

It is difficult to understand the mind of God. Quite often He works opposite to us.

We want the thing now: “Lord gives me a better job!”

“Lord, I’m tired of being single, bring me a husband.’”

“Jesus what about my ministry?”

As we mandate from God, He gently tells us, “Get to the level of spiritual maturity that can handle what you want and I’ll open the door to you.”

The only thing that really matters is our spirit man. It is the spirit man that will last forever. It is in our spirit that the Holy Spirit lives. The devil can inject lying thoughts into our minds and emotions, but the spirit is impenetrable.

A human being is spirit, soul and body.  In a spiritual Christian, her spirit becomes the strongest, the most dominant part of her. The soul of the Christian, made up of the mind, will, and emotion must be submitted to the voice of the Holy Spirit in her spirit. The submitted soul then pulls the physical body to obey God’s voice.

Because God knows that the key to victory lies in conducting our lives by the leading of the Holy Spirits in our spirits, He will sacrifice the material, the carnal, to develop and manifest the spiritual.

The cross of Christ is God’s lone surgical instrument to can carry out this. When Jesus tells the Christian to pick up her cross and follow Him, He commands her to pick up the instrument of death. The cross was a place for murderers to die upon.

The cross of Christ cuts, slices, and destroys the carnal habits in our soul and flesh, causing them to die, so that the spirit can emerge strong and governing of the rest of our body.

With every act of obedience to a prompting of the Holy Spirit, the cross of Christ will root out carnal habits and will cause the spirit to emerge and manifest in power and freedom.

It is no wonder that the devil deceives the church to not to teach on the cross.  The hyper grace message of blessings, the “Love Wins” theology, the prosperity message, or even Face Book and Twitter will never produce healthy and sound Christians if the cross of Christ is not central.

The devil is more than happy to tempt us in becoming spiritual mall Christians shopping for churches by worship service types, children programs, and tailored preaching styles, as long as we are oblivious to the cross.

He will accommodate us with the latest models of smart phones, reality shows, or I pads, if it will distract us from understanding and embracing the cross.

The devil knows well that the only route to his defeat is by the voice of the Spirit in our spirits. If we try to overthrow him by our mental plans or emotional strategies, he will whip us every time. No wonder people see the church as irrelevant to them. The church is to be salty and make the world thirsty for God. We are to challenge it to something greater than what it has.  If if we are not salty, because our spirit man is not manifest by the cross, the world finds us boring, and rightfully so.

The sword of God’s Spirit, is the voice of God in our spirits. It is only the sword of God which defeats the devil. If our spirits do not become the strongest part of us, the devil has us licked. He is more than happy to indulge us with all things entertainment and technology.  He knows that our fascination with these will draw us away from the work of obedience and the cross of Christ which will manifest the Holy Spirit in our spirits and whip him.

The work of the cross is difficult and exacting. It takes time and intimacy with the Lord, the study of the Word, and continuing obedience to the voice of the Spirit.

Four G networks, I Seven processors, mega rams, mega pixels, and blinding fast speeds are all good, if we know that God does not work like this. He is not the God of shortcuts.

Freedom in Christ and the power of God through our manifested spirit man, occur gradually with assiduousness and devotion to the Lord. If the devil can dumb down the church’s mind with technology’s lust for speed and shortcuts and apply this to its relationship to God, he will make it ineffective against him.

The devil is a conspirator par excellence. There are global human forces of evil which the devil manipulates. These forces never sleep. They are highly conspiratorial.  They work towards producing a one world governmental system through which the anti-Christ will materialize.

The devil has succeeded in dumbing America down with technology and entertainment, so if anyone questions what are these forces doing they are crucified as conspiracy theorists. One must be a conspiracy theorist, at least in part, to understand the mind of the devil.

Meanwhile the devil continues to conspire against a nation which is asleep on the pillow of technology and who becomes angry if awakened to be told that the devil is conspiring against her.

Personal and opinionated rights are another goodie which the devil delights in having.   In Christians, the issues of un yielded rights are a great hindrance to freedom. Truly the Christian is a bond slave of the Lord. His only right is the right to obey and serve God.

Meekness is not weakness. Meekness is the product of a life of yielded rights to God. The opposite of meekness is anger. Many a time when we see an angry Christian, we see somebody who refuses to yield his rights in obedience to God. He has drawn a line in the sand to God. “God”, he says, “I refuse to obey you in this and that.” If God urges him to surrender, terrible anger arises. A bad temper is a precursor to unyielded rights.

This kind of believer will never be free. Freedom comes in proportion to our yielding our rights to God. No wonder that Jesus said that the meek will inherit the earth. God wants to give us everything, in proportion to how much we yield to Him, so that our spirits can emerge strong and victorious, and He can trust us with more and more.

The danger in America is that it’s a nation who values opinions, howbeit them be right or wrong, and personal rights which trump the rights to worship and serve God. This is the definition of arrogance. The devil jumps up and down with glee at how blind he has made us.

As along as a country finds its own rights more essential than the right to serve and worship its creator it remains blind, following the devil’s dance path.

When our spirits emerge however dominant we are manifested in the glorious liberty and power of Christ. This is what scares the devil. But if he succeeds in distracting the church through the charms of technology and entertainment, he promotes weak and bound Christians who are no match for him, since they don’t function from their spirit man.

He has succeeded in dumbing down America, even as we speak. I am a believer that if the antichrist would now appear, most of America would follow him.

Bu the keys are in the hands of the church. We must take the lead in this country and if we do, many will follow the Christ whom we manifest from our spirit man.

If I be lifted up, in your spirit man, says the Lord, I will draw all men unto me.

So, quit being dumbed down!
