“A Jell-O Forehead”

Ezekiel 3:4  And He said unto me, “Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with My words unto them.

5  For thou art not sent to a people of strange speech and of a hard language, but to the house of Israel,

6  not to many people of strange speech and of a hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

7  But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee, for they will not hearken unto Me; for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

8  Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

9  As an adamant, harder than flint, have I made thy forehead. Fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.”

In chapter three, Ezekiel receives God’s prophetical calling.  God instructs him  that he would not be sent to a land far away, but would preach to his very own Jewish people.

The Lord furthermore tells Ezekiel not to fear their backbiting comments and arrogant gazes.  He has made the prophet’s forehead harder than adamant, and harder than theirs.

Adamant is a stone, a gem. It is denoted as tougher in quality than a diamond.

There is no material than can scratch the surface of a diamond, yet the diamond  scratches anything. It is considered as the most hardened of nature’s elements. Yet, the surface of the adamant can be more impenetrable or indurated than the diamond’s.

A person’s forehead communicates many things.

An erect face and forehead is a sign of confidence, determination and purpose.

Look at Luke’s description of Jesus.

Lu 9:53  And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

A downcast face portrays depression or defeat. Eyes which can’t look at you articulate either insecurity, rejection or dishonesty.

A bull pushes with his forehead.

An individual crushed in spirit hangs his forehead in shame.

God gave me these verses right after my salvation in 1979 as I sat in an empty church.

These words rang loud and true in my spirit. In thirty years it has proven to be one of most dynamic of prophecies.

Back then however, these words appeared as an illusion, a hallucination, or a figment of imagination.

I had been a severe stutterer since I was four.  Rejection, insecurity, terror, and panic were my friends.  I knew nothing else.

I was still on drugs and booze.

I couldn’t speak to three people at a time. I would flee from a ringing phone.

I had the most frail of foreheads. I couldn’t look at anybody in the eye because of the speech impediment.

Like Moses I said, “Who me?”

Thirty  years later, these words have come to pass.

My wife and I do international Bible conferences. I can speak to any number of people. I rarely show recognizable signs of a speech impediment.

The telephone which was my greatest foe, is now a good friend.

I am able to lovingly confront anybody in the midst of an misunderstanding.

I treat the most insignificant and the most famous person equally.

I don’t back down from a challenge as long as I know that God is in it.

Truly God has given me a hard forehead. All glory goes to God and the work of his Holy Spirit.

God, many times, will take an individual’s greatest fears, or weaknesses, his handicaps and flaws and turn them into unconquerable attributes. I’ve seen this so often. This is how He glorifies Himself.

When I see a glaring weakness or handicap when counseling, I tell the person that God will probably raise him  to be just the opposite.

So today, look at your own life.

What is your greatest fear? What is that pesky bondage that you can’t overcome?  What is the handicap that is a thorn to  your side?

If you are truly obedient  to God, He will raise you up to do just the contrary, and probably through many great feats.

Don’t lose hope. Remember me. God gave me a diamond forehead for one of Jell-O.

Who Is The Most Powerful Person On the Planet

Ro 4:5  But to him that worketh not, but believeth in Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, ( the rightness of God)

The law of faith found inside of Christ Jesus returns the rightness (righteousness) of God.

It makes creation as right as it was before the introduction of sin.

Its God’s reset switch.

The culmination of this law climaxes in eternal type of life.

It is one of the universe’s most potent laws.

It superseded the laws governing nature with Moses.

Jos 10:13  And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

It superseded the laws governing the rotation of the earth with Joshua.

2 King 6:5  But as one was felling a beam, the ax head fell into the water; and he cried and said, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed!”

6  And the man of God said, “Where fell it?” And he showed him the place. And he cut down a stick and cast it in thither, and the iron did swim.

It superseded the law of gravity with Elisha.

This law is best exercised by the saint when he finally settles down to sit on the throne with Christ Jesus.

This experimental reality is manifested when the saint has experienced death, burial, coming  back to life, being resurrected, and received into heaven to naturally live in heavenly places, and there, to finally assume the sitting position of ruling with Christ on His throne, in these heavenly places.

Re 3:21  To him that overcometh, will I grant to sit with Me on My throne, even as I also overcame and am set down with My Father on His throne.

The saint sits when he has defeated the warring factions of sinful habits and the attacks of the devil which come to him as lies.

The sitting is the right of the conqueror.

Heb 1:2  hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed Heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds.

3  He is the brightness of God’s glory and the express image of His person, upholding all things by the word of His power. When He had by Himself purged our sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

When the saint sits, he does so to receive the appointment of heir of all things , just as Christ did.

The inheriting and ruling is exercised by the law of faith.

The law of faith is only effective when  used in conjunction with what the Holy Spirit wills.

The law of faith is employed by the saint on the throne to inherit, in matters personal, matters of the nation, matters of finances and heath, and even political matters.

The saint on the throne, who  engages the law of faith to return the rightness of God in all matters, is the most powerful person on the planet.

Christ In You the Prototype and Archetype of Creation

Col 2:9  For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

The apostle Paul states that in or inside of Christ lives the Godhead.

The Godhead is the relationship which the Father and the Son enjoy and is manifested by the Holy Spirit.

Because Christ lives in the Christian, the Godhead, and its activity, exists in him or her.

1Jo 1:3  that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

The Apostle John declares that the Christian’s fellowship or association is with the Godhead itself.

It is essential then, for the Christian to comprehend a bit of what are the roles of The Father and the Son within the Godhead as they relate with each other in him or her.

Understanding the functions of these two Persons, who are untied as one with the third Person, the Holy Spirit, is critical to the abundant Christian life.

The following scriptures describe some of the functions of The Son within the Godhead.

Joh 1:3  All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

Col 3:11  where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, slave or freeman, but Christ is all things in all.

Col 1:16 for in Him is all created, that in the heavens and that on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or sovereignties, or authorities, all is created through Him and for Him,

Col 1:17  And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

Inside of Christ dwells all creation. The vastness of this, mere human mind cannot fathom. Let’s simplify it a bit.

Every blueprint, schematic and pattern of all things which God the Father has created dwells in Christ. Sin has temporarily marred part of God’s creation. Yet, the unmarred and unflawed originals, the prototypes and archetypes, the models, blueprints, and schematics of God’s perfect creation dwell in Christ.

God is a God of blueprints or patterns. In the book of Revelation we see the Ark of the Covenant in the heaven. This heavenly ark represents the prototype and archetype of the perfect ark.

The great work of the church is to duplicate through examples and copies on the earth, the original and unflawed archetypes and prototypes of God’s objects in the heavens.

This was the greatness of Moses’, whose ministry was devoted to building on earth the examples and copies of these prototypes or models.

Heb 8:5 who, by an example and shadow, are offering the divine service of the celestials, according as Moses has been apprized when about to be completing the tabernacle. For see, He is averring, that you shall be making all “in accord with the model shown to you in the mountain.”

The immensity of Christ is that In or Inside of Him exists every model, pattern, prototype and archetype of all which God the Father has created. This is why Paul boldly says that Christ is all things in all.

1Co 1:30  But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who of God is made to us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;

Christ is made in to these things on behalf of the church.

Paul does not tell us that Christ gives us wisdom, or righteousness or sanctification. He is made into these things by fact that all archetypes dwell in Him.

Col 1:20 and through Him to reconcile all to Him (making peace through the blood of His cross), through Him, whether those on the earth or those in the heavens.”

Reconciliation is  to bring back to the original archetypes and models all things before sin came and messed them up.

Christ has the right to reconcile because the models and prototypes of God’s creation in their perfect state exist in Him.

To be healed is to revert back to the prototype of health which God created before sin was introduced.

It is not so much that a person gets healed. It is more that she has been reconciled back to God’s prototype for wholeness.

As Christ is revealed, every model, and archetype of God’s originals become revealed along with Him, because they exist in Him. Not only are they revealed, but Christ has been made into these very things. The more revelation of Christ the more that He becomes or is made into these things. Its automatic.

This then must be the focus of the Christian’s life.

What is  the role of the Father in the Godhead?  Part of our answer is found in the following scripture

1Co 12:6 and there are apportionments of operations “energema”, yet the same God Who is operating all in all.”

This complex verse is translated from the Greek, in the following way.

“For there are diversities of end results, outcomes, fruit, or products of what has been energized, yet it is the same God who is energizing the all in all.

This uncommon word “operation” or “energema” appears twice only in the Bible.

We see it the second time in verse ten.

1Co 12:10  To another the working  “energema” of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

An energema is the result, the outcome, or product, of something which has been energized. It is what is tangible and clear to the human senses because it has been completed and manifested.

It makes sense then, that we find energema when we discuss the miracles of God.

A miracle is the result, the outcome, the tangible and visible product of an invisible model or archetype which God has in the heavenlies.

We see  that part of the Father’s role in the Godhead is to bring to manifestation and fruition the hidden models and prototypes of His unflawed and unmarred created objects. He is always energizing to do this.

Now, where are of the prototypes and models hidden? You guessed it. They are all in Christ.

We  see the Father at work constantly energizing to manifest the creation through His Son. More so, His only real focus is to manifest His Son, knowing that unflawed creation dwells in Him. The Father longs to energize and demonstrate His Son through the believer, and with Him to show the perfections of heaven, which dwell in Him.  This is part of the activity of the Godhead in the Christian.

Joh 17:23  I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that you sent me, and loved them, even as you loved me.

It’s not so much about getting healed, or set free, or having money. All of the perfect models and blueprints  are already in the Son.  The more revelation, the more will be the healing, and the deliverance. It’s all automatic!

The Christian has this grave responsibility to his neighbor. All that his neighbor needs, in fact, everything that the world needs is already perfected in the Son who lives in the Christian. The church has all the answers!

The Father, who dwells in the Christian, desires to manifest His Son and the things in Him as tangible, completed products, results, and outcomes, to this lost and dying world.

Christian, now you know that the models and prototypes of all of God’s perfect creation lives in you, and that God the Father operates in a faith to always energize and manifest them, as He manifests His Son through you

The Philosophy Of The Gaffe

Online dictionaries define a gaffe as an error, a social blunder, a tactless mistake.

Our media is fond of using the gaffe in describing much of the articulated speech of our elected officials.

It concurs then, that our political leaders are prone daily to many errors, blunders, and mistakes.

Wow! How comforting.

Those who are leading us, according to the press, perform their duties in a hit and miss approach.

Luke 16:10  He that is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in much; and he that is unjust in the least, is unjust also in much.

Jesus said, if you are faithful with the little, you will be faithful with the much.

If you are unfaithful with the little, likewise you will be with the much.

Lu 6:45  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

If you commit gaffes with your speech, you will make errors, blunders and mistakes in big decisions.

If gaffes salt and pepper your dialogue, they dwell abundantly in your heart.

If you heart is prone to blunders and mistakes, what kind of a leader are you?

Joh 21:18  I can guarantee this truth: When you were young, you would get ready to go where you wanted. But when you’re old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will get you ready to take you where you don’t want to go.”

These famous words Jesus uttered to Peter as He defined Peter’s approaching death.

If we are content to be led by those who are prone to gaffes they will lead us to where we don’t want to go.

And we are cool with that?

Many of us are.

I am a leader. I am distraught when even making one mistake.

I have a responsibility to those whom I lead, and will make my wrong right, to the best of my capacity.

Hardly, do I see one of these gaffes corrected.

They are applauded, glossed over, or joked about.

The media drools over them.

The people dismiss them.

Politicians justify them.

Yet, the mouth that utters gaffes is coupled to a heart of poor and unstable leadership.

Those who are content to be led by such men, balk at the notion of being led by The One who makes no gaffes.

I can only continue to pray for my country that Almighty God will grant sense and sensibility back to the American voter.

The Most Sinful!

We live in times in which we don’t talk about sin.

Sin, simply stated, is missing the bull eye of God’s all wise and loving laws for humanity.

Who is always on target with God’s laws?

Jesus Christ, who effectively satisfied the judgment of God the Father for sin, now living in a person, makes that person right with God, because of what He did, and not what the person did.

But I am here to tell you what occurred this morning.

There had been maladies that I have unsuccessfully combated to become free from, some as long as twenty years.

All my crying  to God did not heal me, because in fact, they were caused by the love of certain secret sins.

These infirmities had gone from bad to worse, making me miserable, and causing me to be scared for my health.

About six months back, Jesus smacked me up beside the head with the Bible.

It stung and put a fearful dread in me, but also blessed me.

Joh 5:14  Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said unto him, “Behold, thou art made whole. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.”

I realized that though still battling the infirmities, faithful Jesus was promising to heal me, if I repented.

I feared now that the malady might become a chronic disease and even kill me.

Now then, repentance has little to do with weeping, wailing and the gnashing of teeth.

Repentance, is derived from a compound word which translates as a change of mind, or appositionally said, to be brainwashed, by the Word of God.

Mt 4:17  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Here Jesus loosely sates, “get brainwashed by the Word of God and your obedience to Him, so by them, you may enter into God’s kingdom and do its works.”

Repentance, commences with the loving and disciplinary voice of the Holy Spirit advising that you have reached the end of God’s rope with a particular sin.

From then on buddy, things will simply get worse.

You’ll know when God finally highlights your sin and the time of asking for forgiveness and repeatedly wallowing back into it, is done and over.

So my trek to repentance began on that day

I still fell back into the sin several times a week.

It wasn’t until  recently that I grasped that if I was to be completely healed I would have to totally cease from this lifelong habit.

Now I feel that total healing is mine, finally, twenty years later!

Excited, to slowly tap into my new-found freedom and the exhilarating joys of  plowing into God’s snow white purity, I am pressing in prayer to my final breakthrough.

This morning as God dealt profoundly with my heart, I heard His words; “Most Sinful.”

God told me that the secret love, the idol of sin, which I had harbored in my heart, was Most Sinful to Him.

And now so, because I had really repented, He was removing The Most Sinful, and its roots, which had  nurtured the infirmities for so long.

I have been a Christian since 1979.

I can say with confidence that ninety percent of my sicknesses have been caused by the love of some sin in tandem with demonic attacks, as the sin afforded open doors for the demons to sicken, and keep me sick.

Anyone who reads this blog and that has unsuccessfully battled for freedom from sickness or disease, ask of God if there is an open door through the love of a secret sin.

Sometimes sickness is not caused by sin, but many times it is.

I believe that the Christian who lives in a repentant life style can also live in supernaturally healthy life style.

Its time Christian, whoever you are, to be delivered from The Most Sinful.

A Primer on Faith

We must live through the faith of God

Mark 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have  faith in (Have the “God kind” of faith, or the faith OF GOD!) God.

Gal 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith, of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Greek: The life which I now live in the flesh, I live in faith, this being the faith which dwells in the Son of God. (Genitive Greek case signifying possession)

The faith flowing through Christ; even the faith that comes out of Christ living continuously in me.

Romans 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Rhema word of God.

Greek:  So then faith gets its life from hearing, but the type of hearing, which describes faith, must be exclusively one which comes through the rhema word of God, which is the voice of the Spirit.

John 1:1  In the beginning was the LOGOS (word), and the LOGOS(word) was with God, and the LOGOS(word) was God.

Matthew 12:36  But I say unto you, That every idle RHEMA (word) that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

The “logos” describes “the word of God” as an idea or a concept, usually in a written form.

The “rhema” however is a personally spoken word of revelation, prophecy, or knowledge, through the mouth of God to us, in regards to a particular circumstance.  We have all said at one time or another, “this scripture really leaped out at me”!  This is a “rhema word” given you by the Lord to minister to you in a particular situation.

Gross misunderstanding and ignorance of the distinction between these two types of “words”, lends greatly to the weak state of our church today.  Let us look at some examples that will help us to learn.

Matthew 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every RHEMA that proceedeth( from moment to moment) out of the mouth of God.

Romans 10:8  But what saith it? The rhema word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the rhema word of faith, which we preach; (Dative relationship)

Every rhema word represents an itemized description of God’s measure of faith, as He has tailored it for every situation in which He speaks the rhema word into.  It is an account of what the Lord can do within a particular circumstance.

Luke 1:37  For with God nothing( Rhema word) shall be impossible.

(The English is a poor translation:  Greek: For with God every rhema word has the (indwelling) dunamis power to come to pass.

Secondly, the rhema word not only carries with it God’s measure of faith, but also God’s dunamis power.

John 17:8  For I have given unto them the rhema words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

Thirdly, every rhema word reveals the Person of Christ.  As Christ is revealed, the faith and power that He possesses, is manifested along with Him.

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Without faith there is a vacuüm of dunamis power to please God.

The Might and Ability of Faith

Mark 10:27  And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

Greek paraphrase: God is capable and able, and mighty and strong to successfully carry out His will in every affair in heaven and upon the earth.

Luke 18:27  And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

Greek paraphrase: In all those things that people find impossible to carry out because they have no power, God is able and capable, and strong and mighty to carry out.

Mark 9:23  Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible  to him that believeth.

If you have the ability to believe for something, without allowing for a chronic pattern of doubt to set in, that very thing that you believe for becomes transformed into something, mighty and strong and powerful and capable to get what you are seeking for.

“As” Thou Hast Believed

Matthew 8:13  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Matthew 15:28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

The word “as” has a powerful connotation in New Testament scriptures.  It is defined by some of the following terms;   As, like, even as, just like, in the same way, and a carbon copy of.

In Matthew eight and thirteen, Jesus in fact tells the centurion, that in the very specific thing that he has targeted his belief for, that very targeted thing he will receive. When we ask in Jesus’ Name, our request must be very specifically targeted to what we want. From the rhema word that Jesus grants us in His name, we find ourselves with a host of things that we can ask from the Lord within the sphere of the rhema word.  Any specific point that we target our request for, believing, which is void of the two types of doubting taught above, we will receive as a specific carbon copy or reduplication of what we requested. The specific thing that we ask for believing is the specific thing that we receive.

Matthew 9:29  Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.( LET IT BECOME OR BE CREATED FOR YOU)

In Matthew nine and twenty-nine the “according to your faith” is very similar to the word “as”. In other words we will receive from the Lord in proportion to our faith.  Receiving is a matter of degrees. The more is the proportion of our faith, to believe without doubting, the greater will be the proportion of our receiving.  Our faith, or lack thereof, directly limits what we will receive or not receive from the Lord.

The Authority of Faith

A very important quality of God’s faith, is that resident within it lies God’s authority to cause circumstances and situations to submit to the faith itself, change them and lines them up to God’s rhema word. Let us analyze three scriptures below.

Matthew 8:13  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

The so be it done unto thee” is in the Greek imperative mood or the mood of command.  The faith of the centurion has God’s inherent authority to command circumstances to change and line up in accordance to what the centurion specifically targeted for in his request.

Matthew 9:29  Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

The “be it unto you” is in the Greek imperative mood.  In reality what Jesus tells them is that their faith commanded the circumstances that kept them blind to change and line up into God’s normalcy for vision.

Matthew 15:28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Your faith has commanded the future circumstances to line up and submit to and finally give to you what you desire.

The Inner Strength of Faith

Matthew 17:20  And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove (FUTURE MIDDLE INDICATIVE “it will happen without fail by the inherent power resident in faith”)  and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Matthew 21:21  Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done (FUTURE MIDDLE INDICATIVE “it will happen without fail by the inherent power resident in faith”)

Faith In The Perfect Tense

In the beginning of our study, we dealt with the Greek perfect tense.  We discussed that the Greek perfect tense defines an event completed in the past, but its results and impact are eternal, affecting and influencing us today, and in our future.

Matthew 9:22  But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Hath made the whole is in the Greek perfect tense.  The faith of the women completely healed her with the results that her healing is secure from now, the future, and until the time of her natural death, unless she sins and opens up a door to the enemy.

Mark 5:34  And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Here Jesus tells the woman “Thy faith has cured you now and forevermore.” The faith itself accomplished it with a completed and everlasting result.  Jesus then tells the woman; “Immediately go into a continual and enduring state of shalom peace brought about by being whole and sound from your plague.

The Causative Action of Faith

Exodus 8:5  And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs  ( causative faith) to come up upon the land of Egypt.

Mustard Seed Faith

Luke 17:5  And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

6  And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Mustard seed faith is three-dimensional faith. A grain of mustard is three-dimensional. In Hebrews eleven and one we are told that faith must have substance.  In John one and fourteen we are told that the Word of God must become flesh.

In all of these instances we see that faith must become a reality to us.  More than that, faith must become our ONLY reality. The reality of faith, and the rhema word of God must become OUR ONLY REALITY.  It is what must become three dimensional to us.  Our circumstances must all become two-dimensional and our UNREALITY.

Let us look at a few excerpts from the book of Hebrews.

Hebrews 11:7  By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Being divinely instructed and admonished about the things that he could not see with human the human eyes.

“The things yet not seen” what was what well known to Noah, or what had a three dimensional substance to him.   The physical world acquired no reality or became simply two-dimensional.

8  By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

He was called was in the present tense.

He obeyed-   Greek: “a military submission to hearing”.

He went out; As we go out with the word of God.

Not knowing ‘Having nothing in the physical realm which was set and standing before him so that he could grasp and follow.  He had no acquaintance with what God had called him to do.

10    For he looked(was expecting) for a city which hath foundations, whose builder (technician or craftsman)  and maker ( “the worker for the people,” as technician and craftsman of the new foundations which only faith builds) is God.

27  By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Moses dominated and endured by seeing with discernment in the Spirit what was invisible or void of discernment in the natural or to the human eye. His substance was the rhema word of God.  The natural world was not a reality to him.

The Faith of Abraham

Romans 4:12  And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk(Greek: march as a soldier ) in the steps ( footprints) of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

Romans 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead (corpses), and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Greek translation and my paraphrase; Abraham once and for all, (aorist tense) believed God.  Who is the God whom he believed in?

Abraham believed in the God whose nature is to continuously give life to the dead i.e. (Greek; Circumstances which are so dead that they are corpse like).

He is also the God who continuously calls the things which are not, as if they are.  (The word “as” is a very interesting word.  It means in the same way as, or having the same content).

Romans 4:19  And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead ( now in a permanent state of a corpse) , when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness ( the corpse-likeness) of Sara’s womb:

He considered his own body now in a state of a corpse and the corpse of the womb of Sarah.

11    Through faith also Sara herself received strength(received dunamis power) to conceive( to lay down a foundation of) seed( spermatos), and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

12  Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

My Greek paraphrase Therefore also from one were born (many) though that specific one is a corpse; and these many, in relationship to the stars of heaven, equal to the number of the fullness of their multitude; and just as the sand by the side of the shore of the sea is so much in number that arithmetic cannot calculate it.

Understanding Aorist Faith

Mat 8:8  The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word ( Greek: a word)) only, and my servant shall be healed.

9  For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go (aorist), and he goeth; ( present ) and to another, Come,( present) and he cometh;( present) and to my servant, Do this(aorist), and he doeth it(present).

10   Then Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you.

In verse eight of Matthew eight, we find the centurion dialoguing with Jesus and acknowledging that His rhema word spoken in regards to the sickness of his servant would result in his complete healing.  The phrase “shall be healed”, is in the indicative mood.

If you can remember from our earlier studies, this Greek mood describes a statement of fact, an absolute certainty, and a done deal.  The centurion is in fact relaying to Jesus that he is aware that the Lord’s rhema word will carry out with absolute certainty all that it intends to do.  This is what deeply touched the Lord.

The “aorist tense” in the Greek, can be compared to our “past tense” in the English. Simply speaking, it describes a past occurrence.  However, the Greek aorist tense is stronger than our English past tense.

This verb tense has the element of “punctiliar action.” This fancy word in reality means nothing more than a “punctuation” or “punctuation mark” in the succession of time.  Can you see the similarity between punctiliar and punctuation? Whenever we place a question mark, a period, and a comma as we write, we insert one mark with our pens in the sequence of time and go on with our writing. This one single event jotted down in one moment of time, is called punctiliar action.  I call the use of the aorist tense, “punctuation in time.”

The present tense describes action which is presently and continuously occurring in the here and now i.e.; “at this very moment.”

Mark 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith(Present) in ( Have the “God kind” of faith, or the faith OF GOD!) God. (God is in the genitive Greek case of “God possessing something”, hence His possessing faith).

23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed(Aorist), and be thou cast(Aorist) into the sea; and shall not doubt(Aorist) in his heart, but shall believe(Aorist) that those things which he saith shall come to pass(Present); he shall have whatsoever he saith.( future indicative)

24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe(present) that ye receive them(present), and ye shall have them.(future indicative)

Hebrews 11:29  By faith they passed through(A thorough stepping through) the Red sea as by dry land: ( just like if going through dry land) which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. (Were swallowed up;the outcome of having no faith)

Hebrews 11:30  By faith (The domain and instrumentality of faith ) the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about ( encircled upon) seven days.

Hebrews 11:31  By faith the harlot Rahab perished not (In absolutely no way was destroyed together; the outcome of faith)  with them that believed not (non-compliant or in persuadable to the voice of God; non-Christians and Christians alike), when she had received the spies with peace.

Why Are People Hostile to God?

Rom 8;7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Walking in the Spirit versus walking in the flesh is more than a mindset or a habit.

It is two spheres, two worlds, grounds or soils.

The flesh in itself is not evil.

3  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Christ came in the flesh and died for sin in the flesh.

The problem with the flesh is that because of the law of sin and death lodged in its bodily members, it can be used as a beach head for the operations of sin.

Thus, the result of walking in the soil of the flesh will sooner or later yield its natural fruit, coming from its soil, which is death.

The law of sin and death which governs the grounds of the flesh will function to produce this fruit of death.

It is impossible in the sphere or the soil of the Spirit for the motions of sin to operate.

In the world or soil of the Spirit it is impossible for a trace of sin to be found.

As a matter of fact the soil or grounds of the Spirit are controlled by the law of the Spirit of life which naturally causes it to yield the fruit of righteousness, life and peace.

Therefore, waking in the Spirit versus walking in the flesh are two different worlds,  and two different ways of living, and in them, are the different set of laws which govern these worlds causing different fruit to be naturally yielded.

The carnal mind is hostile to God simply because it functions in the world of the flesh.

It’s  impossible for the carnal mind to subject itself to the laws which dominate the world of the Spirit or yield its fruit, when it lives in this different world and partakes from the fruit of its soil.

Therefore the carnal mind lives in constant hostility to God, and with that all humanity which functions out of a carnal mind is also hostile to God.
