If There Is No Hell, There Is No Heaven, And We Are All Screwed.

There can’t be a heaven if there is not a hell.

If there was a heaven but no hell, then love does not exist.

For true love is based on absolute freedom of will.

God gives humans an absolute freedom to choose or not choose Him.

The horrifying consequences of sin show our infinite ability to choose God or not choose Him.

If we would have chosen God, there would be no death, sickness, or wars.

But the reality of these demonstrates our infinite power to choose and the infinite love of God who gave us that power.

Pure love is not tyrannical, it does not create robots, and it gives to the other utter freedom to choose, even if the outcome is dreadful.

If there was heaven but no hell, then every person would be God’s Stepford wife, either forced to follow Him or programmed by Him to do so.

God does not live in hell. So if hell does not exist, then everyone would be forced to follow God, and end up where He is, even against their will.

If this is so, then God is hate.

If heaven exists, there must be a hell. The reality of both demonstrates God’s immense love for people. It proves the infinite power of the human will, given to us by God, for us to choose our infinite destiny. This is pure love. This is the love of God.

G.K. Chesterton once remarked, “Hell is God’s great compliment to the reality of human freedom and the dignity of human personality.”

If Rob Bell is right and others like Him, then God is not be pure love, for at the end of all He dictates human will and destiny to His side of things.

For there to be love, there must be heaven and there must be hell and the unmitigated power of the human will to choose one or the other.

There can’t be a heaven if there is not a hell, and we are all screwed.

    • Dan, many blessings. Thank you for reading my blogs and for your forthright input. This debate can go on forever. Let me throw out a few scriptures to counter what you said. First of all Jesus spoke about hell three times more than heaven. One has to wonder why. Anyways, these are my concerns.
      John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
      2 Thess 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
      9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
      10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
      Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
      15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

  1. I have to say I completely disagree with you on this one! I have read and agreed with some of your previous posts, but this time I think you missed the mark.

    Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

    2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

    Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

    Col 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

    22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

    23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

    28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

    Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

    Jesus said, If I be lifted up, I will draw all unto myself. He was lifted up on the Cross and all were drawn to him. God reconciled the world to himself through the work of Christ! This is the most Complete showing of Love there has been, or will ever be.

    Man has free will to follow Jesus or to deny him! Following him brings salvation, and life, Life more abundantly! Denying him brings corruption and death! The mis-interpretation of reconciled and saved being the same is what causes confusion in the Church!

    Rom 5:10 clearly shows that reconciliaton came by his Death and Salvation came by his life and they are two seperate things!

    Christians many times tell people God loves you to people who are not “Living right” but when they get to Church they are told the conditions of God’s love! God never changes! He loved us even when were enemies, as started in Rom 5:10 Col 1:20-21

    Rom 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.

    God’s Grace made us perfect by the work Christ. I’m not saying it’s OK to just do whatever, because there are Laws of the Flesh, and there are Laws of the Spirit!

    There is so much more I could cover here with scripture, but I see you to be a person that will seek out the truth. Seek out God and his Grace and you will find his love is greater than we can even imagine! I have covered some of my findings of God’s grace in my blog. I have even reposted some of your writings giving you full credit!

    I was once where you are, and started this incredible journey that I believe you are on the verge of! I lived by what I was taught in religion, now I live by the revelation of Grace!

    I lived in hell, not a place physically, but in my mind and was put there by religion, God has revealed himself to me, by his Grace and now I live with Him eating from the tree of life!

    God Bless you Brother!

    “imagine there’s no heaven….no hell below us…” this is the spirit of the world. Jesus had many opportunities to qualify hell as temporary or metaphorical…he never did. His brother Jude wrote that those who teach these things have “the blackest darkness reserved for them forever.” Jude 13. Rafael Gomez

    G.K. Chesterton once remarked, “Hell is God’s great compliment to the reality of human freedom and the dignity of human personality.”
