The Psychological Christian

The Bible informs us that there are three types of people in this world.

The carnal man (Greek; Sarkikos; the man of the flesh, or the fleshly man)

The natural man (Greek: Psychikos; the man of the soul, or the psychological man)

The spiritual man (Greek: Pneumatikos; the man of the wind, or the spiritual man)

Through “our accomplished position in Christ” we are ‘spiritual people”.

It is impossible for us to be carnal Christians since our sinful “fleshly” nature was crucified and has died off with Christ.

The “unsaved or unregenerate person” however, is a slave to sin and the flesh, and can be no more, and no less, than “carnal” in nature.

Where does this leave the “natural” or “soulish” man?  Who is this “natural man”?

1Cor 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10  But God hath revealed them( taking the lid off) unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth(sounds out) all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

1 Cor 2:14  But the natural man(psychikos) ( receiveth (he does not welcome with open arms) not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (to investigate, examine and determine something so as to render a decision)

15  But he that is spiritual(pneumatikos) judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

16  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

1Cor 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

In verse nine of First Corinthians chapter two; the apostle Paul begins his discourse on the natural versus the spiritual person by addressing his audience as “which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

Secondly, the “unsaved on unregenerate” man or woman cannot be a ‘man of the soul’ when he or she are still carnal .

The “natural man” then, is the class of Christian, which I described above.

He or she are believers who “walk after” or in “accordance to the flesh”.

They are natural, psychological, or “soulish” believers because they have opted to live their Christian lives independent of the voice of the Holy Spirit.  The mind which is to be submitted to the Holy Spirit in his or her spirit is detached and functions out of itself; its own agendas and ideas.

Instead they conduct their Christian affairs in accordance to the voice of their intellect, will, and emotions, and are independent of the desires of the Holy Spirit.

You can see the results of what happens to the natural believer, by studying the scriptural excerpt above.

Whether we engage in the blatant works of the flesh, or the subtle fleshly works of the natural Christian we very much still operate in the flesh.

Watchman Nee said, and I paraphrase him, that humanity wastes trillions and trillions of dollars to perfume and beautify our flesh.  The Lord Jesus, however, only had one verdict and sentence for the flesh, even in our most noble of Christian efforts.  He said that Jesus crucified and killed it. That is the only purpose for the flesh.

His verdict was that “nothing good dwells in our flesh.”

Romans 7:18  For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it.

The Word is The Word is The Word

John 3:27  John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

It is impossible for believers to operate in anything that pertains to the kingdom of heaven unless they have first permanently made it their own, through revelation.

John 7:18  He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

The one who speaks without the rhema word or God, or without His Spirit, seeks his own glory.

John 8:54  Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

If I glorify myself, or bring glory to myself, my glory is nothing.

Acts 1:8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Ye shall receive dunamis power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you, overtaken, and influenced you in such a way that He becomes fully functional or operational in your life.

Acts 6:8  And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

And Stephen thoroughly permeated with faith and dunamis power  (so that there was no part of him void of these attributes) continually did miracles exhibited both as signs that confirmed him as one sent by God, and wonders that caused people to come to salvation.

Acts 19:19  Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20  So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

The word of God continually grew with dominion over the affairs of men to the point that its robustness, might and ability to overcome in all circumstances in which it grew, and bring the victory is continually evident.

Acts 4:33  And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

The apostles kept on giving away to the people, the evidence of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, through the vehicle of dunamis power. This evidence revealed the Person of the Lord Jesus upon the people in a great way.

Romans 1:4  And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

Today, Jesus is manifested, appointed, and decreed as the Son of God through the operation of dunamis power by the Spirit of holiness. (The content of this proof is that Jesus was raised up from a corpse and is now seen alive.)

 Romans 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

We are all deficient in the glory of God.

Rom 17  For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth

That I might show and prove by word and deed that my dunamis power is in you, resulting in the thorough heralding of my Name in all the earth.

Rom 9:23  And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory

And that God might make known (in a way that the world can understand) the wealth, the possessions, and the abundance found in the making Him visible.  This is God’s goal to be deposited upon the vessels of His compassion ( the obedient believers), which He had prepared beforehand for the express purpose of making Him visible.

Rom 15:19  Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

In the sphere of the dunamis power belonging to signs and wonders, (the manifestation of miracles) and in the sphere of the dunamis power belonging to the Spirit (spiritual gifts); so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have filled up the gospel resulting in it having an eternal impact.

20  Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation:

And so being ambitious (Greek: fond of godly honor) to never evangelize where Christ had been named in order not to build upon another’s foundation.

Rom 16:24  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

The labor of the revealed Person of Christ be with you all.

25  Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

26  But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

God has the ability to strengthen you, and to make you firm and fast in your faith, (by my gospel and the preaching of the Person of Jesus Christ) only in proportion to the revelation of the mystery (which is the revealed Person of Christ).

Christ is revealed through the prophetic scriptures (prophets and prophecy reveal Christ) by the commandment of the everlasting God.  This revelation of Christ is made known unto all the nations so that Christ may be obeyed by faith.

1 Cor 2:7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

Through the progressive revelation of Christ who dwells hid as a mystery, the ways and the time tables of God are progressively explained, and if we receive them, they will result in us being able to likewise manifest Christ; for which we have also been eternally appointed (in the first place)

1 Cor 3:11  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

No one is able to lay another foundation besides the one that is continually laid, which is the revealed Person of Christ. The revelation of Christ is the foundation of any local church, not things. When Christ is revealed and lifted up as the foundation, He draws all men unto Himself. This is revival.

1 Cor 4:19  But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.

The only thing that I desire to experientially know about you is the dunamis power flowing through your life!

2 Cor 9:13  Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;

Through your tried, proved, and now fully operational ministry they glorify God.

2 Cor 12:12  Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds

Indeed, the signs that give evidence that I am an apostle were worked out fully to manifestation and finished in all constancy and endurance, in signs and wonders and works of (God’s) dunamis power.

2 Cor 13:8  For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

We are not capable or able to do anything against the truth but only for the truth,

Gal 2:8  (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:

For He that was energizing, active, efficient, mighty, and fully operational in Peter into the apostleship of the circumcision;

The Lord becomes fully operational in the lives of believers who uncompromisingly obeys the voice of the Spirit at all times, as they fulfill their ministry in the Lord (but not “dead” church  works)

Gal 3:5  He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

He that continually and abundantly supplies (taken from the Greek word which means to furnish supplies to a chorus) to you the Spirit and is active, energizing, effective for, and fully operational in performing miracles in you, does He do it through dead religious works, or the hearing of the rhema word, or the voice of the Spirit, which is the faith that belongs to God?

Gal 5:6  For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision has residing or inherent godly strength and might which displays the power in which God acts, nor uncircumcision, but (only) faith.  This faith however is only active, efficient, energized and fully operational when it is done in love.

Eph 3:7  Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

We are only as effective in our callings, ministries, and spiritual gifts, as is the gift of the efficient and full operation of the dunamis power of God exerted by the revealed Person of Christ as He labors within us in proportion to His revelation.

Eph 3:21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen

That God being invisible might be made visible in the church, by the Person of Christ Jesus, as the church reveals Him, for the purpose of making Him visible to all generations throughout eternity. Through His visibility He becomes glorified. The church is the vehicle which glorifies God as it reveals Him.

God Answers The Atheist

I recently got into a conversation with a gentleman who is was a deep agnostic bordering on atheism.

He was a mathematics professor in a university.

I asked him, what it would take for him to believe. He told me that God, or if there is a God, would have to show him concrete and tangible proof of Himself.

We had been having Holy Ghost meetings. To my surprise, this man not only came to the meeting, but hung out with us way before the meeting began.

Jesus never chased anybody who did not want Him. Neither do I.

From the commencement of the meeting God came in with a tremendous bang of healing power.  In a matter of minutes many were on the floor visibly “under the influence” of God’s sweet love, if you know what I mean.

I prayed for everybody, except this man, wishing to respect his atheist’s views.

My beloved wife Mary touched me on the shoulder and asked me, “Are you not going to pray for him?”  I fumbled and said to her, “Oh, I did not think that he wanted prayer.”

I turned to the gentleman and asked, “Do you want me to pray for you?”  “Yes”, he told me.

I lifted him up from his chair and extended my hand toward him, being careful not to touch him.

The visible glory of God came upon this man as he stood with eyes closed. For almost ten minutes he stood there with his eyes shut.  I prayed, “Lord, give him the undisputable concrete proof of You that he needs! “I moved on to the next person but kept on glancing towards him. When he opened them, and his and mine met, he had a big smile on his face. What occurred, I have no idea.

Ten minutes later I had healing line of four people.  As I prayed, the man at the end of the line about 10 feet away, suddenly collapsed under the power of God with no one to catch him.

My atheist friend who had been comfortably sitting, lunged from the couch in a desperate effort to catch him. He caught the man and both fell on the floor with the man squarely on top of my atheist friend, in one big heap.

My atheist friend looked at me sprawled on the ground, a body on top of him. He had a big grin on his face.

I do not know if this was his concrete proof or not. Surely God is great and has a great sense of humor, though.

The New VS The Old Wine Skins

Mt 9:17  Neither do men put new (neos) wine into old  wine-skins: else the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins perish: but they put new (kainos) wine into fresh wine-skins, and both are preserved.

Neos is new or young in age, as a babe, a youth, or a teen ager.

Kainos, is not specifically new in age, but new because it’s something which has never been seen. Something unique, novel or out of the box is new because it’s never been seen. This is kainos.

So the fresh and young revival move of God’s Spirit must be place into Christians who are novel, and unique because the move by the voice of the Holy Spirit and are “Presence focused” and not “Religious or churchy programs focused.”

There is a separation coming between the old wineskins and the new wine.

The old wineskins represent our present religious system.  It is our “church culture,” our “Christianisee” ways that plagues much of our American churches and our lives as Christians

The old wine skin is the system that exalts its theological doctrines, doctrines of men, or church denominations as idols above the Word or the Spirit of God.  Such are the churches that say that spiritual gifts are not for today.  Or such are the churches that limit and hinder the move of the Spirit as not to offend the “seeker”, who comes to their Sunday services.

Seeker sensitivity is Christianity’s political correctness.

The  old wine skins also represents those churches that are constantly seeking the supernatural, the blessings, the instant miracles, the instant financial prosperity, the claiming and framing from a “Santa Claus” God, without at the same time teaching its people a strong and correct foundation of Christian character through the Word of God, prayer and embracing the work of the cross of Christ.

The old win skins are those churches that put social issues, social justice issues, and cultural relevancy as idols before the voice of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. We can strive to be relevant to the heartbeat of the culture, but never compromise the Word of God to do so. Whenever we do that, deception comes in. This is because the devil is culturally relevant to every culture by deceiving it when the church compromises the Word of God to attempt to be relevant to the present culture. The devil is an equal opportunity deceiver, who only flees at the Word of God and only attacks when the Word is compromised, regardless of the decade that we live in. He does not respect cultural relevancy, only Word relevancy. His wish is to remain incognito so that we attribute problems to everything else but him.

The old wine skins represent the ministers who thrive on control and one man shows.  It is also the same system that thrives with believers who are pew sitters.  God has not created us to be spiritual babies forever. God has a calling and a ministry for each of us. The only Person of Interest is the Holy Spirit and what He wants to do.

The old wine skins represent the manipulation and hype that comes out of our pulpit for money.  It is also made up of believers that think that their problems will be solved strictly by a financial donation, and that instant miracles and solutions will come to them because of it.  God is not a Santa Claus God.  Most times a lack of financial blessings are either a sign of testing, faith building, or that something is wrong with our walks before God.  We need to find out what God is telling us.

The old wine skins are believers who look to Facebook and Twitter statuses as the Word of God than the serious study of the Word.

What is the New Wine?

2Co 13:4  for he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth through the power of God. For we also are weak  in him, but we shall live with him through the power of God toward you.

It comes out a crucified life that is lived through us by the revealed person of Christ. The new wine skin is focused on the revelation of the Person of Jesus Christ, rather than focused on church programs.

Ro 1:1  Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

His only right is to be a love slave of God.

God makes Himself responsible to take full care of that believer.

The responsibility of that believer is to hear the voice of God and obey so that God can move through Him in the fullness of His power.  If our control has died, then God controls us and execute His plans through in His perfect timing and through it touches many souls.

The great Christian apostle Watchman Nee said that God can do more through one dead to himself believer than one thousand alive to themselves ones.

Joh 3:8  The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the voice thereof, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Our agendas and programs of the old wineskin have been crucified and have died.

The new wine believer or church has no programs and agendas but a life of obeying the Spirit of the living God, moment by moment and that with instant joyful obedience.

As we do not know where the wind goes so the believer whom would live in this new wine must allow God to blow him or her where He desires.

He knows not where God will take him next.  It is a life of exciting hardship, challenge, living on the edge and un boring sacrifice.

I believe that much of the church of today is bored because of this.

As Mother Teresa said, we become God’s pencil and God uses us in tremendous ways.

The believer must not have his or her whole life etched in stone.  Their main priority is to be attentive to the voice of the Master to change their life, their plans, and their destiny for God at a moment’s instance.  God will do great things through the believer that is at His disposal.

2Co 5:4  For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

The new wine believer’s plans and future expectations have died and swallowed up in the immensity of the greatness of God. The believer loses himself to the infinity and greatness of the heart and mind of God for Him and for a lost world

The new wine believer does not cry out for revival.  He or she is a revival.  Wherever they go God flows through them in unlimited power, with His perfect timing and executes His eternal plans to affect many souls. God can do that because the new wine believer hears the voice of the Spirit clearly.  God uses him as razor sharp instrument.

Heb 11:8  By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out unto a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

The new wine believer walks totally by faith so that God can take him or her where He wants, use him as He wants, and when He wants.

The believer will then be living  from the greatness of God and moment from moment excitement of the plans that God continues to execute through Him.  He has died to His plans and has taken God’s plans upon himself.

He is totally surrendered to do his with his time, his ministry, and his finances, as God will.  God will greatly use such as one as this. As it says, if God knows He can channel it through us, He will give it to us.

Faith must become a totally normal way of life. Faith cannot be taught.  Faith must be lived out.

If we live by sight it will keep us bounded in the littleness of our own comfort, our own safety, our own understanding, our schemes, and our control and mind.  Our lives will always be meager and limited by our frail human limitations.

We must go through a time an extended financial want and testing deep enough and long to learn how to place our trust in God and not money.

We must come to place where our whole dependency is upon God and not upon our money and our control. Then God can lead us freely, He can powerfully act and perform through us.  He can give to us more and more.

We will live out of His strength, His eternal plans that will affect countless peoples for eternity and His power

2Co 1:9  But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: {sentence: or, answer}

Miracles, signs and wonders occur always when we come to this end of ourselves.

Our end forces God to act for us. Our end is God’s beginning.

In this country we depend so much on ourselves on our money and our comforts that God does not have to act on our behalf.  Hence we never see His power.  We live powerless and bored lives. We are trading the greatness of faith and freedom for the smallness of security through the control of big government.

Read these quotes from Alexis de Tocqueville’s, who lived 180 years ago. Truly a prophet to the USA!

“The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.”

“The man who asks of freedom anything other than itself is born to be a slave.”

“It’s not an endlessly expanding list of rights – the “right” to education, the “right” to health care, the “right” to food and housing. That’s not freedom, that’s dependency. Those aren’t rights, those are the rations of slavery – hay and a barn for human cattle.”

“Americans are so enamoured of equality they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.”

“I should have loved freedom, I believe, always, but in the time in which we live I am ready to worship it.”

Christians can have many problems with finances, because God cannot bless them with much money.  He cannot trust us.  We are too alive!!  Too much in control, too much selfishness still plagues us. God fears that their hearts might stray from Him.

True financial prosperity comes to believer who keeps whatever money God tells him to keep and channels every other penny out according to the voice of God instantly and joyfully.

Ch 22:14  Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto. {trouble: or, poverty}

For those who have a problem with tithing, what about King David’s donation to the work of God.

A three billion dollar contribution just in gold!

Christ Is The Living Well

Mat 5:16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Your light: It is not the light of a lamp but that of a torch.

See:  There are different types of “seeing” in the Greek language. “That they may see” is more than the casual gaze found in a look.  It represents a studied observance with the goal towards the understanding of something. It is a seeing that produces an instinct, a gut feeling, which allows you to come up with a decision.

Jesus expects people to observe the lives of believers to the point that they can make a studied decision to accept or reject Him and His gospel.

Good works are Spirit led works, versus “dead works” which are works produced by the flesh.

John 3:34  For he whom God hath sent speaketh the rhema words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

Greek paraphrase. For whom God sent in an apostolic mission speaks the full rhema message of God, because in a “portion- less” (the whole pie versus a portion of pie) manner He gives the Spirit.

As ministers we must understand that the Spirit of God is fully bestowed upon Jesus; never limited, or by portion. This same Jesus dwells within the minister of the gospel.  The limits that we place upon the Holy Spirit are the limits of our renewed or un renewed mind.

The Spirit which flow as “rivers of living waters” occurs in the realm of the gift of faith. There are no magical equations for the operation of gift of faith. The calling to minister in the gift of faith is initiated by God, and must be pressed in and broken into through worship, time with the Lord. and by a leadership that has no other agenda but to allow the Holy Spirit to have His uncontested way. The breakthrough many times is gradual, and occurs over a number of meetings. The goal of spiritual breakthrough must occur to the point that nothing is seen as impossible within our hearts.  If there is an absence of expectation by believers, the slightest bit of fleshly control by leadership, or a preference of religious programs over the wishes of the Spirit, this realm will not be attained.

John 4:14  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Greek paraphrase:  A spring fed well continually leaping, gushing, and bubbling up, of its own action.

Jesus is a well within us. He is the well of God’s Spirit, because the Spirit has been given to Him in a boundless, unlimited way, in His totality, and not by means of portions.

We can only fully tap into this well through the operation of the gift of faith and the dunamis power found in the gospel.

Roman 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

“For it is the power of God”: This is incorrect: It should be, “it is A power of God.”

In other words, the gospel is one kind of manifestation of the dunamis power of God. The dunamis power of the gospel of God is not based solely upon the logos word, but upon the logos and the rhema word, which is the voice of the Holy Spirit.

What makes the gospel be a manifestation of the dunamis power of God is found in the next verse.

17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from (OUT of FAITH) faith to (AND INTO)  faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Greek paraphrase:  For in it is uncovered a righteousness of God which originates from faith, and produces (more) faith.

Imagine a pitcher labeled “faith” from the which God’s righteousness, or manifested deeds and works are poured out, to then be poured into another pitcher labeled “faith”; to then be poured out, to then be poured into, and so forth. This is the breakthrough which God affords. Its continual and must be pressed into a spiritually militaristic fashion. God always desires to bring the breakthrough. The breakthrough does not occur because of complacency and passivity.

Herein is a manifestation of the operation of dunamis power. The faith of the logos and the rhema word release the deeds and works of God, which always originate in faith and are uncovered by it. The supernatural deeds of God now manifested in the world by the gospel, awe and inspire many, producing even more faith.

  1 Cor 12:9  To another (the gift) faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing( the charismatic gifts of instantaneous cures)  by the same Spirit;

The ability to see an instantaneous physical healing will only originate through a specific rhema word, which is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) that destroys the specific condition creating the malady.  This must be coupled with a “childlike” faith in the scriptural claims of Jesus’ victories over the devil and disease, faith in His blood, faith in His Name.  All of these together are energized by the gift of faith that destroys all limitations imposed by nature and circumstances.

Colossians 2:12  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation (energy) of God, who hath raised him from the dead. (Corpse)

We must place our faith in the operation or in the ability that God had when He effectively and fully raised Christ from the state of a corpse.

The energy of God is defined as the one which raised Christ from a corpse, all the way to causing to Him to sit down at the right hand of God. This same energy dwells in every believer. It is revealed through a spirit of wisdom and revelation. The prayer of revelation is the most important prayer for the believer.

·When we minister we must have an abiding faith in that God has perfect ability to raise anything from a state of deadness, weakness, and disease, in accordance to what He is commanding us to do. This is what it means to have “faith in.”  Our faith is centered on the operation of God to raise anything out of the state of a corpse.  This is the “faith of location,” or dwelling in one aspect of God’s truth.

At the same time we must also have the “faith of”.  Here, our faith lies in the fact, that this very same faith, which we placed IN the operation of God, will now work back through us the actual raising up of the “corpse like condition.”  This is instrumental faith, or our faith in “the operation of God to raise”, brings this operation to life within us, so that it now works back through us to cause the actual raising up.

Romans 11:36  For of him (Originating from Jesus  “Faith of Location”);, and through him(Jesus Himself performs the work back through us “Instrumental Faith”), and to him (Into Jesus, giving Him back the glory and obedience, so that He may lead us into the next dimension of our “faith in Him”, which activates His works  in us and causes Him to  work back through  us by the “faith of Him.” In order to perform His word) are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Greek: “ That out of Him, and through Him and Into Him, the All”

Romans 3:25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Our innate faith IN what the blood of Christ has accomplished causes the faith OF the blood of Jesus to work through us.

Acts 3:16  And his name through faith in his name (Faith of location) hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him(Instrumental faith)  hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all

Our faith located in the Name of Jesus allows for the very same Name of Jesus to instrumentally work back through us.  In this case the Name of Jesus gives perfect wholeness to the man.

The totality of the very faith of Jesus which dwells within Him, is found also dwelling in and working through His Name, so that His Name which represents Him, accomplishes all that pertains to God. All the faith that Jesus has dwells in the believer. It’s all through revelation. The greatest prayer is that of revelation knowledge.

John 4:14  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Greek paraphrase:  A spring fed well continually leaping, gushing, and bubbling up, of its own action.

Jesus, therefore, is the uncovered well within us, which continually without end, leaps, gushes and bubbles up in our spirits, by means OF Christ’s faith (not ours), in response to our faith IN Christ.

John 5:20  For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

Greek: For the Father is fond of the Son and shows Him all things that He does in a way that can be proven and for proof, and greater than these works will he show you with the goal that you may wonder in awe.

Ministers must know that continually, at all moments, the Father is exhibiting within them all that He does in way that the minister can understand and prove the work of God, and then manifest it as proof into the world. If we don’t hear Him, it’s because we are not tuned in to the frequency of the Holy Spirit, who always speaks.

The well is always uncovered, and always gushing and bubbling in us. The rhema word is continually at operation within every believer at all times, and in all places. If we cannot hear the rhema word, we must find out why.

Mat 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

By every rhema word that proceeds from moment to moment out of God’s mouth.

John 7:38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Greek: He that believeth INTO ME.

Oil poured into a motor engine produces in part for the normal operation of the engine.  The more that every action in our lives is focused INTO Jesus, the more that that the “portion- less” and “without measure” bounty of the Spirit dwelling in Jesus will gush out from us.

I will never forget the look of the great golfer, Jack Nicklaus (The Golden Bear) when he was ready to put. His concentration was so intense, that there was no doubt that Jack had totally blocked out the world, the gallery, and TV cameras.  This is what it means to be INTO JESUS.

John 6:29  Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him(INTO HIM) whom he hath sent.

In John 6:29 we find that our success in working the works of God is dependent on how and how much the very actions of our lives are INTO JESUS.

John 5:16  And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day

John 5:17  But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

Worketh  is defined in exactly the same way that a company strives to be successful in producing the services for which it is in business for.

Hitherto: Until now. My Father has been continually at work, producing the services that pertain to the business of the kingdom of God in an unbroken flow, right through all of your Sabbaths; and even now as we speak, He works.

And I work:  I, in like manner.

This is a tremendously important point of instruction for ministers who want to work in the Spirit.

Jesus tells us that we are to work out into the world, what the Father works into us with exactly the same intentions, intensity, and procedures used by the Father. Our ministry must be a carbon copy of the Father’s ministry in us.  Remember that every work of the Father is translated into a rhema word that we can understand.

John 14:10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the rhema words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

The greater our understanding of the intentions, intensity, and procedures used by the Father, the greater will be the manifestation of the flow of the well.

Likewise the operation of the gift of faith gives clarity to the rhema word

Galatians 5:6  For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Greek paraphrase: The only thing, which has strength and ability to prevail and make an eternal impact, is faith; but that faith is only energized, as the works pertaining to it are performed in the spirit of love.

John 9:4  I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work

I must: “It is the necessity in every opportunity that I have”…. to produce the very best I can of the services that pertain to God’s kingdom business.

John 2:1  And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

2  And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

3  And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

A state of lack or deficiency. The greatest miracles of Jesus are done at times, and in places within our lives where we lack, or are deficient in, causing us to lag behind. Beware of the prosperity message that quenches the miracles of Jesus. Or the grace message that says that because God forgives us, we can do as we please.

4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

Greek: Woman, there is nothing in common between you and me.

This is the same mode of expression used by demons in dealing with Jesus, when they confessed to His divinity and authority. Obviously there is no comparison between the godly Mary and the demonic.

Matthew 8:29  And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Mark 1:24  Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

Luke 4:34  Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

In this case, Mary requests Jesus to produce a miracle for the people at the feast.  Jesus gentle rebuke is meant to instruct her that there cannot at any time exist a connection between her earthly wishes, and the will of the Father for His divine mission, as well as the timing of God for the public commencement of Jesus “miracle ministry.”

5  His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

It seems that Mary understands the point and gives her request with reverence and humility.

John 2:9  When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

10  And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

11  This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Miracles:  It should be “signs”.

A sign is the miracle from the viewpoint that authenticates the minister as being sent and at work for God, since God approves of him or her by manifesting His power through them.

A wonder is the same miracle but from the viewpoint of the one who receives the miracle. The purpose of God in producing miracles is to cause its recipient to wonder in amazement that will lead to a later salvation.

Acts 2:19  And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

SIGNS- Bloodshed, war, and catastrophe.

WONDERS- The effects of these SIGNS clouding the sun and the moon.

John 6:26  Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles,(SIGNS) but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

The intention of Jesus rebuke was that the focus of the people was not on the sign given by God (in the feeding of thousands with the barley loaves and fish), which authenticated Him as the “sent one of God.” Instead the people focused on the wonder.

Eph 1:19  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward( INTO) who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Greek: according to the energy put forth by the exerted dominion which God has to subjugate all that is not of Him; this dominion being the result of the strength and ability which dwells within Him?

God’s inner strength is demonstrated by an outward exhibition of dominion to subjugate and conquer all that is not of Him. The process of domination puts forth energy.  This energy is dunamis power, which is funneled into the believer who continually believes and obeys.

I Cor 15:24  Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

A good portion of the Lord’s kingdom works is to dominate and subjugate, so that His kingdom may be displayed.  If a king is to rule effectively over His kingdom, he must do so unhindered and unrestrained. Thus the Lord Jesus is always subduing what is not of Him, so that He can reign unhindered.

The manifested energy put forth as God subdues the evil around Him is dunamis power. The dunamis power of God brings forth the works of the kingdom of God, which consist in subduing the evil, and then restoring, reconciling or harmonizing back into God’s order.

The believer is the piece of land through which God exercises the works of the kingdom. The more that the believer manifests the dunamis power of God, the more is the energy of the subduing power of the Lord Jesus available through the believer to see diseases, demons and acts of nature be dominated and then reconciled.

Eph 3:20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Jesus performs above and beyond the mode of superabundance in proportion to the dunamis power energized within the believer.

Because the believer is the piece of land through which God executes the works of the kingdom, God’s ability to perform to “His fullest” (which always exceeds superabundance; this is God’s normal mode of working) is limited to the quantity and quality of dunamis power flowing through the believer.

This dunamis power is God’s energy to dominate and to subjugate all that is not of Him, thus bringing forth His kingdom unhindered; but the manifestation of the kingdom is limited by the dunamis power flowing through the minister which subdues all evils so that the kingdom may be manifested in the first place. The dunamis power of limited to the presence of the Christ within us.

1 Cor 12:6  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh (energizes) all in all. (every aspect of every believer’s life)

Secondly, the energy put forth by God’s dunamis power is limited to how much God can fill every aspect of the believer’s life with this dunamis power.

This requires that the believer yield every aspect of his or her life to the Lord.

The more that the believer yields to the cross, the more that the Lord is allowed to energize the believer with this dunamis power as it fills every part of the believer’s life.

Dunamis power, the product of the dominion of God’s strength, is manifested as the diversities of operations.

Diversities of operations are the variety of works of the kingdom now energized by dunamis power to make them fully operational and fully displayed in the world. They are exhibited in a diversity of ways through the different circumstances and personalities of the believers displaying them.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal

The manifestation of the Spirit is the visible outcome of the diversities of operations.

The residing inner strength or ability of God is always manifested outwardly by His subjugating or subduing dominion to put down all which is not of Him

The purpose of subduing all evil is for God to bring forth His kingdom unhindered and unchallenged in the land owned by His kingdom; the believer.

The energy put forth by the process of dominating and putting down is called dunamis power.

Dunamis power is what is funneled into the believer not only to bring forth the works of the kingdom by subduing and then restoring.

 Eph3:16  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

By the Spirit to have the dominating ability produced by the funneling of dunamis power into our inner man

17  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

So that Christ may dwell in your hearts.(through this dominating ability)

Dunamis power is also what reveals Jesus in the believer as this same power subdues all that is not of God within the believer. Jesus comes to a place where He can dwell or live in control and peace within the believer, because there is no evil to challenge or hinder Him anymore.

The greater the dunamis power within the believer, the greater will be the subduing of evil. The greater the subduing of evil results in the greater ability that Jesus has to dwell because His revelation within the believer is now greater.

The energy put out by the dunamis power is called the diversity of operations resulting in the manifestation of the Spirit to profit all.

The supreme function of any local assembly is to reveal the Person of Christ in its midst by His glory.

The glory of God is the invisible God made visible.

The revealed Christ, in His glory, through the instrumentality of the operation of all the ministries within a local assembly, is lifted up and draws all men unto Himself.  This is called a revival of religion.

Revival is not a one time “revival meeting.”  A revival of religion is the ongoing and continuing process of the revelation of the Person of Christ through a local assembly.  The continuing manifestation of the glory of Christ by a local assembly of believers, allows Christ to draw more and more of the surrounding community unto Himself, permanently changing the community itself.

For this to happen it takes EVERY MEMBER of the local assembly to be effectively reveal the Christ through his or her ministry.  There are no exceptions!

Eph 4:15  but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, even Christ;

Greek: But (every member of a local assembly) speaking (teaching, prophecy, ministry) the reality of the Word of God, as a confession of what is really in within their lives because they are living out the gospel with accurateness, grows up INTO CHRIST in all aspects of their lives.

16  from whom all the body fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in due measure of each several part, maketh the increase of the body unto the building up of itself in love.

From the Christ who is being revealed in proportion to how an assembly grows into Him, the assembly originates all of its ministries, which are rooted in His revelation, as Christ’s directs and call people into ministry from His revealed presence or glory.

To “fitly frame” is the effective operations of all ministries by all members within a local assembly. This causes the full revelation of the Person of Christ, as His revelation is ‘fitted properly together” by the ministries of all the parishioners. When I talk about ministries, I am usually speaking of those which makes use of the charismatic gifts that were spoken about above, so that the Spirit who always bears witness of Christ may be manifested, revealing Him.

To “knit together” is the product of the revelation of Christ by the “fitly framing” of ministries, which have properly fitted His revelation. The awe of His revelation unites the congregation in love, knitting their hearts together. True unity in the body of Christ is only found in the unity of His revelation. The knitting together of all hearts brings a deeper revelation of not only Christ, but of the Godhead, allowing the local assembly to come to the revelation of the height, and breadth, of the love of Christ, until everyone is fully filled with Christ.

Every joint supplieth. This is incorrect. “Every joint of supply.”

“To supply” originates from the root of a Greek word which is defined as furnishing a chorus liberally with all that it needs. Every joint of supply is each member of a local body as he or she effectively supplies the revelation of the Son of God through their ministries to manifest the Spirit.

According to the working in due measure of each several part

Greek paraphrase: The revelation of Christ is limited to the energy (that will make His revelation fully operational) put forth by the quantity and quality of the “measure of supply” through each of the parishioners’ charismatic ministries.

Metamorphosis

The supreme profession is that of becoming one with the Lord Jesus. This union or oneness with God takes place by the process of transformation.  The transformation is that of “metamorphosis” or the same progression that takes place when a butterfly emerges from a caterpillar, which emerged from a cocoon.

2 Corinthians 3:18  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Greek: But we all with our face uncovered (Though our faces have been uncovered at our conversion.

A believer that has an “open” face is who is yielded to the Lord and gladly obeys Him.  They welcome all that God has for them; their faces are opened to His dealings.

The person who has a “closed face” is one who secretly does not receive another, and is in opposition or disagreement with that other, judging them in their heart.

The glory of the Lord beholding as in a mirror (Quite the opposite to Moses who did not have a spiritual mirror to capture and behold the glory of the Lord that would thoroughly transform him!

The Old Covenant was transient and not permanent as the New Covenant inaugurated in the blood of Jesus Christ was.

Thus Moses covered his face, which had the passing glory of God on it. Christ is our spiritual mirror allowing us permanently capture and behold the glory of God that will thoroughly transform us, as long as our faces remain opened towards Him.

To that very same image which Jesus has are we being metamorphosed out of glory and into (the next level) glory, even as from the Spirit of the Lord.

The transformation that God calls us to is the progressive and complete extinction of our carnal self-life which has been our image, to be replaced by, as it is transformed into, the image of Christ,  the self- life of God.

The person who is conformed to the image of Christ has become a participant of the very life of God, and a channel for God to flow into the world.

Romans 8:29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed( Greek: To assume the same form) to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Rom 6:6  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

That the body of sin might be destroyed.

That the body which is made up of sin (Our self-life) might break down and become useless and nonfunctional.

That henceforth we should not serve sin.   In the breaking down and the non-functioning of the carnal self-life we become released from the slavery or dominance of sin.

God has made every one to be an individual.

Every one of us has been created with a unique self-life that makes you, you, and me, me.  As people, we have been created into the image of God.  Because the image of God is the self-life of God, we were all created as individuals to participate in God’s life.

Our self-life rooted and one with God’s self-life, is for us to take part to very extent that God does Himself in the liberty, wholeness, love, joy, and wisdom that God enjoys, and makes Him God.

When sin came into the world our self-life was thoroughly infected by it. The first assault on humanity by sin was to sever our self-life from that of God, because God cannot entertain sin. The life, which Adam and Eve had lived in utter dependency rooted in God’s self-life, was in one instance cut off.  Man and woman became alienated from the life of God.

Ephesians 4:18  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

Greek:  On account of the hardness of their hearts (towards God) there is a void of knowledge in them which has permanently separated them from intimacy and fellowship with the Lord and has permanently darkened their thoughts that concern God.

Man and woman, now live out of a self-life which is laden with uncontrolled lusts, devastating bondages, paralyzing fears and the deception.

As God lives out of His self-life, every individual life’s is the product of the self-life that defines them.

Because our self-lives have been corrupted by sin, our daily lives receive a never-ending flow of rejection, fear, lusts, and bondage from the root system of the self.

This is why people whom have not become born again are slaves to sin.

Romans 6:20  For when ye were the servants ( Slaves) of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

The purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to restore people to the exact condition which Adam and Eve had before the fall. When we are conformed to the image of Christ we are transformed to live out of God’s self-life once again.

To be fully conformed to the image of God we must love nothing else than God Himself and love only the things which God wills for us to love.  Our lives must devote to minister solely to God and wish with the strongest of love to become one with Him. Any ministry that we do is the sole outcome of our ministry to Jesus and what the Lord speaks to us out of those times with Him.

We must forget all things in this life that do not pertain to our union with the Lord and those things, which He wants to love through us.

The smallest love that we entertain outside of loving God and wanting to die completely to self to become one with Him, will impede our complete transformation into His image.  This is because any love that we harbor outside of God is rooted in our corrupt self-life.  Our self-life has no other sentence placed upon it than to die.

Any other love that we hold on outside of loving God and working out what He loves, feeds our self-life and prevents it from dying, keeping us in bondage.

Romans 7:18  For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Union with God will never be attained by our knowledge of God.  It is impossible to know God through our mental or spiritual understanding of the scriptures. Only through the simple love of God that I have described above can we become one with the Lord and know and understand Him as we take part in His very life and bear witness to it.

If we place our ministry, and our church agendas before our ministry to the Lord and our simple love to be conformed into His image, we feed our carnal self-life and will remain in bondage no matter how noble our intentions.

Our apostleship and ministry is simply the fruit of our union with the Lord, not the other way around.

 Romans 12:2  And <2532> be not <3361> conformed <4964> ) to this <5129>  world <165>: but <235> be ye transformed <3339> ) by the renewing <342> of your <5216> mind  <3563>, that <1519> ye <5209> may prove <1381>) what <5101> is that good <18>, and <2532> acceptable <2101>, and <2532> perfect <5046>, will <2307> of God <2316>

If you notice the numbers within the brackets< >, these are the numbers found in your Strong’s concordance that help you expound on the Greek word translations.  I encourage you to use them.

“Transform” or # 3339 is our word “metamorphosis”.

Remember the example of the lowly caterpillar being transformed into the beautiful butterfly.  Metamorphosis?  What about the tadpole being transformed into a frog?  Total and radical change!  Guess what?  That is exactly what the Lord desires out of our lives.

The death of ourselves on the cross and the resurrection life of our Lord within us should be so extraordinary, that we all become lovely and free butterflies for His glory.

Unrecognizable as a tadpole is from a frog because Jesus lives so big in us, should find us with no former remembrance of our “tadpolish” existence.  At least that should be our goal.

 Matthew 17:2  And <2532> was transfigured <3339>) before <1715> them <846>: and  <2532> his <846> face <4383> did shine <2989> as <5613> the sun <2246>, and <1161> his <846> raiment <2440> was <1096> white <3022> as <5613> the light <5457

The transfiguration of the Lord Jesus before the apostles?  Look at the Strong’s number. We see the same # 3339.  In other words, Jesus was “metamorphosed” before his disciples.  This type of spiritual transfiguration should be ours.  Then all men will be drawn unto Jesus.  Look at the next instance of metamorphosis.

2 Corinthians 3:18  But <1161> we <2249> all <3956>, with open <343>) face <4383> beholding as in a glass <2734>  the glory <1391> of the Lord <2962>, are changed <3339> into the same <846> image <1504> from <575> glory <1391> to <1519> glory <1391>, even as <2509> by <575> the Spirit <4151> of the Lord <2962>.

The “open face” in this passage defines the believer that is totally yielded and surrendered to the Lord. Only then is his face totally open and full of light, with no lurking sin or disobedience that will cause him to hide or close his face in shame or guilt to Jesus.

Let me direct your attention back please to our first scripture, Roman 12:2.  The word “conformed”(#4964) is defined as our word “schematic or drawing”.

Metamorphosis produces an inward change, while a drawing changes only the outward picture.  Paul then admonishes us, not to follow the world that will change only the outward form of our lives and that adversely, without producing a beneficial and permanent inward change.  On the other hand a life centered on God’s word will metamorphosise us from the inside out.

2 Corinthians 11:13  For <1063> such <5108> are false apostles <5570>, deceitful <1386> workers <2040> , transforming themselves <3345> <1519> the apostles <652> of Christ <5547>

 2 Corinthians 11:14  And <2532> no <3756> marvel <2298>; for <1063> Satan <4567> himself <846> is transformed <3345> into <1519> an angel <32> of light <5457>.

Look at the two previous highlighted scriptures with # 3345.  This Greek word is another off shoot of the word “schematic or drawing”.  We can see the perils of only being changed superficially.  The first scripture describes “wolves in sheep clothing” while the second one shows us one of Satan’s ploys.  In both instances there is no true inward change, but only the superficial alteration of something that eventually deceives.

Matthew 10:39  He that findeth <2147> (5631) his <846> life <5590> shall lose <622>   it <846>: and <2532> he that loseth <622> ) his <846> life <5590> for my <1700> sake <1752>  shall find <2147>  it <846>.

Look at the phrase “loseth his life”.  Simply defined, it means total destruction, laid to ruin, waste, and annihilation. Wow!!

Matthew 16:24  Then <5119> said <2036>  Jesus <2424> unto his <846> disciples <3101>, If any <1536> man will <2309>  come <2064> (5629) after <3694> me <3450>, let him deny  <533> himself <1438>, and <2532> take up <142> (5657) his <846> cross <4716>, and <2532>  follow <190> me <3427>.

“Denying ourselves,” tells us that we must lose sight of ourselves, and every one of our interests that do not glorify Jesus.   Only then can we be his disciples!

How few disciples are there really are according to Jesus’ stringent definition.  Scary!
