An Angel Standing in the Sun

Re 19:17  Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the great supper of God,

How powerful is the sun?

In Revelations an angel is standing in it.

Hebrews 1:13  But of which of the angels has he said at any time, Take your seat at my right hand till I put all those who are against you under your feet?

The Christian is given a seat with Christ on His throne at his right hand.

Angels do not have this honor!

Who is ultimately more powerful, they or us?

 Philippians 3:10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

The power belonging to a resurrection life which will last forever is greater than the power of the sun, which one day dies.

God will remove both sun and moon and His glory will be left.

Paul’s pursuit was to know the Christ in him experientially and progressively.

Secondly, was his quest to know the power belonging to Christ’s resurrection experientially and progressively.

This amazing power is gradually revealed as we obey.

It’s not what we do, but what Christ does through us.

It’s our observation of God’s resurrection power at work in us that is key to victory.

Someday our knowledge of this power will allow us to stand in the sun if it’s still there.

How much power do you have in you? Is it enough to stand in the sun?

Make it your goal to progressively and experientially know Christ’s resurrection power.

This is no easy task.

It takes time with Jesus.

Yet, very few things matter as much.

An Eternal Loss

Our church model of  passivity and complacency creates Christians who never press in to discover and mature in their spiritual gifts. Our churches are full of people who are not contributing their part of bringing in the fullness of God.  Because the church is one body made of up of many members, complacent people rob others  of  the benefit of the fullness of God that should had been manifested through them. It is an eternal loss for God, His church and the world.

The Face of Christ

Rev 1:16  And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword: and his face was like the sun shining in its strength.

Our faces are mirrors of our souls.

Many of our faces exhibit pain, rejection, and insecurity.

But look at the face of the resurrected Christ in the above verse.

It’s the face of the unclouded sun, shining in all of its strength.

Can you look at the sun and not go blind?

Have we being co raised with Christ?

It’s reasonable then that our face should reflect an unclouded soul brightly discharging the glory of Christ.

Alas, how desperately we need our minds renewed by the Word of God.

One bad thing that the social media has created, is make us into entertainment hogs who laugh at dumb You Tube videos behind this face of pain and sickness.

If wed watch less and study God’s Word more, we could manifest a face like the sun shining in all of its strength. It’s called the face of Christ.

Unbridling The Horse

Rev 1:5  and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and who washed us from our sins in His own blood,

The Greek word “washed us” is to be loosed, unbridled or unharnessed.

Just as the horse is unbridled and unharnessed, the Christian has been unbridled and unharnessed from sin, pain and sickness.

For many, though we have been loosed, unharnessed, and unbridled, and Jesus has slapped us in the butt so that we scamper out of the stable of pain and infirmity, we remain in that tiny place, eating the grass of despair and pain.

Gluttony By Reason of Anxiety

I was scared to weigh myself after the Christmas holidays. I am amazed that I lost one and half pounds. It must be the grace of God. Now 37 pounds lighter, my life is being transformed, and God is using me in ways that He could not before, because of the sin of gluttony. In one way or another, face your fears. One scientific observation from this modification in eating is that we humans require much less food than what we consume. It’s a deception that many of us fall into.  I call it gluttony by reason of anxiety.

The Emperor’s New Clothes

Ro 13:12  The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on <1746> the armour of light.

Ro 13:14  But put ye on <1746> the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

1Co 15:53  For this corruptible must put on <1746> incorruption, and this mortal must put on <1746> immortality.

1Co 15:54  So when this corruptible shall have put on <1746> incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on <1746> immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

2Co 5:3  If so be that being clothed <1746> we shall not be found naked.

Ga 3:27  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on <1746> Christ.

Eph 4:24  And that ye put on <1746> the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Eph 6:11  Put on <1746> the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Eph 6:14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on <1746> the breastplate of righteousness;

Col 3:10  And have put on <1746> the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Col 3:12  Put on <1746> therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

1Th 5:8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on <1746> the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

Re 1:13  And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment <1746> down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

Re 15:6  And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed <1746> in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

Re 19:14  And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed <1746> in fine linen, white and clean.

Strong’s Word # 1746 literally means to sink or plunge into new clothes.

The one who follows Jesus Christ has been unclothed of her sinful nature and has slipped into the clothes of the resurrection life

It’s not enough to know that you have been unclothed from the old and clothed with the new. You need to have an  in-depth understanding of your resurrection clothes.

We humans have been clothed so long in sinful clothes that our knowledge is primarily of what we have taken off. Even then, these old clothes, though now removed,  hang on to us like bees swarm to honey.

This is called mistaken identity.

Once the old come off there must be a systematic education  of what we now wear.

Note that for death to be swallowed up in victory there has to be a meticulous accounting of our new resurrection clothes

In the short fable by Hans Christian Andersen, the emperor was promised new clothes, but was in fact naked after being swindled by two tailors.

Though we are arrayed in the glorious apparel of resurrection many will end up like the emperor and his new clothes, that though he we are sovereigns in Christ, we march before the world naked through the un renewing of our minds.

Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power (dunamis power) to us-ward who believe, according to the working (energy; energia) of his mighty (outward dominion; kratos) power (inner strength; ischus)

CONFIDENCE in God’s voice is the catalyst of energy that releases the power of God.

2 Cor 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto ( My Father never ceases working in the Spirit) and I work.(and I work externally, using exactly the same procedures and in exactly the same manner in which I see instinctively the Father working within me.)

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth (To habitually glance at what the Father does in the Spirit. This is not discernment with understanding) the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. ( Greek word “homos”)

John 5:20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add ( you shall not cause an addition or an exaggeration to what the Lord has spoken) unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish( subtract, withdraw, or to hold back) ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Num 22:18 And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond ( pass over or cross over to the other side of; like crossing over a river ) the word ( Hebrew: the mouth) of the LORD my God, to do less or more.(to do the insignificant or what is great.)
