Some Thoughts On Benghazi, The Twin Towers, and The Scriptures on This 9/11.

Photos are at the end of the blog.

As we commemorate 9/11, this is a bench in a nearby church where firemen slept during the search operation for the dead of the twin towers collapse.

Secondly, we commemorate the attack one year ago on the Benghazi, Libya American Embassy. The USA government, the most powerful and sophisticated in the world has offered one theory in one year as to why the attack occurred, mainly a You Tube Video.

Let us remember these two fateful events in American history, and let us learn the value of history, which is to learn from it, and avoid past errors.

There is no mention of the 9/11 attack on our embassy in Benghazi, Libya. Equally tragic to the Twin Towers, but for different reasons.

2 Cor 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

I say that the veil was taken away at my conversion. True, but the veil of double mindedness, vacillation between the old and the new creation, unbelief to accept and live God’s Word, has remained since 1979. My face has not been uncovered from unbelief.

To behold in a glass is to intently gaze at the glory of the Lord as it reflects in a mirror before me. Many a time what has reflected has been the old identity, the image of who I was, and not Christ’s. Since all in God’s kingdom is reckoned or credited by faith, for many years I have credited both the old and the new, and must say that I have not attained to victory. Today as I sought the Lord, He said, “the veil of double mindedness has remained over your face, and the mirror of my glory has only shone opaquely for you. I trust that this revelation has freed me.

2 Cor 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken <4014>away.

Ac 27:40 And when they had taken up <4014> the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

2 Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The vail shall be taken away is the same as taken up the anchors. It is to remove something which is around something else.

Today, God showed me that after 34 years, there has still been a veil of double mindedness both over my mind and heart. This veil has prohibited me from once and for all receiving the image and identity of Christ. I’ve said that I have this identity but when push comes to shove, I have vacillated between the old and the new even till this day. This has prevented me from really experiencing verse 17; “there is liberty.”

1Co 15:52 In a moment ( atomoo), in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed .

A moment, comes from the compound atomoo, or something that is so tiny that it cannot be cut into something smaller. Hence our word, “atom.”

The scripture can be translated as

1Co 15:52 In an atom of time, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be transformed.

God indeed can work in an atom of time, or above time; a fragment of time so small it can’t be cut anymore. What does that mean to you and me?

1Co_15:49. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the heavenly.

Interesting scripture. Some ancient texts have our bearing of the heavenly image in the future active indicative indicating a done deal. “We shall also bear”

Others have it as the volitive aorist active subjunctive describing an act of our will, and translated as: Let us bear”

Either way I find it powerful. None of us can put on the image of the heavenly as a pure act of our will. It’s no doubt that in heaven those within will have a glorified body. At the same time so much of what we do now to come into this process of transformation comes as an act of our wills as we obey the voice of the Holy Spirit.

“We shall also bear” and “let us bear” are both in play. How I love the original languages.

What if the un churched say this of you, “thank you for your generous loving spirit and unconditional acceptance of whom I am!”

Reaching out to those outside the church has become a medicine that if I don’t take I’ll shrivel up spiritually.

Washington DC has given a permit for “The One Million Muslim March” on 9/11 but has denied the “Two Million Bikers To DC” on the same day.

If you are obedient to the Lord most of the deepest and most difficult trials are nothing else than the materials which God uses to forge the ministries that He will use to touch the world through you.

1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Paul, the genius par excellence, in his usual play of words.

The first Adam became a living soul when he became the passive receptor of the breath of God in him.

The last Adam, Christ Jesus, is a quickening, life giving and vivifying breath or spirit. Whereas the person pre Christ is the receptor of the life giving breath of God, the person with Christ is no longer the receptor of the life giving breath, but carries inside The Very One who imparts this vivifying breath to him, and through him, to others

2Co 9:10 Now he that ministereth <2023> seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

Ga 3:5 He therefore that ministereth <2023> to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Col 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered <2023>, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth <2024>, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Php 1:19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply <2024> of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

Whether epichoregia ( 2024) the noun, or epichoregeo ( 2023) the verb, both talk about abundant , excessive supply or provision. The Greek idea was to provide a choir or chorus of singers with everything that was needed for a journey to sing. Case in point, the Spirit of God is a constant supplier or provider with all that we need. Personal freedom is freedom in the Spirit for this constant river of supply to flow endlessly out of you to others. What differentiates a Christian from other people is the endless flow of love of blessings which they have to give out. This is why personal freedom is so vital. If the Christian is not free what makes him different to anybody else?

For I Pad users. There is new and excellent New Testament Bible app. It costs about 10 dollars. It’s the Scripture Direct Greek Interlinear Bible. This app uses the Louw Nidia Greek Lexicon with Semantic Domains. In 25 years of studying the Greek this is the best and most comprehensive lexicon describing every Greek NT word in their semantic definitions. For me this is becoming an invaluable tool of revelation knowledge. At the end of the day, its revelation knowledge which sets us free.

You gotta see that the Christ that you are growing into, in all things, through your revelation knowledge of Him, is limitless, supernatural, transcendental, a supply coming from an endless fount of blessings. He follows the laws of metamorphosis and you are metamorphosed into Him without limit. Christ does not follow natural laws in this. When Paul talks about growing into Christ in all things, he uses the subjunctive mood. This mood talks about things becoming not automatically but conditionally as an act of the will. In other words, its up to us how far we want to go. God will take us far as we want into this process which will consume you in His fire and transform you into what God is.\

We gotta stop talking about the harvest and go reap the harvest, for the harvest is here.

I saw a post by John Boehner, the GOP head of the Congress. I browsed through 50 of the comments. All of them were intensely critical. Wow, the GOP is in trouble. Mass exodus it seems!

I was looking at am article on the Senate Roll Call on the Syria vote. The whole article was based on this vote being election issue for the senators. I find this so disgustingly sad. People not voting their morals and convictions, but trading what is right or wrong for votes. If I was a politician, I would vote according to the voice of God, my conscience, and my Biblical convictions regardless if I got elected or not. If I did not get elected Id know that God had something better for me. Leading by what the outcome of an election will be, is not leadership.

Tips on neighboring. Do your computer stuff efficiently and quickly and get out to meet your neighbor. Stop texting and looking down at your smart phone and begin looking up and engaging your neighbor. Technology has become a way for us to hide into our comfort zone. In Bogota, no one texts so that they can socialize with their neighbor. There is a whole world waiting to meet you, when you look up. Make it a habit to let the car that is trying to come into your street come in. Inconvenience yourself. Don’t go to the ATM machine to deposit your check. Got to the window teller and be friendly to him or her. When you stop at a fast food place, ask the server how his or her day is going and bless them, if possible. Technology is a horrible temptation for us to withdraw into our natural hermit like existence, isolate ourselves, forget our neighbor, and miss out on what God has for us. God is a people God. Finally, if you are a Christian please stop socializing only with church folk. Many blessings on your new adventures.

I have set a repeating and endless event in my Google calendar and I have entitled it Starbucks. Not that I will go to Starbucks every day. This is a reminder that I must habitually get out of the walls of my home and church and meet my neighbor. Failure to do so will short circuit what the Lord wants to do.

I saw The Butler yesterday and walked out of the theater. My hope was to see entertainment with a reasonable degree of accuracy. It turned to be politically skewed film with a political message to influence the undiscerning. I don’t go to a movie, which is rare for me, to be politically influenced by producers who have a political agenda. Entertainment should stay as entertainment.

“And It was so” This phrase is the tiny Hebrew word “Ken”, which is the modern Hebrew word for yes.

What does this tell you about God and the certainty of what He tells you as coming to pass?

Ge 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. (Yes)

Ge 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. (Yes)

Ge 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. (Yes)

Ge 1:15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. (Yes)

Ge 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. (Yes)

Ge 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. (Yes)

The Quote Of The 21st Century

“I want people to understand that gassing innocent people, you know, delivering chemical weapons against children, is not something we do,

To my friends on the left, I ask you to reconcile your belief in freedom and dignity for all people with those images of children writhing in pain and going still on a cold hospital floor, for sometimes resolutions and statements of condemnation are simply not enough. Barack Obama

Mr. Obama is describing abortions !  I thought he was the most radically abortion minded president we’ve ever had?  Has he become pro life? I am confused!

The following links are pictorials of the “real victims” of chemical weapons attacks. Syria and everything else is crap!

Do The Parties Really Exist?

I will not get political, but I think that there is something for us the common American folk that bears watching.

Jesus said that we will know what is in people by their repeated habit patterns, or as He calls it, fruit.

For many years, but now more than ever, the Republicans and the Democrats may squabble on the floors of the Capitol and Senate. Yet, when it comes time for The Vote, especially on major issues, they mysteriously come together and usually vote alike.

Look at Syria, budget issues, spying, taxes, and presidential nominations.  Most of Washington politicians are like TV wrestlers. They beat each other up in a bloody pulp in front of the screen but off it they are best of buddies. I am suspicious that Republican and Democrats are just the same way. They use the American public as pawns while behind the scenes they are much more in sync than what you and I think, and are working towards one agenda which I am not sure what it is. Globalist, socialist or as Matt Drudge called it today, authoritarian?

The parties in many ways don’t really exist. We need to, whether liberals or conservatives, wisen up, for we are being played more than what we think.

I leave you with Matt Drudge’s Face Book Status

“It’s now Authoritarian vs. Libertarian. Since Democrats vs. Republicans has been obliterated, no real difference between parties…
Why would anyone vote Republican? Please give reason. Raised taxes; marching us off to war again; approved more NSA snooping. WHO ARE THEY?! “

Straining Out The Unconstitutional Gnat To Swallow the Unconstitutional Camel.

Matt 23: 24  Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

The brouhaha  with the constitutionality or lack thereof of government initiated prayer or religious symbols on government property made me think.

It’s amusing that those who raise up this stink only have a constitutional problem with the things of God.

What about the unconstitutionality of government officials lying under oath?

And the unconstitutionality of scandals, or penalizing the exempt status of conservative groups, based on doctrinal differences with the government?

What about the unconstitutionality of Benghazi, or Fast and Furious?

Or  the  unconstitutionality of taking private donations to fund Obama care?

Or the unconstitutionality of news organizations being wire tapped?

Where is their voice then?

If  they are so focused on guarding the constitutionality of our Constitution, they should be the vanguard of these bigger issues. I never hear them complain about the corruption, lies, or scandal plaguing our government.

Matt 23:23  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Well said it Jesus. These folk deliberate  the conflict with prayer and omit the weightier matters which encroach  our Constitution.

The one thing that can fix the scandals and lies is changed hearts by repentance to God. Yet this is the thing that they attack as unconstitutional.

Matt 23:25  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

26  Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, which the outside of them may be clean also.

These folks want the veneer of  clean separation of church and state to adorn the outside of the government cup and platter, while winking at the  extortion and excesses within them.

They  don’t care about unconstitutionality.

If they did, they would be in pandemonium with all the unconstitutionalities being perpetrated.

But no, the issue is not unconstitutionality.

It goes deeper.

There are unfortunate experiences with a church, pastor, or parent , which has caused wounds so deep that now it must be projected upon the rest of us.

It’s not their civil rights, but ours, which they try to silence.

These folks need to come to the very God whom they try to make unconstitutional.

He is the only one who can set them free.

Matt 23: 24  Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Amen to Jesus!

These people strain out the gnat of  unconstitutional government led prayer, while swallowing the unconstitutional camel of scandals, deceit and extortion.

This is not only hypocrisy, but ulterior intentions and motives with agenda, many times, political.

If you want to talk to me about the unconstitutionality of public prayer let me see you take charge of the unconstitutionality of these weightier problems.

You say that the Constitution is of great importance  to you?

Let me see it first with the matters of corruption before the matters of the One who can set us free from them.

It seems like you have things backwards, my friend.

I am sorry to say, if you are not willing to tackle the bigger constitutional issues, while attacking prayer and religious symbols, I am not very much interested in talking to you.

If There Is No Speed Sign Did I Break The Law?

Rom 7:1  Brethren, do you not know—for I am writing to people acquainted with the Law—that it is during our lifetime that we are subject to the Law?

Paul begins his discussion on the “Law of Moses” by comparing it to a marriage of two people.

In the New Testament, the Law is symbolic of our attempts to please God, or serve Him, outside of the direct voice of the Holy Spirit.

Thus we come to serve the Lord through our own efforts, agendas, and strength.  This is The Law.

The Law of Moses was comprised of 643 laws.

God knew that it was impossible for the Jews to keep them. Yet, look at what God tells us about keeping His laws. If we break one of His laws, we have broken them all.

Do you think that God expected us to follow these laws perfectly? Of course not.

God has another way.

Lev 19:37  Therefore shall ye observe all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD.

James 2:10  For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

In the voice of the Holy Spirit however, resides the law of faith, which enables us to believe and act upon the given promises of God through His voice to bring them into existence. This is the true meaning of grace.

Grace, is the supernatural power of God for us to obey Him, rather than a license for us to do as we feel.

Ro 3:27  Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

In the voice of God resides the rhema or living Word of God.

Heb 12:19  And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of rhemas which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

Every rhema word, or every utterance of the voice of the Spirit, has resident and active within it the law of faith to make the specific rhema word come to pass.

Ro 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the rhema of God.

Rom 10:6  But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

7  Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

8  But what saith it? The rhema is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the rhema of faith, which we preach;

The rhema word reveals Christ.

Joh 17:8  For I have given unto them the rhemas which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

In the person of Christ resides grace.  Grace is what sets us free from the bondage of sin. Grace is the superhuman labor of God revealed to us in proportion to how much we obey God. Grace is more abundantly given so that we can obey God to a greater measure.

Rom 6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Romans 7: 2  A wife, for instance, whose husband is living is bound to him by the Law; but if her husband dies the law that bound her to him has now no hold over her.

Paul compares the law to a marriage between a man and a woman.

Paul tells us that a wife is bound to the law of a marriage between her and her spouse.  he law of marriage constrains both partners to remain with each other “till death do them part.”

Another bounding agreement of this marriage law is that it affords no provision for marital infidelity in between these two people.

However if the husband dies, the wife then becomes free from the marriage law and can re-marry again.

3  This accounts for the fact that if during her husband’s life she lives with another man, she will be stigmatized as an adulteress; but that if her husband is dead she is no longer under the old prohibition, and even though she marries again, she is not an adulteress.

4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

Verse four is of supreme importance to the victorious Christian life.  Let us look at it carefully.

Ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ;

Through the death of Christ we have become dead to “the Law.”

As the wife became released from the law of marriage at the death of her husband, so we became released from “The Law” at the death of Christ.  This means that we are released from serving the Lord by our own strength, out of condemnation, guilt, performance, our own agendas and programs, into a simple walk of attaining to all the promises and blessings of God through the voice of the Holy Spirit.

4  that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead.

Here lies the beauty of walking simply by the voice of the Spirit of God.  Now that we have been released from serving God through “The Law” by the death of Christ, we are free to re- marry.  Our remarriage is to no one else than Christ Himself.

In this remarriage, we are espoused even to him who is raised from the dead.

Christ now abiding in the power of resurrection life cannot be touched by sin or bondage of any kind.  Our remarriage now to Christ means that we no longer serve God out of our strength, performance, or agendas.  We now live our Christian lives simply out of the voice of the Spirit in the power of Christ’s resurrection life.  This is the only way to bear lasting fruit unto the Lord.

That we should bring forth fruit unto God.

Is it any mystery that our lives and our churches are so powerless and caught in the web of dead programs and the yield of little fruit?

We continue to serve God under The Law, and our own agendas, though in fact we have been released from it.  Why do we still live in this deception?  It is because we have not allowed the Lord to take us through Romans Six.

5  For whilst we were under the thraldom of our earthly natures, sinful passions— made sinful by the Law—were always being aroused to action in our bodily faculties that they might yield fruit to death.

God’s purpose for giving us the more than 600 laws under Moses, (as I said called “The Law”), had nothing to do with us ever keeping them!  This includes the Ten Commandments!

Are the Ten Commandments then bad, or is the Law of Moses wrong, and they should not be followed?  ABSOLUTELY NOT!!

All the laws of God are good!  The answer lies in that were never supposed to obey The Law through our own strength!  The Law was given by God to point out to us and expose our sinfulness!

Therefore the more that we try to obey God in our own strength, the more that we will end up sinning.  The answer to our deliverance is found in the following scriptures.

Ro 8:4  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Ro 10:4  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Both of these scriptures are similar to each other.  What is noteworthy about these scriptures is that The Law is good and that God expects it to be followed and fulfilled perfectly.  However its fulfillment cannot and will not occur through our own efforts.

As we die to self through the operation of the cross of Christ, the person of Christ is revealed in us.  As the person of Christ is revealed within us, the voice of the Spirit becomes more defined and clearer within us.  It is the presence of the revealed Person of Christ who is the end of the law.  The fulfillment of the law comes to those who walk in the Spirit after the Voice of the Lord.

The resurrection life of the Lord found in the revealed Person of Christ, is what purifies us and makes us holy so that we end up naturally birthing and fulfilling the Law within us without our trying, but through our dying!

Our only responsibility is to obey the voice of God as perfectly as we can.  The Law will become naturally fulfilled in us through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit in the completed work of Jesus Christ.

Our lives will become an example of the accomplished law of God in the beauty of the presence of the revealed Person of Christ. Or the fulfillment of the law, is the fully revealed Person of Christ.

·Can you see now why our churches and our Christian lives lie in such shambles?

It is because we refuse to die with Christ on the cross so that the person of Christ may be revealed.  We continue to operate by the Law in our efforts, plans, committees, and agendas.  Little do we know that living and operating in this realm will only birth and activate more sin, more powerlessness, more frustration more dead programs, and much sowing and little reaping. We fulfill the law of God, not in perspiration, but in revelation.

Once again to reiterate; the purpose of the Law is to expose our sinfulness to us.

Ro 7:8  But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

Without “The Law” we would never know our sinfulness and or be responsible for it.

The Speeding Ticket

Let us assume that you are speeding down an expressway through a country that you have never visited before.  In your worry to obey the speeding laws, you habitually look at the sides of the highway trying to spot the speed signs.  To your dismay however, nothing appears that will help you.  Suddenly from your rear emerge the ominous flashing red and blue lights of the summoning you to pull over for speeding.  You calmly protest to the officer that there were absolutely no speed signs visible to let you know what the speed ought to be.  The police officer sees your point, kindly admonishes you with the needed information, and lets you go without a citation.  With the absence of these signs, you had no concept of what the speed limit was, and were not held responsible to obey it, even though you had just finished breaking the law!

Ro 7:6  But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

The Law has now no hold over us, so that we render a service which, instead of being old and formal, is new and spiritual.

Our Christian lives should now work solely out of the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Our marriage to The Law has now once and for all been terminated.  Yet most believers continue to live and die in this fantasy marriage!

7   What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. For instance, I should not have known what covetousness is, if the Law had not repeatedly said, “Thou shalt not covet.”

This is exactly what we discussed in verse five!  The purpose of the law is to expose, describe, and define sin in its utter sinfulness!

8  Sin took advantage of this, and by means of the Commandment stirred up within me every kind of coveting; for apart from Law sin would be dead.

As with the story of the speeding ticket; without speeding signs visible on an interstate highway, we are not responsible for breaking the speeding law, simply out of sheer ignorance.

In other words, without the visibility of these signs, our responsibility to keep the proper speed is dead or non-existent.

Without “The Law” likewise, we would never know sin, or what types of sins in the eyes of God.

God could no convict us of sin, because we were ignorant to the fact that we had sin or were even sinning!

9  Once, apart from Law, I was alive, but when the Commandment came, sin sprang into life, and I died;

Without The Law the knowledge of sin was non-existent.   This made sin not to be apparent, so it was not sin!  People could sin all that they wanted to!  When The Law came, sin was suddenly exposed and became alive because we were made aware of it.  At that moment were found guilty of being sinners and by all intent and purposes died!

10  and, as it turned out, the very Commandment which was to bring me life, brought me death.

So The Law, as good as it is, brings death to us by exposing our sinfulness.

Once again; if we try to obey God in our own strength, without having our plans and visions initiated by the voice of the Spirit, our plans will yield either more sinfulness or bear little fruit. For obeying God by our own efforts cause us to fail and exposes even more of our sin.

11  For sin seized the advantage, and by means of the Commandment it completely deceived me, and also put me to death.

The exposure of sin by the knowledge of the Law puts us to continual death.

12  So that the Law itself is holy, and the Commandment is holy, just and good.

As we earlier stated, The Law is absolutely good!

13  Did then a thing which is good become death to me? No, indeed, but sin did; so that through its bringing about death by means of what was good, it might be seen in its true light as sin, in order that by means of the Commandment the unspeakable sinfulness of sin might be plainly shown.

The Law was given to make “sin exceedingly sinful.”

14  For we know that the Law is a spiritual thing; but I am unspiritual—the slave, bought and sold, of sin.

15  For what I do, I do not recognize as my own action. What I desire to do is not what I do, but what I am averse to is what I do.

These verses are so crucial to us!  As long as we as believers attempt to continue to serve God by The Law, without the leading of the Holy Spirit we will continue to do what we do not want to do.  The reason is that the law of sin and death in the bodily members of every human being is activated every time that we obey God outside of the leading of the Holy Spirit!

In the Christian, the law of sin and death lies dormant in the human body parts.

The Christian has been set free from the sinful nature, but not the law of sin and death. We are dead to sin, but sin is not dead to us.

Do you remember? The Law revives sin in us!  Therefore the activated law of sin and death which is dormant in the Christian, but activated when we try to please God outside the voice of the Holy Spirit causes us to fail every time that we attempt to serve God, overcome sin, or promote the agendas of our churches through our own means.

God allows us to be in this very, very painful catch 22 situation until we come to realize that only in the revealed presence of the Person of Christ, through our death to self, by the operation of the cross, are we set free from the law of sin and death, and it remains inactive in us.

Within the revealed person of Christ resides the law of the Spirit of life.  As you can see, it is not about us doing, but about us becoming!  It is not about us living, but about us dying. It’s not about perspiration but about revelation.

Ro 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

16  But if I do that which I do not desire to do, I admit the excellence of the Law,

17  and now it is no longer I that do these things, but the sin which has its home within me does them.

Once again the law of sin and death will be activated, and will remain in activity within us as believers, if we do not learn to walk in the Spirit by the death of our self-life, through the operation of the cross of Christ.  We will never attain to a total victory over sin and deliverance from the oppression of the devil.  Our victory lies in the revealed Person of Christ within us.

18  For I know that in me, that is, in my lower self, nothing good has its home; for while the will to do right is present with me, the power to carry it out is not.

19  For what I do is not the good thing that I desire to do; but the evil thing that I desire not to do, is what I constantly do.

20  But if I do that which I desire not to do, it can no longer be said that it is I who do it, but the sin which has its home within me does it.

21  I find therefore the law of my nature to be that when I desire to do what is right, evil is lying in ambush for me.

22  For in my inmost self all my sympathy is with the Law of God;

23  but I discover within me a different Law at war with the Law of my understanding, and leading me captive to the Law which is everywhere at work in my body—the Law of sin.

24  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? {the body…: or, this body of death}

25  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Our final deliverance comes through the absolute death of the self-life as discussed in our study of Romans six and the full revelation of the Person of Christ Jesus in us.

I want to leave you with the true meaning of the body of this death found in verse 24.  Paul chose this expression and shows his understanding of the diseased self-life that must be put to total death so that we stop doing the things that we do not want to.  God Bless you!

In verse twenty-four Paul gives a perfect description of the self-life.  He calls it the body of this death.  In the days of Paul one of the most horrible types of punishments inflicted on criminals was the following.  A corpse was bound and tied to the body of the condemned fellow.  The villain was forced to live out his existence as to his time of punishment with this corpse rotting, and decaying, bound, and on top of him.

24  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? {the body…: or, this body of death}

This is called “the body of this death” and describes the depths and utter sickness of our sinful self-life, which keeps us in bondage at every point

The IRS says, ” Its Absolutely Not Illegal To Target Conservative Groups”,

I don’t look at the news too much anymore. I happened to look at a short video of a congressional inquiry into the activities of the IRS and the IRS Commissioner Steven Miller. When asked if the activities of the IRS to target conservative groups was illegal, his reply was, “it’s absolutely not illegal.”

Folks, this stuff is hair-raising scary!

If you are not alarmed by these type of people leading you, maybe I can respectfully pray for you?
