What About Getting Jesus Off The Lovely Church Cross

I blogged this on Easter 2014

I taught yesterday on one of Jesus Seven Words from the Cross. While I awaited my turn, the Lord suddenly popped a vision before me.

I had to change my teaching because of it.

As with all of the Lord’s things, it was simple, yet powerful.

Jesus was on the cross and dying. Not only did He wear a crown of thorns but had His body wrapped in thorns. His bleeding torso, his arms and legs were bound with many swaths of them. So much were the thorns that I knew the soldiers would not be able to get Him off the cross. Jesus was trapped to it.

Troubled by the vision, I pondered for understanding.

The Holy Spirit said, “The body of Jesus full of thorns is the church. My Son set the church free from pain, and those within her should be walking in and enjoy the freedom which I gave to her. Yet for many in my body, they hold on to their pain, they don’t repent or forgive others, they don’t know the cost of the breakthrough. So what you have in my church is the body of my Son still full of pain and for all intents and purposes still on the cross, forever more bleeding and dying.”

Dear friends, let us remember that Jesus wore the crown of thorns so that you would not have to. Jesus suffered so that you can be made whole. Jesus was whipped so that you can be healed.

It’s not enough to talk about it; God has called the church to be a living example of it.

What about if this Easter we get Jesus off the cross of pain and into the grave so that with Him we can experience resurrection glory, and by it, draw all men unto Him.

What Is Your Plan?

I am of the belief that the gospel of Jesus Christ, as it positively affects people, is the main key to the betterment of American society. The USA has gotten to the  sad place where posting Face Book statuses, liking stuff, tweeting, posting pretty jpegs, sharing articles, and signing petitions, does little, if nothing. I see a great challenge by the powers to be, to strip all sorts of constitutional rights from all sorts of people, and to do it quickly.  If the church remains asleep, things will be swept right from under its feet. It’s already happening.  We will end up with the unhappy song which the Rolling Stones sang, “You don’t know what you got till it’s gone.” The answer lies in that every Christian must be seeking God for a calling, a vision and get a plan to affect American society in a positive way. This is not the responsibility of the pastor but of every believer. I am of the belief that the church has many of the answers needed for the benefit of American society. It really need to wake up, and wake up now, and make the impact that it can make. The church is a sleeping giant who is not supposed to be sleeping, but it is. My question is, Christian what is your God-given plan to affect the USA with the love and power of God in the 2013?

The USA Is In A Judges Three State of Mind

The United States is in a Judges Three State of Mind

The key to the rescue of Israel from its enemies was “and when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD”.

I guess that the children of Israel would be for the most part the  church.

The un churched also knows how to cry out the Lord, though.

I will substitute Israel for the USA in the following verses.

The greatest lesson regarding history is that humanity never learns from it.

So what it was in Biblical days is still today.

This is why evolution doesn’t work.

Man’s sinful nature has not evolved into something better .

Humanity’s only Charles Darwin, if there is to be one, is Jesus Christ.

Judge 3: 7  And the children of  USA did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgot the LORD their God, and served the Baalim and the Asherahs.

8   Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against the USA, and He sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim, king of Mesopotamia; and the children of  the USA served Chushanrishathaim eight years.

9  And when the children of the USA cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of the USA who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother.

10  And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged the USA and went out to war; and the LORD delivered Chushanrishathaim, king of Mesopotamia, into his hand. And his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim;

11  and the USA had rest forty years, and Othniel the son of Kenaz died.

12   And the children of the USA did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against the USA, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

13  And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote the USA, and possessed the city of palm trees.

14  So the children of the USA served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.

15  But when the children of the USA cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded; and by him the children of the USA l sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.

I am going to phone my good friend Billy Joel and ask him to re word his once famous song, and make it into a Word of the Lord for this country.

DoesThe Devil Know That You Know That You Are Dead?

Have you ever had an enemy?

As I prayed this morning, God gave me a vision of Jesus Dying on the cross.

Surrounding Him and it, were hundreds of Roman soldiers with menacing spears in their hands. Sometime during the vision Jesus dies. A little while later, the soldiers begin to realize that the Lord had expired. One by one they left the scene of the crucifixion, their menacing spears no more. Jesus was dead. Everything was over and done.

As long as one is alive, the enemy feels threatened and might attack. Once the person dies , the enemy has nothing that threatens him and departs.

The Bible says that the Christian died with Christ on His cross. She is not dying, she is dead. The enemy continues to attack us because he knows that we don’t realize that we are dead. What if you suddenly realized that truly you are dead and the devil knows that you know? Though he might try to attack you because you carry Christ, he can’t attack you because you have sin or sickness.

One that you are convinced that you truly died 2000 years ago, many oppressive things will leave you. For one, a corpse cannot carry sin or sickness. Secondly, if you are dead, many things that tried to threaten and latch on to you when you were alive, cannot plague you anymore. You think on that today.

There is a Hat Rack to Hang the Hat of Sickness, but We Choose to Wear it!

There is a hat rack to hang the hat of sickness, but we choose to wear it!

Matthew eight sixteen and seventeen are revealing verses, when studied in the Greek.

Mt 8:16  When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were (having or retaining)  sick (evil): King James Version

“and healed all that were sick” …  evil having or retaining, He cured therapeutically.”

The translated Greek says, “Those evil or injurious things having or keeping, Jesus healed.”

Moreover, evening itself coming about, they bring-near to him many themselves being demonized, and he cast- the breaths -out with a word, and he services all those holding injuries. The Awful Scroll Bible Version

The Awful Scroll Bible does a superb job by saying ; “those holding to injuries.”

17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took ( received) our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. King James Version

I have been a Christian for thirty three years. Many times I find myself retaining, holding or keeping an infirmity or a sickness, and that for a long time.

Human nature is obsessed with worrying about  things which afflict.

Somehow, we calculate that by concentrating on the malady we will attain to something. To what, I don’t know, but I catch myself stuck in this horrible habit.

17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took ( received) our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. King James Version

Verse seventeen is to be understood in context of  sixteen.

Jesus Himself took our infirmities. The word “took”, is “lambano”, which is translated to receive, or get.

Biblical receiving is not a mental ascension. It’s receiving, obtaining and making my own, to implement. The word lambano is what Jesus used to talk about receiving by faith. When Jesus tells us to receive, He expects us to get so that we can use.

On the cross, Jesus received, obtained and made our sicknesses His own. In fact the cross is the “Welcome Sign” for sin. In a weird analogy, His bloodied body represents the refrigerator door for every magnet of sin and disease to be placed on.

Jesus welcomed it then, and welcomes it now.

Humanity is hostile to The One who gladly wants all its junk to be placed on Him.

Jesus is  the “hat rack” where disease can be hung from.  We have a place to hang the hat of sickness but  choose to wear it instead.

Mt 8:16  When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were (to have)  sick (evil): King James Version

If  we choose to have and keep the injurious and evil things unto ourselves, there is little that Jesus can do for us until we let go.  In proportion to our letting go, we get healed. I think that Jesus is waiting to quickly heal me when I  remit my sickness on Him.

Joh 20:23  Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

To remit is the same word used to forgive.  Biblical forgiveness is to send something bad so far away that it’s impossible for it to adversely affect.

Forgiveness is not just an utterance or a confession of heart. It is a physical, emotional and spiritually tangible transference of something evil,  so far from you, that it can no longer influence.

Jesus forgave us. Disease has been forgiven and sent to the hill far way where that old rugged cross stands.

When we remit our sins and those of others, we sent them far to the land of Golgotha. When we keep them, we hold ,and suppress the sickness close to our frail human body. One by-product of suppressing the evil is bitterness.  The gravity of not forgiving yourself and others is that through inaction, you hold, retain, and suppress the evil to yourself.

Happy (makarios) Thursday!

The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence

Mt 11:12  And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

“From the days of John the Baptist until the now moment the kingdom of the heavens is being violently forced, and spiritually violent and forceful people snatch it for themselves as the price of plunder or treasure.”

During a season of spiritual warfare, God brought back this truth.

Eph 3:8  Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Heavenly places are chock full of infinite, unfathomable and immeasurable riches. Heaven is full of money. It’s also full of healing, freedom, solutions and breakthroughs. It’s full of power and God’s glory.

In warfare recently,  I had to pray and command countless time before an answer came. For half an hour it seemed like the demon would not let go. The attack got worse and worse. Suddenly God came through.  I entered a realm of revelation where all that I needed and much more God was giving. The more I pressed in, the more that came. The more I believed, the more that I accessed. It was nonstop. It was infinite.

I found the joy of warring and breaking in the Spirit.

The abundance of heaven is far beyond what’s on earth. Yet, it’s locked up in God’s mysteries, opposed by the devil, and in the spirit realm of heaven’s places.

Heaven’s  riches can only be plundered by spiritually violent people.

To those  who press into heaven in prayer,  the Word, and in spirit led obedience, they will tap these treasures.

Heavens bounty is not for the faint of heart, but it’s worth it.

The great scheme of the devil is to attack believers with passivity. Watchman Nee, the great Chinese apostle whose books on walking in the Spirit I  recommend said that the church is sunk in a passive mind and a passive state. Passivity, and complacency are direct attacks of the Evil One. If you are passive you will not gather the spoils of heaven.

The other strategy is entertainment , the love potion of Western nations. If you will enter heaven you can’t be entertained by the earth.

Christians must be soldiers of the spirit, militant in spiritual warfare, and consumed with Jesus.

If we do not see the kingdom of God as something that must be violently forced into by the Spirit, we will not tap  its infinite bounties. We will stay dry and poverty stricken

My father says. “ For everything in life there is a price to pay. The greater the thing, the greater the price.

The price of accessing God’s kingdom is high, but its reward is the salvation of the world.

I challenge you to try it for yourself and see if what I say is not true.

“Woman, what have I to do with thee?”

The keys to successful spiritual warfare are found below

My wife Mary says that spiritual warfare is doing the opposite.

2Co 9:7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful (hilaros) giver.

If you are stingy become a cheerful or as the Greek says a hilarious giver.

If you are fearful of speaking, ask God to give you a teaching ministry. I am global Bible teacher who was a severe stutterer most of his life.

The devil hates when we do the opposite to what he tempts with. This is effective warfare.

The famed King James phrase “what have I to do with thee” is translated as “what or any to me and to you.”

Mr 5:7  And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Greek: What to me and to you

Lu 8:28  When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

Greek: What to me and to you

Joh 2:4  Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

Greek: What or Any to me and to you

What, as an interrogative pronoun, inquires  the who, which, or what; of what content, and of which sort, or what type.

There is no connection or agreement in content, type, or sort of anything, between the devil and the Son of God. The demons recognized that and shuddered!

John 14:30  Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

…For the chief of this world system comes and in me he absolutely does not have the tiniest connection, agreement, or even the tiniest thing in common.

In John, it is Jesus who ratifies that there is not even the tiniest agreement or connection between Him and the forces of darkness.

In other words, Jesus had no open doors to the demonic.

The biggest part of our walking in liberty is to close every possible door of connection, agreement or thing in common with sin, the love of the word, and the forces of darkness. Obviously, perfection in the life is not possible, but we must strive every day to say “what have I to do with thee?”
