Do The Parties Really Exist?

I will not get political, but I think that there is something for us the common American folk that bears watching.

Jesus said that we will know what is in people by their repeated habit patterns, or as He calls it, fruit.

For many years, but now more than ever, the Republicans and the Democrats may squabble on the floors of the Capitol and Senate. Yet, when it comes time for The Vote, especially on major issues, they mysteriously come together and usually vote alike.

Look at Syria, budget issues, spying, taxes, and presidential nominations.  Most of Washington politicians are like TV wrestlers. They beat each other up in a bloody pulp in front of the screen but off it they are best of buddies. I am suspicious that Republican and Democrats are just the same way. They use the American public as pawns while behind the scenes they are much more in sync than what you and I think, and are working towards one agenda which I am not sure what it is. Globalist, socialist or as Matt Drudge called it today, authoritarian?

The parties in many ways don’t really exist. We need to, whether liberals or conservatives, wisen up, for we are being played more than what we think.

I leave you with Matt Drudge’s Face Book Status

“It’s now Authoritarian vs. Libertarian. Since Democrats vs. Republicans has been obliterated, no real difference between parties…
Why would anyone vote Republican? Please give reason. Raised taxes; marching us off to war again; approved more NSA snooping. WHO ARE THEY?! “

How To Win The 2012 American Presidency

I tuned in to the Glenn Beck radio program yesterday while driving.

Beck was discussing leadership, and how those who  lead must  do so by  example.

Beck articulated that a master only obtains credibility when he washes the feet of those whom he serves. Or the leader to the ones whom she leads.

As is customary sometimes with Beck, he will hit on something that fires me up and gets me out of my old paradigmal  box thinking.

God is s linear thinker, while people are box thinkers.

Much of the exertion in the renewing of the mind as discussed by the Apostle Paul in Romans 12:2,  is to get us out of box thinking and into God’s linear thinking.

We know that Mitt Romney is a millionaire and if elected would not need a presidential salary.

What if, Beck suggested, Romney would declare the following to the nation.

“I will not take a salary during my tenancy as president. I will make certain that my salary goes into the reduction of the national debt.”

What would Americans think? Would they love this idea?

Would this serve a breath of political fresh air to the majority of Americans?

I would think so.

Would this be a political game changer for Mitt?

I would think so.

Would this get any candidate owning  this, elected?

I would think so.

Beck then went on to discuss the salary of the average American.

$40, 000.00 was the figure he gave.

What if each member of the Congress and the Senate would commit to collect this average American salary and place the rest into the reduction of the  national debt?

This is honest leadership which will inspire Americans versus the Cronyism that we see in Washington DC.

Leaders must put their money where their mouths are.

Beck echoes what the Apostle Paul penned about principled leadership two thousand years back.

1Ti 3:2  A bishop ( episcope) then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

Bishop is the Greek  compound “episcope”.

Epi, is the preposition, to be on top, above,  or upon.

Scope is the word to scope out, scrutinize, and inspect.

The bishop or for that sense, any leader, must be on top or above those whom she leads so that she can from this place scope out.

Being above others is not a crooked  power grab or the lust for control.

A moral leader is above those whom she leads in character, integrity, honesty, maturity, self-sacrifice and the willingness to serve.

From this above position she can then scope out and down, and scrutinize the problems to support and solve.

1Ti 5:17  Let the elders that rule ( proistemi ) well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

The Apostle Paul uses yet another compound in defining upright rulership or government.

Pros is the preposition to place something  before something else.

Histemi is to cause something to stand; that is to establish or fix something in place.

So ruling according to God is to go before and set up, or cause something to stand as an example, for others to perceive and follow.

A good leader goes before those who she leads, and places herself as an example to be followed.

Paul boldly says.

1Co 11:1  Be ye followers (mimetes: from where the word mimic comes) of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Be a mimic of me as I am a mimic or an imitator of Christ.

This sadly confirms the systemic and inclusive failure of American politics.

Those in power, lead not by providing  a proper example for others to follow, but by the tearing down of an opponent to be exalted. This type of leadership will eventually cause the leader and those whom he leads to trip into a ditch.

But what if, as Beck suggests, there would be a true episcope who leads by proistemi?

I am thinking about circulating my blog entry to Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, my senators and congressman and see if there are any takers.

I think that Beck’s idea is good enough to go viral.

Feel free to share this blog entry if you think that in 2012 we need elected politicians whom will lead by example and not by corruption.

I would put my money that any presidential candidate who would commit in doing what Beck recommends would win the 2012 election.
