The Minimum Viable Product

I’ve struggled for years to write a book.

Now, the time has come, for God is speaking.

Entrepreneurs encourage when launching a new venture, to create the “Minimum Viable Product” (MVP).

Instead of committing years to a product which may fail, they encourage the dedication of a few months to create a MVP, put out limited copies on E Bay, for example, and modifying it according to customer feedback.

I will have this MVP done in two months, God willing!

How A Hurricane Taught Me God’s Voice

My first encounter with hearing God’s voice occurred with Hurricane David on August of 1979.

I had just given my life to Jesus Christ.

We lived on Key Biscayne Florida, which is an island surrounded by water.

My father, and my now deceased mother, were getting divorced and my father had left our home.

When Hurricane David was tracking across Santo Domingo, I I heard the voice of God, for the first time.

He told me that David would not hit Miami.

I told my parents that God had spoken.

Many people are shocked when hearing that God speaks personally.

I don’t know why that is so strange.

If He created the mouth, why should He not also speak?

I was an impulsive young man, full of faith in the God who had captured my heart, with His love.

David, however, was zeroing in on Miami.

Forty eight hours before arriving, the Key Biscayne Police Department drove through the island recommending everyone to evacuate.

I told my family!

“I am not leaving, because God told me that the hurricane is not going to hit. I am going to prove to you that God talks to me.”

We boarded up the home and my mother, brother, and sister left for a Holiday Inn, just outside Key Biscayne.

I remained with my Living Bible, a weather radio, and a few flashlights.

With the eye of the hurricane now 10 hours away, light rains began.

I watched TV and read verses from the Bible.

The winds and rains strengthened.

Suddenly the power went out!

With the lack of noise, I could plainly hear the ever-increasing winds.

My mother telephoned and pleaded with me to come to the Holiday Inn.  I panicked.

I got the keys to the car to leave.

When I opened the front door, violent winds and horizontal rains bombarded me.  There was no way out.

Trying to phone my mother, communication had dropped.

I did not know if I had heard a demon or God!

It was 1:00 AM.

The eye of David was to hit Miami at 6:00 AM.

My weather radio also lost power.

The only sounds were the screeches of the winds which became more boisterous by the minute.

I was petrified.

I got my Bible and the flashlight and read from the Book of Job.

It’s when we step out unto the fragile limb of faith that the Lord acts.

With flashlight shining on the giant print Bible I read.

Job 38:1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

God spoke to Job out of the whirl wind!

God was now speaking to me out of the whirl wind!

Job 40:15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

The behemoth in the King James Version is cattle or a water buffalo, or a rhinoceros.

But as I read this scripture, my flashlight hit a darkened part of the wall, and landed upon a huge white moth!

Behemoth….moth!   The timing could only be God’s!

At 3:30 AM the winds increased all the more.

I got angry at God. I ranted. I climbed on top of a chair and shook my fist.

“You told me that the hurricane was not going to hit.” You are lying to me, I am going die out here.”

God answered Job and me from the whirlwinds.

He rebuked me for my panic attack!

Job 40:6 Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

7  Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

8  Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

9  Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

Then in Job 42.

Job 42:8  Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.

When I read “my servant Job shall pray for you”, I dropped the Bible, fell on my face and unto the cold white tile.

“Oh God, please forgive me, I was wrong. Please make the hurricane turn around.”

For ninety minutes I prayed, face on the icy floor.

The winds intensified the more.

I increased my prayers.

After an hour, with my face still buried the winds began to decrease.

By 5:00 AM there was a substantial reduction in the wind speed.

I kept on praying.

By six o clock the winds were only 50 miles per hour.

The eye of hurricane should have been on top of Miami.

I had no electricity or phone. I had no idea what occurred.  I fell asleep exhausted.

Later I learned that at 5:00 AM when David was over the Bahamas, its steering currents shifted and prodded the hurricane northward.

What a miracle!

This is how I began to hear and learn the voice of God.

In the photo, notice the slight jog of the hurricane to the north very close to Florida. This is when I was praying.

What Cynthia Nixon From “Sex In The City” Taught Me!

My oldest daughter Lexy was a theater major in New York City.

Lexy was a stage manager with aspirations to work on Broadway.

On the ladder up, she became involved with what is labeled “Off Off Broadway” and “Off Broadway” plays.

Four years ago I visited Lexy in NYC and attended Shakespeare’s, “Twelfth Night”, which she worked with.

These folks did a great job with the production, though I am not a fan of Shakespeare.

Most of the seats were filled.

I was in the back row.

We were twenty minutes into the play when a family walked in.

I caught a glimpse of them from the corner of my eye.

The lady was gawking into the pitch darkness for empty seats.

The only ones were next to me.

I did the neighborly thing.

I stretched out my hand towards them, beckoning to the seats next to me.

This red-head caught sight of my waving hand, thanked me, and proceeded to sit with her small children, placing her son squarely on her lap.

I found it creepy when several people turned around, goggling and muttering something to her about meeting at a party.

During the remainder of the play this woman lovingly and patiently with a gentle voice described to the child on her lap what was going on, even singing along to the Shakespearian songs.

I was struck by her tender spirit.

The lights went up for intermission.

My daughter ran to me, eyes protruding like fried eggs.

“Do you know who the person sitting next to you is?” she laughed.

“No”, I calmly said.

“It’s Cynthia Nixon from Sex in the City”.

I don’t watch TV.  You can ask my wife.

I responded to Lexy, “Who’s Cynthia Nixon and what is Sex in the City?”

When the play finished Cynthia Nixon gave me her multi colored program.

Everyone else had black and white ones.

She went on to stay, talk to the crew and sign autographs.

For me, Cynthia and her family were people whom God had called me to love and serve.

The Bible tells us to reach out to strangers and be hospitable to them.

This was one day that I was glad that I am not a TV watcher.

We over estimate TV stars too much.

As far as I saw, Cynthia Nixon is an everyday person, an awesome mom and a genuinely decent human being.

She and her family were folks simply in needs of seats, and the Holy Spirit was attentive to provide them.

God Motivations: How I Lost Forty Pounds!

People ask me, how have I lost 40 lbs.?

It’s not been hard, because the Holy Spirit got my ball rolling.

This is grace!

Grace is not a license to sin because God loves us.

It’s a license not to sin because God kick starts something new.

Everyone needs a motivation to begin the new.

We are creatures of habit.

We tolerate pain until it is unbearable.

This is why Americans tolerate corrupt politicians until they hit their pocket book or bring them to imminent danger.

God brings us to the point of the unbearable to give us disgust for the sin which brought us the unbearable.

I tried through life to lose weight, quite unsuccessfully.

My motivation came when Jesus said, “if you don’t lose the weight, you won’t fulfill your destiny.’”

I’m not sure what He meant but it was enough to get me scared.

These are “God motivations.”

They are the products of “do or die’ scenarios.

Are you ready for some “God motivations?”

Ask and you shall receive!

Access

How To Access?

Eph 3:8 To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

9 and to make all men see what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ;

12 in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.

Access is an interesting word

Everybody wants access to something.

God loves access.

Google dictionary describes it as the right to approach something, and to have the opportunity to use and benefit from it.

God has afforded access to His invisible and unsearchable riches to those who love Him.

These have bold access by the confidence which resolute faith brings.

God’s riches are unsearchable because they are not accessed through physical senses.

Man lost access to them in the Garden of Eden.

God hid them when Adam disobeyed Him, and gave us re access when Christ came.

Adam and Eve were created as eternal beings with free access into all riches.

The word hedonism comes from Eden. Hedonism is the doctrine that pleasure and happiness is the highest good.

The absence of sin is the purest form of pleasure.   The root of sin is pain and the fear which pain carries.

God will not give sinful people access into these riches lest they corrupt their flawless nature through sin, and eat from the tree of life to become eternal sinners.

God’s kingdom is only accessed by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things made, both His eternal power and Divinity, so that they are without excuse.

Col 1:16 because by Him all things were created, those in the heavens and those on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.

God’s invisible kingdom is full of things or objects.

All realms, either visible or invisible are made up of objects which take up space and to make up these realms

Just because something cannot be seen does not make it not real.

Heb 10:1   For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the image itself of the things (pragmas), can never with the same sacrifices, which they offer continually every year, make those approaching perfect.

Heb 11;1   For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the image itself of the things (pragma), can never with the same sacrifices, which they offer continually every year, make those approaching perfect.

The invisible and eternal riches are called pragmas.

So why do we want access into the pragmas of God?

  1. The objects or things which make up God’s invisible places in His kingdom are called pragmas.
  2. Earthly objects are under the curse of sin, and have become temporal.
  3. Pragmas seamlessly function, are intact, pristine, uncontaminated, unbreakable, and eternally enduring
  4. They are accessed by faith and the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
  5. They dwell in the light of the glory of God versus the light of the sun
  6. They are the flawless and pristine originals, the prototypical and archetypical models, of every universal thing created by God in its perfect and untarnished form.
  7. They are not subject to a malfunction or to a breakage.
  8. They are not limited to height, width, and length, and are limitless.
  9. Pragmas operate in the same way that God Himself operates.
  10. They can increase and diminish by faith.
  11. Because every universal pragma lies created inside of Christ, through His reconciliation, everything becomes conformed back to the images of those pragmas.
  12. This is one of the great works of Christ. No other religious leader has accomplished this.

The Reality of Abundance

Lu 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

The “pressed down, and shaken together and running over,” is an anointing accessible to all who adopt a lifestyle of giving by the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

Give and it shall be given unto you; is in the present tense. Our giving must be continual and in the present.

This is not only money. It’s a lifestyle which regularly gives out by the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

Pressed down and shaken together, are in the perfect, passive participle structure.

This syntax is the most powerful description of existence, state, or reality.

If you are an active giver the “pressed down, and shaken together and running over” becomes your reality and mode of existence.

God will bring you into it.

How would you like to perpetually receive from the Lord, and I am not just talking of money?

This is God’s natural way of being. God is a God of infinite abundance.

Finally, wealth management in God’s economy begins with faithful tithing on the gross.

I’ve been a Christian for thirty six years. Those who did not regularly tithe on the gross were always in financial problems.

Those who faithfully did, God got them out of them all.
