To be candid, I am not one of those Christians with a visceral disliking of the President. I believe we can’t “pray FOR rulers” and talk AGAINST them. That being said, when the President steps out of his office into commentary on faith at a prayer gathering he engages a different kind of conversation…and response.
ENTER the President at the National Prayer Breakfast this week. In case you missed it, after criticizing ISIS with appropriate remarks, the president said: “And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place — remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.”
Here is where the President started drifting.
First, do American Christians need to “get off their high horse” in their response to Islamic barbarism? At that prayer gathering Mr. President was worried. That’s not a high horse it’s high anxiety!
Obama is actually spiritually tone deaf. The people he spoke to didn’t exist in that room.
Second, does he still believe Islam does not have a problem? For 6 years Obama has forcefully tried to separate Islam from what terrorists do, in the name of Islam. He has a sweet spot for Islam and sees the Jihadists as frustrated extremists who have been made so, largely because of America. To him the terrorists are giving beautiful Islam a bad name.
ISIS is bad he says, but this week he associated these atrocities with Christian history, sighting the Crusades and Spanish Inquisition.
“Crusades?” Really? Didn’t that happen 700 years before America was formed? But that does not matter to the guest speaker.
Let’s explore this linkage in an Obama wired brain:
the Islamic quest for a Caliphate is what Christians did once also. Just like ISIS is trying to create, by conquest, a unified Islamic State, those prayer breakfast Christians tried to create the same thing. Oh how you forget. Yes you, my friend, are guilty of the Medieval Popes’ Crusades and the Inquisitions.
This point must have really hit home to the crowd, three-fourths of whom are Protestant and in fact would have been persecuted by the Inquisition. Times have changed and so has the Catholic church. Can you imagine how brain dead you would have to be to remind your Catholic friend about his culpability in the Spanish Inquisition?
THIS is the progressive left psychology many of you have been warning me about. The President helped me. Honestly. I had an awakening.
The “Progressive Left” professors have been shaming American kids through the University and education system for over two decades. The Left points out everything wrong with America and nothing right. By shaming our history, we lose our patriotic love for country and along with that the balanced truth about our history.
The left shames the whites about slavery.
The heterosexual is shamed for not being “open” to gay marriage.
Feminism shames men for wanting girls to be girls.
The productive people with money are shamed into giving more and more back “of their fair share”, as Obama puts it.
And this week the left shames Christians for their connection to the Crusades, Inquisition and Slavery with its aftermath in Jim Crow laws.
And now I am ashamed I didn’t see this earlier. The Left Progressives by feeding the young and the discontented with a narrative of “resentment” toward America and its Christian roots, have been simultaneously shaming all the opposition into submission.
Bishop E.W. Jackson said last night on FOX NEWS in response to the President: “I would remind the president that the Crusades began in 1096 as a response to Islamic aggression, and the fact was they had conquered the Holy Land and they were oppressing eastern Christians. And there was a response to that, so if the President is even gonna cite that as an example, then he ought to get his history complete.”
Obama didn’t stop with comparing today’s Jihadists to Christian sins of 800 to 1,000 years ago. He spoke about Jim Crow laws. True. Here are some high carb fat facts:
1. There were Christians in the South fighting to defend the abominable institution of slavery and they resisted Lincoln’s post war Reconstruction.
2. There were Christian abolitionists in the North who agitated the nation into war.
3. There was a Christian named Wilberforce who eradicated slavery in England.
4. Christianity on the whole is history’s most civilizing agent and the greatest foundation for a free and prosperous society.
Should THAT not be the message a Christian leader makes on an occasion such as this?
By reminding us of what happened 900 years ago or with Jim Crow, Obama is saying in effect – you prayer breakfast Christians of all people should be humble in “assuming you have all the answers” or a direct line to divine revelation.
Man. Talk about edifying the brothers at a national prayer gathering. If you were a guest hearing this (as many world leaders were) would you be inspired by the President’s faith in the Gospel? I’d sooner have hired Jack Kevorkian as a wedding DJ than have this President marketing America or the power of faith.
The WEEK had this to say: “Churchill, in summoning the British people during the existential threat of World War II, didn’t dwell on their faults — in fact, he talked about defending “Christendom” and western civilization. As Joe Scarborough said today, Obama’s comments are “the equivalent of FDR, when giving a speech against Nazi Germany, going, ‘Now, of course, what we did to the Indians…really bad….so we really have no room to talk about what Hitler is doing.”
So the President linked the misdeeds of Christianity past with the misdeeds of Islam today. And where does he fit in this continuum? He is not numbered among those pompous Christians in that room. He is the enlightened humble statesman.
By linking the worst of Christianity past with the atrocities of Islam today you get a glimpse into the Obama worldview about religion and faith and public policy.
See the problem? Forget theology. Forget the fact that Catholicism had a Reformation and Islam needs one. Does this President see the militant threat for what it is? No. He sees Islam in transition and Christian (right wing) America he sees as its haughty critic. Hence his history sermonette this week.
He does not understand the issue. Islam desperately needs its Reformation and no Martin Luther has stepped up to the plate. Until that happens the link between the radical and the Koran is unchecked and the threat increases.
The equating of radical Islam to Christianity is an error in metaphor and policy.
This isn’t a right wing / left wing editorial response. It’s a moment of clarity into how this President sees the world’s single greatest threat in a nuclear age. Praying his successor is less Neville Chamberlin and more Churchillian.
Let’s not misquote the President. He did say this: “Our job is not to ask that God respond to OUR NOTION OF TRUTH — our job is to be true to Him, His word, and His commandments…. And that means we have to speak up against those who would misuse His name to justify oppression, or violence, or hatred with that fierce certainty. No God condones terror. No grievance justifies the taking of innocent lives, or the oppression of those who are weaker or fewer in number.”

That’s a good speech ending – but not entirely true. This president DOES act on his “notion of truth” and has advanced it in the gay agenda and policy toward not arming Jordan, removing troops when they were needed in Iraq to keep ISIS from coming into existence, and his attitude toward working with Israel right now. He manages our 18 trillion dollar deficit based on his notion of truth. If nothing else, this leader has very high opinions of his notions and an equal consistency in their pursuit.
It’s “his notions” that are problematic.
May God give him great wisdom as he sets the stage for the next act of American history, and may we find a leader who can speak at a prayer breakfast and inspire the world to know Jesus! Hopefully someone that actually likes America.

The Church’s Most Important Truth

“The One Most Important Truth for the Christian Believer”

John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

“And Preached Christ Unto Them.”

Acts 8:5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

Acts 9:20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

· After I got saved in 1979, I used to be troubled by scriptures such as the ones above. These scriptures illustrate for us some of the evangelistic efforts under the ministry of Phillip, the evangelist. I could not figure out why, and how, Phillip could possible preach a person instead of preaching about things.

For me, Christianity was all about my relationship with Christ, and how He could impart eternal life, and innumerable amounts of benefits and blessings to me, and to a dying world. How can you preach a person anyways?

It was not until the Lord brought me in contact with the teachings of the great Chinese apostle and martyr Watchman Nee, did I began to understand why Phillip and others in the New Testament preached a person named Jesus Christ

I have to come to realize in my twenty-one years as a believer, that Christianity has little do with blessings, miracles, and all that we can get out of God. By itself, these things are not wrong! As a matter of fact, the Lord commands us to take all of our requests to Him. However, if your Christianity goes only as far as having a give and take relationship with the Lord, where the focus is to get your prayers answered, obtain blessings, and believe God for miracles, you will be miss out on most of what God has for you. I give you my word; you will be eating spiritual ground beef for your whole life, as an earthly believer, instead of the filet mignon and lobster that God is so desirous to feed you with.

Today I want to teach you the most important truth that you will ever learn as a Christian. Most believers, and most churches, never understand this truth, though the New Testament over and over teaches on it. Hence the great weakness, the inability to overcome sin, the powerlessness over the lies of Satan, and the helplessness to be freed from the love of the world, continues to be found in countless believers throughout the centuries.

· As you shall see, Satan has successfully deceived the church in part, to divert it from understanding and valuing the supreme importance of the revelation of the Son of God in its midst. The fault is mainly ours! Our obedience to God is shallow, compromised, and limited; our knowledge of the Word of God is poor at best.

Secondly, we have been deceived to allow the second most important truth in Christianity to slip right through our hands!

Do we ever hear in our churches about the preaching and revelation of the person of Christ? We instead are being made aware about prosperity, being blessed, getting a miracle and so forth. Lesser still, do you ever hear about the preaching of the cross of Christ? Do you understand the cross?

· We have indeed put the chicken before the egg. Everything that we seek as believers today must come out of a personal revelation of the Person of Christ, and our understanding and embracing of His cross.

· We are doing things backwards. We are asking God to bless us, and to perform all of these great miracles in our lives. Yet we remain, and shall remain in bondage, hurt, sin, and godly powerlessness, unless we understand and implement these two supreme truths into our lives.

·Let us study, learn, and become truly free, shall we?

Christ is God’s Treasure Chest

· Let us begin our study by observing the following scriptures found in Colossians and in Ephesians. In Colossians we discover that inside of Christ are hidden treasures. In Ephesians we find that Christ contains riches. It sounds like if Christ is a treasure chest, doesn’t it?

Col 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Ephesians 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

· So if Christ is indeed a treasure chest then He must contain treasures INSIDE OF HIM, correct? What kind of treasures can we expect to find inside of Him or “In Him?” Let’s look at a few of them together.

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto( INTO) himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

God the Father will reconcile and harmonize the universe into Christ, at His appointed time.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Every last and tiniest “God given” blessing resides inside the Person of Christ.

Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

The fullness of the Trinity dwells inside the Person of Christ

Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Inside of Christ resides all accomplished victory, and hence all rightful authority over all the demonic, earthly, and angelic hierarchy of leadership. Christ also has that same authority over “ every name that is named”. Therefore, this includes the name of sickness, circumstances, and so forth, for all eternity.

So where does this “Christ laden with treasures inside of Him” live? He lives inside of us, right? Would it be a safe bet for us to say then, that we not only possess Christ, but we possess these immense and invaluable treasures, inside of us too? Wow!

This is the one thing devil is absolutely terrified of, and he does a good job keep the church’s’ attention diverted from this.

How Does the Church Really Operate?

Let us suppose that you and your family go on vacation to a beautiful secluded island on the Caribbean. One morning, as you meandered through the ivory color sands, a dark corner of barely protruding object suddenly grabs you attention. Totally shocked, you uncover a rusty treasure chest hidden by English pirates of old as they had fled from their enemies, the Spaniards.

To compound your amazement, when you finally break open the chest you find it laden and overflowing with pounds and pounds of gold and silver bars and trinkets, precious gems, brilliant stones, huge diamonds, superb rubies, exquisite rings, brooches, precious coins and so forth.

Let me ask you one simple question. Is it more logical to have you and your sons close and secure the chest, grab it by each of its handle and wheel it home laden with all of it bounty so that you can forever enjoy it and use it as you have need? That is one alternative!

However, you chose to sit for hours under the broiling sun of the cloudless Caribbean skies, and laboriously search through the chest for certain items of jewelry that your family deemed necessary. You dig and pull out the jewelry, breaking your fingernails and cutting your hands, and finally quit the process totally exhausted. In a deep frustration and an awful consumption of time, your family finds the fifteen or twenty pieces that they need. You then leave the treasure chest still have buried in the sand, still nearly full with hundreds pieces of jewelry now discarded around it, book a passage on a local sea plane, and go home.

We would have to agree that this family acted it in total ignorance and foolishness! Yet this is a perfect description of the church, and its relationship and depth of understanding to the Lord Jesus.

It Is Not “Where is The Beef”, But “Where Is The Treasure?”

Inside the Person of Christ dwells as we have seen, all of who God is, all of what God wants, and all that God possesses for this word and for the next. Here is the key to the puzzle! When Christ is revealed or manifested in us, all the treasures within or inside of Him will be manifested along with Him. The more revelation of the Son of God, the more will be the revelation of all that dwells IN HIM. It is an automatic reality.

The secret to the manifestation or revelation of the Son of God in our lives has to do with our uncompromising obedience. The more that we obey God, the more that Jesus Christ living in us will become revealed or manifested in our spirits or hearts. The less that we obey God, the less will be the manifestation of the Son of God in our lives. It is that simple!

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

(Today, we cannot cover in this lesson how the Lord becomes manifested in our lives. We shall study this in later teachings.

Remember; God has not given to us things! God has given us a Person, His Son! This is a very important point!

We are always asking God for things. God in turn wants to reveal His Son to us who CONTAINS ALL THINGS!

Heb 1:1  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Heb 1:2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

1Co 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

With this foundation in place we can start to partake and enjoy of the goodness of God when He gave us this one thing, His Son. Let us begin by understanding, that when we ask God to give us His power, in reality we are asking amiss. He has given us His Son! Look with me at the scripture above please. Jesus is the power of God. Therefore when He is revealed in our lives, God’s power is revealed with Him, in Him, or along with Him. The more that Christ is revealed in our lives, the more that we will automatically work in the power of God. We don’t need power; we need the Son of God to become a reality to us and the power will be ours!

1 Cor 1:5 That in every thing ye are enriched by (By or In Him) him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;

1Co 1:6 Even as the testimony (the revelation) of Christ was confirmed in you:

1Co 1:7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming (The revelation) of our Lord Jesus Christ

Re 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony (The revelation) of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy

Please look with me at the scriptures contained in 1 Corinthians 1:5,6 and 7. In verse five it tells us that “by Christ” and “In Christ” (The Greek grammatical structure is interchangeable here), we are made rich in spiritual gifts. Two of the gifts mentioned in this passage could be the utterance gifts, which could include tongues, their interpretation, and the gift of prophecy. The other is the gift of the word of knowledge, which God uses extensively in healing. Verse six goes on to direct us to the fact, that the enrichment or increase of these spiritual gifts in a believer’s life is directly proportional to the revelation of Christ within him or her. Right? Verse seven instructs us that if the revelation of the Lord is complete in our life, we will lack in no spiritual gift. Therefore, the more that Christ is revealed in our lives, the more that we will automatically flow in the gifts and ministries that God has called us to. The gifts are IN HIM. As Christ is revealed, the gifts IN HIM will be automatically revealed along with Him.

Now please look with me at Revelation 19:10. Please be careful to see with me that Jesus does not give us prophecies per se. Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy! Therefore, the more that Jesus is manifested in our lives, the more that we shall automatically flow in prophecy! Let’s look at one last one.

Christ is God’s Righteousness, God’s Redemption, and God’s Sanctification.

1Co 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

In Corinthians 1:30 we see that Christ has been made into righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. Christ does not dispense these blessings! He Himself is the blessings! If we ask God to make us righteous, are prayers will be only halfway answered. If we ask God to sanctify us, we have missed God’s best.

God’s righteousness has to do with the manifested or outward qualities of God that originate from His inward holy character.

Sanctification is defined as the progression of our being purified by the Spirit of God.

Redemption has to do with the process of our being rescued from the power of Satan, bondage, sin, and the love of the world.

Christ does not produce these things in us as separate blessings. He has been made into these attributes. As Christ becomes revealed within our lives, God’s righteousness becomes more and more of a reality in us. It is automatic! As Christ becomes more discernible in us, we automatically find ourselves more and more free from sin, bondage and the schemes of the enemy. I know that I am redundant, but this is so important!

“And Ye In Me, and I in You”
John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

Let us end our study today by observing what it says in John fourteen and twenty. The “YE IN ME” has to with our uncompromising obedience to the Lord. If we love the Lord with all of our hearts, we shall want to obey Him. If we obey Him, He will manifest Himself to us, as I said early.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Christ’s manifestation in you will also manifest along with Him, all of God treasures, which live in Him; we have talked about already. This is now the “I IN YOU”; Christ, and all that He has and is, becomes automatically assimilated in us by revelation. In other words His reality becomes our reality. The revelation of the Son of God in us becomes assimilation, and assimilation becomes reality, and with Him comes our assimilation of all of God’s inheritance.

Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Memoirs of Africa: “Oldonyio Lenkai”

I just got back from doing a weekend seminar in Simba (Lion), in the east- central part of Kenya at “Oldonyio Lenkai Church” (Maasai for – Mountain of God), pastored by Samuel Kinaya.  It truly was a weekend filled with God’s love and goodness. This church is situated near a hill called Mountain of God where years ago Maasais discovered a circular homestead on its top. They said that this was the home of God.

When Pastor Samuel invited me several months ago for these meetings, I had no idea that it would be in Maasai Land of Kenya.  The Maasais are a traditional African tribe in Kenya and Tanzania.  Most of them live without power and water. They believe that all the cattle and grass belongs to them. Some of the non-Christians drink milk and cow’s blood; others are hunters that have killed lions, in a society where women do most of the work.

A phenomenon began in Maasai land eight years ago. A revival commenced then that today is still flourishing in a land that knew nothing about Jesus Christ. In Simba, every Maasai household has at least one believer.  Maasai women are being respected as ministers of God where only a few years ago they were almost slaves. There is a new generation of Maasais that are being freed from ungodly cultural traditions. Maasai churches are popping everywhere.

I arrived at Simba Thursday evening. The pastors came in bicycles to pick up my bags. Pastor Samuel told me that it had rained every day. As we began to walk the two-mile trek to his home pouring rains fell on us for 45 minutes. By the time that we arrived, I was drenched to my wallet and cell phone.

His home, like many Maasai homes, has no power or water. In addition there is not even a toilet hole in the ground.  His, is God’s bathroom in the vastness of mud, grass and bushes.

Mary and I are used to taking bottle water, toilet paper, pillows and blankets, flashlight, and a mirror for our seminars. I remembered my crisis in Tanzania doing Number Two and the Tanzanians not understanding my Swahili.  Pastor Samuel told me that if I ran into this problem they would take me to a friend’s home probably about two miles away! Needless to say I prayed and begged God that I would not have to go Number Two until I got back to Kitengela on Monday.

Thursday night in the reprieve of the rain many people from neighboring homes came to meet me and get prayer. In the intimacy of a small kerosene lamp we prayed and prophesied to everyone.

As I went to bed in my tiny room the pouring rains commenced again lasting until early morning. In the middle of the night, lo and behold, I woke up with a strong urge to do Number Two. I argued with God on my bed and told Him that I had asked Him not to allow this to happen. The urge just grew stronger. I took my flashlight; put on my mud caked shoes and woke up the pastor who proceeded to open the metal door for me. As I began to tread into the mud-flooded fields the rains suddenly and absolutely stopped! I came back from my small ordeal totally dry and with a notion of confidence that by the mercy of God I was conquering my fear. As I went back to bed the rains began again. One hour later, I woke up again, Number Two beckoning again. Armed with toilet paper and mud logged shoes I woke up the pastor again. When I got to the door, God stopped the rains once again! Dry as a whistle and brimming with confidence I went to the bush and back to bed. The rains would not restart for another one hour. In the silence of my bed I heard a man violently coughing, yelling, coughing and yelling. It sounded as if he would die. I woke up the pastor a third time to find out that this man was a drunkard, the husband of one of the ladies that I had prayed for earlier. I was told that every time he got drunk he would get like this. That night I knew that I had to talk to him about the Lord.

Friday morning we were met with a cup of tea and the presence of a young man who walked miles in the muds of Simba. His baby sister, four days of age, laid dying. The pastor was to walk with him and pray for the baby. God suddenly gave me Acts 19:11,12.

11  And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
12  So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

We got a handkerchief, prayed for it, anointed it with oil and gave it to the pastor who proceeded out the door.  Friday afternoon, when I got to church, I found out about the miracle that happened. When the pastor got to the baby’s home, he found her with eyes closed and barely breathing. The handkerchief was placed on her face. She began to breathe and eventually opened her eyes and was healed. The mother who had cancer in both of her breasts, in pain, and unable to nurse, placed the same handkerchief on her chest. The pain left her and she began to nurse! Hallelujah to the Lamb of God!

Friday night several pastors came to visit us. In the dim light of the kerosene lamp as we talked a man was brought to me. He stared with a big smile on his face.  This was the man who I had heard violently coughing the night before, by the name of Turasha.  We proceeded to his home where I narrated through an interpreter how God had saved me and delivered me twenty-eight years ago from alcoholism and drugs. Turasha gave his heart to the Lord that night. His wife rejoiced and spoke to me the only English word she knew; “Thank you.”

Saturday evening at Oldonyio Lenkai Church during the teaching, the clouds and thunder came once again. People scampered out of the church to dash miles back to their homes. God had me say in a loud voice, “Lord, I bind these rains in Jesus Name until these people are able to get home!” Though the skies stayed black and threatening it did not rain for three hours! We saw the same miracle Sunday night.

That evening as we walked home under a moon covered by clouds, we took another path due to mud. As we neared the pastor’s residence we met an area filled with big rocks hidden under grass and mud. The men of God located every rock before I got there, held my hands and guided me around them. This process lasted for twenty minutes until we had made it safely across. God later gave me this scripture of Psalms 91. Such is His love for us.

11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Sunday, the meetings began earlier. The Lord had me only minister and not teach. Most of these people have never gotten a word of prophecy. God had us begin with those that were in need of healing. We had the privilege of seeing many instantaneous manifestations of healings. A number of people came forward that had severe pains in their arms, sides of their bodies, and legs. In every case the pain instantaneously left them. One lady suffered from deafness in her ears. The Lord spoke, “Ears open up in Jesus Name”. In my hands I felt her ears open up. One pastor talked to her in a very low voice close to the back of the church, She could hear! Hallelujah. Another man came with bloodshot and aching eyes. The power of God went like a gush of fire into his eyes as he fell down to the ground. Upon getting up all of the pain was gone though his eyes were still red.  A few hours later as we were getting ready to leave, his eyes were clearing up. Yet another woman came and complained of such weakness and tiredness that she could not pick up heavy objects, even her own child. After prayer we gave her a heavy wooden chair that she picked and swung around for a minute or so without fatigue. Later I spotted her actively dancing during worship.

Others brought us articles of clothes belonging to sick loved ones, which we prayed over and anointed with oil.

There were many wonderful prophecies. One which stood to me was for a lady whom I prophesied to “ I see you writing a letter with a pen”.  She said to me, “I cannot write or read! We decreed that God was going to open up a door for her to learn to read and write.

Monday morning as I was getting ready to pack and go home a mother brought a four-year-old girl by the name of Purity to us. She looked like she was dying, as she lay motionless with her mouth wide opened.  On top of that every 10 minutes she would be gripped with a violent seizure. We found out that at the age of two she had been given an injection of quinine because of malaria. Since that time, she had remained in this weakened and semi vegetative state.

We had words about a spirit of death, witchcraft, and the effects of the quinine and malaria. Everything was broken and we then felt that God now would heal her. The mother then fed her little spoonfuls of rice, which Purity struggled to eat, but swallowed a bit. Still very weak, I had Pastor John pray for God’s infilling her with His glory. As he opened his mouth, Purity began screaming. There was an absolute look of terror in her eyes. I was reminded of the little mute boy that we had prayed for in Chuka earlier in the year. The look of fright on that boy was the face of a terrorized demon that was being cast out. Purity had that same look. It was the panicked face of the spirit of death as he lost his grasp on the little girl. At the moment that the demon left, Purity’s face was transformed from one that had death written all over it to a little girl who is still sick and weak. As the mother put little Purity on her back for the walk home I knew in my spirit that God was to heal her gradually. Truly a glorious weekend filled with the love and goodness of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bicycle Evangelists And The Truck Caught In The Thicket

Gen 22:13  And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

14  And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

This account of my time in Tanzania took place somewhere in 2006.

I just got back from Arusha , Tanzania and hope to share some of the pictures with you on my next update.

Arusha is a tourist town close to Mt. Kilimanjaro , the largest mountain in Africa, over 19,000 feet high.  To my great dismay in  the town of Moshi at the foot of Kilimanjaro, the top of the huge mountain was shrouded over with clouds.

My hosts were Bishop Stephen Mbata and his wife Faith who pastor  six Mt. Horeb Churches  in Tanzania . My first two days were spent in Arusha teaching a seminar.

African Christians have a great hunger for the Word of God after receiving many years of preaching but little teaching. We saw powerful manifestations of the power of God especially in healings. People extended the palms of their hands forward and at the slapping of the palms everyone either was flung back or fell down under the power.

On Thursday we boarded a bus to Mabati, a town three hours away in rural Tanzania . We were to teach four-day seminar in Kisangaji, twenty miles from Mabati, where Mt. Horeb has one of its branches.

Upon our arrival, the last bus to Kisangaji had already departed. Two bicycle evangelists came to greet us on bicycles, the main mode of transportation in these rural areas. They proposed that I would ride for one hour on the back of a  bicycle. I frowned in anger really big at the Lord.

I knew that my displeasure was plain to all.

Then just like  in the account of Abraham and the ram caught in a thicket with the impending slaying of Isaac, I met my Jehovah Jireh.

As I lifted up my eyes and looked, a truck that would take Kisangajians to their destination for a small fee was just ready to leave.

I was immediately hoisted up and packed in with another twenty people and sat on top of big rice sacks. God gave me a rope to hold on that was tied to a bar on the truck and we all laughed at seeing this white man swaying back and forth like jello on the bumpy roads to Kisangaji.

Take It To The Limit One More Time

1 Cor 15:45  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

46  Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

47  The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

The image of the Christian is Christ Jesus formed in her. Her identity is that of the Second Adam.

For every believer the implications of having the identity of the Second Adam, has profound ramifications.

I confess that I understand little. I do know that Adam was created anew. Everything in him was fresh, novel, eternal and unmarred by sin.

He was the archetype and prototype of an eternal humanity created by God to be with Him and enjoy Him.

Had Adam not sinned, God, as the man Jesus Christ, would have not died at Cavalry.

Paul tells us that old things have passed away, and all things have been made new in the Second Adam. In this Adam, what was infirmed was raised in power. What was corrupt and temporal was raised up incorrupt and eternal. What abided in dishonor has been raised up in glory. What was subject to death, is now subject to life.

This is the prospective of the new prototype of humanity whom we now are. God has redeemed us back to His archetype for the eternal person. The first prototype originating from the archetype got messed up. The Christian now is the second prototype.

Of course we are going to die, but I am convinced that we can get much renovation, restoration, healing and deliverance from  our new prototype. The sky is the limit for the child of God, in Christ Jesus.

How hungry are we for revelation of the new prototype of eternal humanity? How desperate are we?  Know we not that God work best out of holy desperation? Our end is God’s beginning

Are we waiting for the sweet bye and bye when Saint Peter greets us at the pearly gate?

What is the definition of a Christian? What is his purpose? Why did God save us and leave us on earth. Is it to just to go to church, and become part of a Christian ghetto?   Or is it to manifest the original archetype of humanity in this second prototype to a dying planet?

God tells us that the world desperately craves for the revelation of this new prototype of humanity that it can become and is in sole possession of the church. If the church does not show it, the world cannot have it.

As those philosophers of old, The Eagles, once sang, and would now sing to the church; “Take it to the limit, one more time.”

A Cup Of Colombian Coffee and Some God Thoughts

The danger of some of the new culturally friendly, politically correct, palatable paraphrase versions of the Bible is that for many, it will create dumbed down, bound in chains, and weakened believers.

Transformation and metamorphosis into the image of Christ will cost you all that you have. It’s hard work, but its worth is above all money and riches.
We live in times where we want everything to be easy, pleasant and with little sacrifice. God many times works  in opposite ways to these.
The image of Christ has no pain. He dwells in liberty and power.

The image of Christ is created in you in proportion to how closely you live your life by the untainted exactness of God’s Word. The huge inaccuracies of these new paraphrases will not transform you into a place of freedom.

For the unchurched, I can see some value.
I perceive in part these new paraphrases as used by the enemy to keep believers in bondage through the mediocrity of cultural relevancy, the unobtrusiveness of political correctness, rather than the freedom which is produced through sacrificial studying to find the unalloyed precision of the Word of God.

Believers beware and see where the cunning hand of enemy might be used in these new paraphrases.

We must study the revivals of the past and its leaders, William Seymour, Evan Roberts, Charles Finney and Smith Wigglesworth. However if we go back to simply cherish in the glories of these people, without learning, and then looking immediately forward to how God can use us now, we commit a grave mistake.

If you are in to just read and read, you have sorely missed the boat.

I believe that revivals and awakenings are more needed now than when these people lived.

We live in far more perilous times than them.

We must become the revivalists and awakeners of today.  Their ceilings should be our floors. We have infinitely far more Biblical resources than what they did.

John 14:13  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that<5124>?  will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Whatsoever: The whatever, whosoever, whatsoever, no matter how big, small, difficult, impossible in the realm of Jesus Name, or what He wills for us to do by His voice.

“That“ is Strong’s number # 5124 (Touto):  “That thing, or this thing.”

The “That” ( touto) is in the Greek accusative noun case.

In the Greek, the accusative case is just what it says. The accusing finger points towards the object that will receive all judgment, sentence, or wrath. It’s a receptacle into where all is focused or pointed to. The accused object is the receptacle or the goal of the judgment.

If we turn this into to something good, the object, placed in the accusative case, is the thing that all benefits is poured or funneled into.

Because Jesus is the God of the now and immediacy, He answers “that thing” or “this thing” whatsoever, whatever, or whosoever it is, in the whenever, or when we ask Him to.

“If you should petition Me for something, whether it is, that thing, or this thing  within My Name, I will perform (do; make; create; form) this thing, or that thing, when you ask me.

I have recently discovered this thrilling principle in ministry.

The Hebrew word for faith is “emunah” from where our word  ‘amen” or  “so be it” originates.

One Bible translator interjects the word confidence wherever faith appears.

Nothing moves God more than our asking Him with “radical, stepping out into the water confidence” that what  we ask WILL happen just as we entreated Him.

Eph 3:12  In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Access into God’s invisible treasures comes by faith that is “soaking wet” in boldness and confidence. I call it “humble demanding.”

John 14:13  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that<5124>?  will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Whatsoever we ask in the realm of Jesus Name or His will, that thing, or this thing, He will do, when He we ask Him.

I have tried out this principle in ministry and “it’s out of the box radical awesomeness.”  It works!

Jesus wants to give us so much  more than what we can think.

It’s our limited, doubting, unbelieving, box thinking that restricts Him.

Repentance is the word “metanous or metanoia”, or the exchange of one brain for another so that we can enter in and do the works of the kingdom.

Our greatest enemy is not the devil, it’s our unrenewed mind.

The church is in serious need of a brainwashing.

If we can ask believing in our hearts…I say believing, without doubting!

If you can’t believe in your heart, most probably it’s not the will of God. But if you can believe it, Jesus will give to you as specific and as targeted, proportionally to how targeted and specifically you were in what you asked.

The more exact you are with your request, the more exact you will receive from Jesus. The more believing you are for immediacy of answer, the quicker that Jesus will answer you.

We have not begun to scratch the surface of how much and how fast Jesus wants to give to us, if we’d just stop doubting and beating around the proverbial bush of fear.

Exactness in asking, exactness in getting. Specificity in your requests, specificity in your answers. Try it out !

Mt 8:9  For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this <5124>, and he doeth it.

Mt 9:28  And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this <5124>? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.

Here are two instances of the marvelous word “touto”.   As I said, “touto” is defined as “ that thing”, or “this thing.”

The marvel which Jesus exhibited at the faith of the centurion is that what the centurion commanded his servant to do, about this thing, and that thing, it was accomplished. This is faith, this is authority, this is emunah, this is confidence.

How about you stepping out in ministry and commanding this thing and that thing to happen, when you say it?

Jesus asks you today, “ believe ye that I am able to do thing and that thing just as you wish?

We had two prayer lines yesterday during our service. I began to flow more into commanding  this thing and that thing to be given to the people. To my shock, God obliged me in everything I commanded.

Emunah, my friends, emunah. It was powerful and exhilarating. Our God is so good.

14  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. (IT) The thing asked

The direct object can be found in the formula of the “subject + verb” = the direct object.

“Ye” or “you” is the subject, “ask “is the verb.

The word “it” is not in the Greek text, but is interpolated.

Jesus doubles on His promise. “That thing, or this thing, whatsoever it is, and when you ask me, that thing, I will do IT !” Glory!

Have a great Monday!

Two People Who Inspire Me This Monday

These are two people whom inspire me.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani is an Iranese Christian Pastor who is in prison. He was locked  because he refused to convert to Islam. A few days back Iranese officials offered Pastor Yousef liberty if he recanted on his Christian faith. The pastor once again said no.

Yousef could be executed at any time. It’s been the hand of God through the prayers of many, and signed petitions to politicians that have delayed his executions.

Please do not forget Pastor Yousef in prayers and by making your voice heard politically.

Maria Corina Machado is a Venezuelan politician. In this video she confronts Venezuela’s communist president Hugo Chavez. I am sorry that the video is in Spanish. She calls Hugo Chavez a thief to his face, and that in front of his supporters. The courage of this lady to stand against evil inspires me. Even if you cannot understand Spanish take out four minutes to witness the marvelous exchange. She reminds me of Paul confronting King Agrippa.

I believe that God is calling you and me to this kind of courage.

The Plight of Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani

Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani

Pastor Yousef is an Iranese pastor who is going  to his third year in Iran’s prison, simply because he refuses to renounce his Christian faith in Jesus Christ.

His execution has been imminent for months. It has been the pressure from global Christian groups that has delayed it.

The rumor circulating now is that the Iran’s government will execute him secretly at any moment

Please pray for Pastor Youself and take action by signing these petitions to the Iran Ambassador.

Thank you,  Jose
