How to Get Out Of The Cell of the Wide Open Door?

Col 1: 13  He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred (physically relocated) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

Colossians 1:13 uses the aorist tense for the verbs, “delivered” and “transferred.”

The Greek aorist is called the photographic or punctiliar tense.

It defines a past event, not in the context of what it means, but in its occurrence.

The event is labeled simply as a photograph or a punctuation mark on history’s time line.

Hence the terms, photographic or punctiliar.

So for those in Christ, we have once and for all being rescued from darkness’s jurisdiction and have been physically relocated, transported and re assigned to God’s kingdom.

So why do we still struggle so much with the dominion of darkness?

In my life, the reasons are varied.

All of them have to do with the devil’s tactics.

For one, I believe that my ancestors were into Santeria or witchcraft.

Generational sins or demons are a complex issue.

I know  little about it.

Suffice it to say, that stuff coming down my family line, have clobbered me.

I’ve had to spend time in prayer to break them all.

Secondly, is the issue of the demonic strongman.

I’m convinced that every person and every Christian has an assigned strong man demon which afflicts them.

Though we have been relocated to the kingdom of God, the schemes of the strong man do not automatically break.

For observed freedom to come, one must identify his or her particular strong man and figure out his lies.

This is can be an extended but crucial process.

But what I submit to you today is the “prison of the wide opened door.”

Relocation from the devil’s jurisdiction to God’s kingdom is the conclusion of your prison sentence and subsequent release back into society.

But for many, I included, we continue to sit in the cell, with the door in front of us, wide opened

How can this be?

The trickiest obstacle to freedom is the prison created by our imaginations, and the knowledge which exalts itself over God’s, of who we were before Christ, and who we are now in Him.

It has taken me months of prayer to work through the entangled thoughts that have kept me in the prison of the wide opened door.

I don’t have an answer for your journey.

But, I will tell you why solving your dilemma is so vital and yet so darn difficult.

It’s the toughest thing you will ever do.

Rom 3:27  Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through the law of faith.

Faith is a law.

A law is defined that under specific circumstances, specific results always take place.

Faith works with positive and negative circumstances. It’s a law!

If you believe that you are in prison, and don’t realize that the door is opened, and that you are free, you will remain in it.

What is worse is this!

The devil has been defeated.  But as the father of lies, he feeds on lies, just like a tick feeds on blood.

The biggest lie, which he has propagated on humanity, is to make it believe that he does not exist.

If you faith is that you are still in prison when you are not, you will remain in it, because of the law of faith. You have believed the lie.

And the old devil will indulge the errors of your way, by endlessly attacking you just like if you were still in bondage.

If you are not experiencing at the beginnings of resurrection life, I counsel you to dedicate serious time to finding out why you still sit in your cell of the wide open door.

What Is Under Your Hood ?

Rom 6:1 What, then, shall we declare? That we may be persisting in sin that grace should be increasing?

Shall we park our cars in the lot of sin?

Rom 6:2 May it not be coming to that! We, who died to sin, how shall we still be living in it?

May this not be your reality.

How can anyone who died in his relationship to sin remain in an active relationship of being influenced by it?

Or how can you be influenced by something when you are dead. In Christ, you are a corpse as to who you were.

So can a corpse be enticed?

Sin is not dead. But our relationship to it is!

Rom 6:3 Or are you ignorant that whoever are baptized into Christ Jesus, are baptized into His death?

If you were baptized into Chris you were baptized into the entire death process which He suffered.

Rom 6:4 We, then, were entombed together with Him through baptism into death, that, even as Christ was roused from among the dead through the glory of the Father, thus we also should be walking in newness of life.”

Only the dead person entombed can enjoy the privilege of being raised up.

Rom 6:5 For if we have become planted together in the likeness of His death, nevertheless we shall be of the resurrection also,

When we you experienced becoming planted and grown together in His death process, then we can you experience the process of being grown together in His upstanding or resurrection. Have you experienced it?

Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old humanity (decrepit, cane walking, toothless, nursing home humanity) was crucified together with Him, that the body of Sin may be nullified, for us by no means to be still slaving for Sin,

Our” old in age and decrepit humanity” was co crucified with Him on the so that the body or engine which generates sin became nonfunctional and non-operational

This decaying, ancient, cane walking, toothless, nursing home, humanity in Romans is called the sinful nature.

Every person has this crumbling and run-down humanity intact within them.

When the sperm and the egg unite, they automatically form this 120 year old man deep inside the embryo.

This humanity is also called “the engine which creates and produces nonstop sin.”

This is why the world is so messed up. It’s full of billions of people who can do nothing else but sin, because of the engine which they possess, which generates sin in them.

The cross which the person becomes co crucified on, is the monkey wrench thrown into this engine which breaks it down, and causes it to immediately stop working.

No other “so called” religion can do that.

Has your sin producing engine been destroyed?

At the moment that a person becomes born again, the sin producing motor suspends its operations, and the person becomes free from being coerced by it.

At that instant that this engine stops, a new one automatically becomes formed.

it’s a brand spanking new motor outfitted to produce a type of life which is eternal in nature.

This is truly what the forgiveness of sin means.

To have your sins forgiven, means that this once active sin producing device has been destroyed and that a new one which can generate eternal life has been positioned in you.

Now you are ready to live forever because of your eternal life generating appliance.

This device is called Christ Jesus.

Has your old engine been destroyed? Or is it busily humming away?

Have you purchased your monkey wrench today? You can find it in a store called “The Cross of Christ.” Don’t go home without it.

If you die today, unexpectedly, will you find yourself with a sin producing or an eternal life producing engine?

What is under your hood?

Rom 6:10 for in that He died, He died to Sin once (epaphax) for all time, yet in that He is living, He is living to God.”

Epaphax.   Done at once, only one time needed, all that is needed to pay for sin is done one time and at one instance, with no need to ever repeat it.

Rom 6:11 Thus you also, be reckoning yourselves to be dead, indeed, to Sin, yet living to God in Christ Jesus, our Lord.”

As to your reality then account yourself to be totally and completely freed from sin, but living moreover to God at this very instant.

The author, when he still had the old engine!

What Is Freedom?

For many, freedom is the power to choose as they will and to do anything that they will. But for Jesuit theologian Karl Rahner freedom has to do with the actualization of human existence in its unity and totality. In other words, freedom is the conscientious choices that man make towards becoming the realized human that he was created to be in all of his unity and totality. The work of Jesus Christ was to re-open the door for human being to become the transcendental, supernatural, eternal creäture, liberated from death and corruption, and fit to the enjoy the realms of eternal glories, in company of the eternal God. This is what Rahner calls the actualization of human existence in its unity and totality. Hence any pre conceived freedom which man performs which does not take him towards the actualization of the fullness of his human existence is really not freedom but slavery.  In Christ Jesus, I believe, dwells then the true freedom of man.

“One is the Loneliest Number That You’ll Ever Do”

Ro 6:10  For in that He died, He died unto sin once (ephapax) ; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

1Co 15:6  and that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once (ephapax)  of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some have fallen asleep.

Heb 7:27  who needeth not, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice daily first for his own sins and then for the people’s; for this He did once (ephapax) when He offered up Himself.

Heb 9:12  neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, entered in once (ephapax) into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Heb 10:10  By this will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once (ephapax) for all.

There are few Biblical words more formidable than the Greek (Ephapax).

This little word appears only five times in the NT.

The enigma of Ephapax is that though its Biblical significance is staggering,  it is ignored by the reader due that its English counterpart is the little word, “once.”

Once is one.  We don’t want one, we want many.  When our eyes survey “one” or “once” it insignificant, unimportant.

As those prophets of old , Three Dog Night once sang,  “One is the Loneliest Number That You’ll Ever Do.”

Shortly after marriage to my beloved Mary, she became by default, a New Testament widow. I say this tongue and cheek, of course.

I received a calling from God right after our vows to learn New Testament Greek. For every birthday and Christmas I requested Greek reference books. Mary could never surprise me! In our early wed days, she’d watched TV, and  I’d be hiding in our bedroom poring over Greek grammar, cases and tenses.

The revelation knowledge of the Word which sets us free was hyperbolically heightened to me in the Greek. Once I learned to read in Greek I have never gone back to English. It’s like comparing Filet Mignon to ground turkey.

I tell all my readers that if they truly want to become free in Christ, learn some NT Greek. Now it’s all free in the free Bible programs.  There is no excuse not to become a Greek NT scholar if you want to.

Ro 6:10  For in that He died, He died unto sin once (ephapax) ; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

But this lonely word Ephapax ; “at once, all at once, and once and for all” is colossal to the work of Christ. If I did not know Greek, Ephapax would have been One is the Loneliest Number That I’ll Ever Do.

Ro 6:10  For in that He died, He died unto sin once (ephapax) ; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

When Christ died for sin, it was “at once, all at once, and once and for all”.

What does that signify to us?  When Christ died on the cross, the Christian died with Him.

To be born again is to be placed In Christ. Think of yourself, a piece of paper, stuck in a book. The book is Christ.  Being born again is to be stuck inside the pages of the book. If the book is dropped you are dropped because you are inside the book. When the book is picked from the floor, so are you, because you are inside the book.  When Christ died you died. Thus you have entered inside His death. A dead man cannot be sick, neither can he sin. The death of Christ set us free from the sin producing nature which generates all this junk. Now mind you, the sinful habits stay. This is where your mind’s renewal comes in. But it’s an undisputable historical fact that you are dead. A corpse is free! Epahapax!

Ro 6:10  For in that He died, He died unto sin once (ephapax) ; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God.

When Christ died for sin, it was “at once, all at once, and once and for all”.

At once you died with Christ, all at once, or every part of you at once died, and once and for all you died. No more is needed. At once on the cross, all parts of you at once, and once and for all for eternity died, you are free. If you think  that you are still dying, you won’t become free. Ephapax!

Heb 7:27  who needeth not, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice daily first for his own sins and then for the people’s; for this He did once (ephapax) when He offered up Himself.

When Christ offered up Himself for your sins, it was “at once, all at once, and once and for all”.

Again, you are free from sin because of Epaphax.

2Co 5:21  For He hath made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be made the (a) righteousness of God in Him.

Not “the righteousness” but “a righteousness.”

The righteousness of God is the invisible perfections of God made visibly manifested. We are as healthy, as perfect, as holy, as free, and as glorious as God is. Of course we will not see  it completely in this life, but we certainly can make a dent into this new life now.

Ephapax; dead to sin, alive to righteousness.

Heb 9:12  neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood, entered in once (ephapax) into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Christ entered into the Holy of Holy’s (ephapax): “at once, all at once, and once and for all”.

Because of this, you are not only guaranteed eternal life, but eternal life in a glorious and free body.  Redemption is the purchase price paid for the liberation of a salve. For you, it was the slavery to sin. The purchase price for your liberation was the blood of Christ.  You have been bought not with things that will perish such as silver and gold, but with the most precious blood of The Lamb without spot and wrinkle. Ephapax.

Heb 10:10  By this will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once (ephapax) for all.

Righteousness is the product of sanctification. We are as perfect, as free and whole as God Himself, because we are His righteousness. Righteousness has been attained because we have been sanctified through the offering of Christ’s body on the cross. Ephapax.

So when in doubt “Ephapax”!

Don’t despise small things, or small beginnings. Don’t think of “once” or “One is the Loneliest Number That You’ll Ever Do,” in a bad way.

“ One” Three Dog Night

One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It’s the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you’ll ever know
Yes, it’s the saddest experience you’ll ever know
`Cause one is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
One is the loneliest number, worse than two

It’s just no good anymore since she went away
Now I spend my time just making rhymes of yesterday

One is the loneliest, number one is the loneliest
Number one is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
One is the loneliest, one is the loneliest
One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
It’s just no good anymore since she went away
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do
