What Is The Great Catalyst?

Eph 3:12 In whom we have boldness and ACCESS with confidence by the faith of him.

Romans 5:2 By whom also we have ACCESS by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

CONFIDENCE in the voice of God is the great catalyst of energy which releases the gifts and the power of God.

It gives us the boldness to access the realities of God’s kingdom.

The amount of confidence that we have in obeying God, or giving a word, or praying for someone, is directly proportional to the access that we will have to the anointing, the power, the gifts or to the grace of God.

Confidence by faith gives us boldness with God and most important of all, ACCESS into the things of the kingdom of God.

“ACCESS” in the things of the kingdom of God is the right to obtain or use or take advantage of something (as services or membership).

Five minutes of prayer with absolute confidence in the voice of the Spirit does more than a month of praying in doubt!

Any incremental increase in our confidence will exponentially increase ACCESS into the things of the kingdom

Seven Rules For Healthy Christian Living

Heb 1:2 has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;

RULE # 1: God has spoken to us by ONE THING.

RULE # 2: He has given us ONE THING!

That one thing is His Son, Jesus Christ.

Col 2:2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being joined together in love, and to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to a full knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,

3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Eph 3:8 To me, the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

RULE # 3: All that God is, has, and wants to do, lives IN or INSIDE His Son.

RULE # 4: All blessing, riches, and treasures which belong to God live inside of His Son.

The church is enticed to ask God for a variety of blessings, when it should be asking God for a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Revelation means to uncover!

This is so that Christ, the one thing, who is the container of all of God’s treasures and riches, can be uncovered in you.

RULE # 5: As Jesus is uncovered, God’s treasures, and riches are automatically uncovered along with Him.

RULE # 6: The more that He is uncovered, the more that the treasures and riches are automatically too.

Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

God will not compromise. God will not negotiate. Everything is inside His Son.

RULE # 7: So quit looking for blessings all around and focus on uncovering Jesus inside of you where all blessings live.

Let Revival Begin!

Dear Friends:

God has called us back to New York, specifically to the city of Nyack in Rockland County.

This is our sixth trip to Nyack from Miami.

The dates are September 15 – November 14th.

Our journeys began four years ago during visits to our daughter who was attending college in New York City.

I thought I would never have a desire to minister in big cities, but God not only gave us a love for New York, but revealed that He is doing a great work in the northeast.

Through a mutual friend we got connected with David Kim, pastor of Silver Springs Vineyard Church of Nyack.

Nyack is 50 minutes north of Manhattan on the Hudson River.

Through Pastor David we have met wonderful people in Rockland County.

With each trip God has increased the work which He is dynamically accomplishing with those inside and outside the churches of Rockland County.

New York City and Nyack both share in a rich revival history.

In 1857, God called Jeremiah Lamphere to initiate one of America’s Great Awakenings in Southern Manhattan near Wall Street.

In 1882, one of the foremost figure in the American missionary movement, AB Simpson, founded Nyack College as a training school for missionaries to fulfill the Great Commission of world evangelization.

Nyack College was the first Bible College in the USA.

The wells of revival dug by these great works have created an open heaven in this part of the country conducive to yet another revival which will impact the nation and the world.

In one of our trips we met Pastor Greg Manalli, of Fellowship of Life Church, in Cheshire, Connecticut.

He has prayed for revival in the northeast for more than thirty years.

Pastor Greg showed us three paintings of a vision which he received in 1980’s,

In them, the bellows of God blew revival winds into the New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts area with a great resultant harvest of souls.

The northeast is uniquely situated for a move of God which can touch millions at one time. There is no other region like it.

Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore, and Washington DC, are all along the 1 -95 corridor and just hours from each other. Breaking revival in one area will quickly spread through this corridor.

With the social media phenomena the effects of a northeast revival will be explosive.

It is to this area that God continues to send Mary and me back, again and again.

The trips are expensive because we deal with two set of bills, one for New York and another for Miami.

Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us financially in bringing revival to our great nation?

Our corporation Emerging, Inc. is a 501 C 3 non profit ministry.

We issue you receipts at the end of the year for your taxable deductions.

Also consider connecting with us through social media if you are on it.

Thank you, and many blessings,

Jose and Mary

Steps from Nyack College

In this picture of Nyack College you can see steps on the right side. These steps go all the way down to the Hudson River at the foreground of the photo. Missionaries and missionary students from all over the world would from NYC, take boats to Nyack. From the Hudson River, with luggage and all, they would climb the hundreds of steps leading to the college.

How I Met St. Peters Angel?

Acts 12:7  And behold, an angel of the Lord stood there, and a light shined in the prison room; and striking the side of Peter, he roused him saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell away from his hands.

8  And the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and put on your sandals”; and he did so. And he said to him, “Put on your cloak and follow me.”

9  And going out, he was following him, and did not know that the thing taking place by the angel was true, but he was thinking that he was seeing a vision.

10  And going though the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate which leads into the city, which was opened to them of its own accord; and going out, they went forward one street, and immediately the angel withdrew from him.

11  And Peter, having come to himself, said, “Now I know truly that the Lord has sent forth His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jews.”

I’d  visit a hang out where  men of a city converged to drink and pass the night.

This place had been there forever.

You’d drive by and see men and women drunk, others reveling, some even stoned.

It had been my practice to visit the hangout, befriend the men and share the gospel in a spontaneous and non-threatening fashion.

I had been nicknamed “the preacher,”

One night though, things were very different. Some of the men had sniffed cocaine, were high as kites and were very confrontational.

As I mingled, one charged me with mal treating my children.

“I walked past the preacher’s home today and heard one of his kid’s screaming”, he snapped in a heated way.

I knew what had happened. My kids were small in those days. One of my daughters was in the habit of screaming bloody murder when she did not get her way.

That morning, my wife Mary, had washed her hair and wanted to brush out the knots.

Mary had not begun the brushing but my daughter was screaming in its anticipation.

This guy had walked past my house when this was happening.

“The preacher was beating his kid!” he rejoined, in a loud voice.

Another coked out dude joined the fray.  “Yeah, preacher, that’s really bad, what did you do to your kid?”

He began pushing me.

I expounded on what had occurred to the fifteen men that were there. None of them said a word. Many of them I knew personally. No one came to my defense.

The loud mouthed and confrontational ones continued inflaming the tempers of the others. “Yeah, we gotta punish the preacher for what he does to his kids!”

One continued to push me around. The others sat in silence, as if their tongues had been cut out.  I was dumb founded and frightened.

The ring leader retorted, “Let’s hang the preacher!”

With that he found a rope and began to make a noose for my lynching. The other one kept on pushing me, while several more hurled accusations.

I appealed to the men who knew me the best, “You’ve known me for years! You see me with my children!”

Nothing. The silence was deafening.

Meanwhile the agitator in a corner gleefully continued constructing the noose.

Suddenly, out of nowhere a girl, a teen ager, appeared.  She was a native of the city.

“Come and follow me”.

She led me past the crowd of the men. Even my agitators were speechless.

“Get in your car and get out here.”

Then she departed from me.

And so I did. I never visited this haunt again, needless to say.

This had been Peter’s angel sent to me.

It’s tragically comical that it took a woman, probably the only one in that joint to rescue me. The men who had been friends were cowardly and spineless.

In our global travels, it’s mostly the women who have supported our ministry, while the men have been heartbreakingly absent.

This is one reason I support women in the ministry. It is troublesome that men who argue against their inclusion in the pulpit are sedentary in the activities of their local congregations.

This story ends on a good note, as with all that God does.

Months later, I saw my noose maker. I said hello, extended my hand and shook his. He stared at me in disbelief, frozen in time, God’s conviction raining on him. Never uttering a word, he walked away. I’ve prayed for him on occasions. I knew he lived in pain.

To this day, I’ve not been able to find my angel to thank her. Maybe in heaven I’ll find out that she was St. Peter’s angel.

Why Is A Christian Like Popeye The Sailor Man?

Eph 6: 10 Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

In the Greek:  “Be empowered in the Lord and in the domination or dominion exerted by His inner residing strength.”

  • This dominion or domination is what gives the Lord Jesus the ability to subdue all things back to Himself.
  •  The revelation of Christ within us, reveals the Christ who dominates and subdues all, thus setting us free.

This is what it means by “the power of his might.”

Do you remember the episodes of Popeye and Olive Oil?

This scripture is a perfect representation of what happened to Popeye.

Popeye was a fairly weak guy.

When he ate the can of spinach he became inwardly strong; his external arm muscles popped out, he then rang Bluto’s neck, and took the lovely Olive Oil back as his prized possession.

Or to paraphrase it in another way, the tremendous inner residing strength that is multiplied within Popeye at the eating of the can of spinach is translated into a manifestation of outward strength which caused him to dominate and conquer all, even Bluto.

So what is Paul commanding us to us? For us to be empowered with this powerful combo of God’s inward strength that turns into outward dominion.

  • The spinach is the revelation of Jesus in us.
  • We are strong if we eat of the spinach, Jesus Christ, but nothing if we don’t.
  • Every Christian is a Popeye. So eat Jesus, your spinach.

Joh 6:54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up in the last day.

Joh 6:56  He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

What Is The Price of Excellence?

One of my father’s favorite saying is, “for everything in life there is a price to pay. The greater the thing, the greater the price.”

  • Excellence demands sacrifice.
  • Self-denial in many good things to focus on the few exceptional is the path to leadership.

Php 1:10  That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

  • The devil will give us the good, even the very good, if it will deviate us from the bull’s-eye of God’s  excellent will. Busyness is the path to the good. Hearing and obeying God’s narrow voice is the one to the excellent.
  • In proportion to how close we hit the bull’s eye of His straight and chiseled ways is our proportion of anointing and success with God.

2Co 2:11  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. ( injected demonic thoughts into our thinking as schemes)

  • The devil’s greatest lie is to inject the symptoms of sickness, anxieties, and fears  as thoughts into the thinking of a person in an attempt of making her believe that she is the one with the problem when in reality it’s an external attack.
  • The word’s most wretched individual is the uncommitted Christian. She is the one with a foot in God’s kingdom and one in the world. She draws a line in the sand to the Lord. The Bible calls her lukewarm

Eph 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles ( methodologia ) of the devil.

  • Satan’s kingdom volleys against the Christian with the  fiery darts of lying methodologies.  As long as we believe the lie, the devil will hit and hit.

Joh 8:32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

  • It’s the knowledge of the truth which frees us.
  • If we think something to be God’s Word and yet it’s not, but we erroneously think  that it is, it won’t liberate us.

Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed  (metamorphosed)  by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

  • God’s kingdom functions by our metamorphosis and transformation into the image of Christ. Only the image of Christ attains to the victory.
  • Anyone who has noted an ugly caterpillar metamorphosed into a beautiful butterfly, appreciates the difficulty of the work.

For the Christian, transformation into the image of Christ is no different.

Micah 2:13  The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.

The prophet Micah, calls God the breaker, or The One with the breaker anointing.

  • God always functions in breakthrough.

There is no more effective way to release the breaker anointing than by intercession on our knees.

  • Because I grew up without email, Facebook  and cell phones , or pastors who took out time to speak into my life, I learned to get what I needed on my knees.

There is no greater thing than procuring from God  on your knees.

It all comes down to desperation. God is a God who pours out His holy fire on our altars of desperation.

How far, how high, how free, and how healed do you want to be?

Mt 24:35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Nothing has changed in the Bible.  What was then, today is.

As my father said, “for everything in life there is a price to pay. The greater the thing, the greater the price.”
