How To Quit Smoking?

All this stuff occurred between the late sixties and early eighties.

I smoked cigarettes for fifteen years a pack and half per day.

Later on, I began the marijuana habit which I carried for 10 years.

Between the marijuana and the cigarettes my lungs got really, really, bad.

They were in constant pain.

I was frightened.

God set me free from drugs, but the cigarettes was something which I continued in and could not stop.

Whatever I would do to quit I would miserably fail.

I was petrified that I was getting cancer.

One day in desperation I fell on my knees.

For ninety minutes, I pleaded and wept with Jesus to deliver me from the control of cigarettes.

The next morning, I just knew I did not need them anymore.

There were big weeds behind my house.

I took the package of Vantage cigarettes and flung it into them

That was 33 years ago.

I have never smoked again.

God’s deliverance do not come by what we do through ourselves, but what Jesus does through us in response to our prayers.

How Can I Target My Prayers?

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Trues intercession functions by two aspects

# 1 Helpeth or helps

# 2 Intercession

“Helpeth” or help is made up of a word triad roughly translated as “together, coming face to face, in order to take a hold of.”

Helpeth our infirmities- The Holy Spirit comes face to face with us to take a hold of our infirmities or frailties.

Praying by the voice of the Spirit causes us to come together with God.

Then the Holy Spirit arises in our spirits and comes face to face with us in order take a hold of those difficulties.

Now let’s move on to “intercession.”

It is made up of two words rendered as “the hyper hitting of the target or bull’s eye”

The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us – “The Spirit hits the target above and beyond what is normal.” Or, “The Spirit does the right thing and does it with skill.”

In intercession by Spirit’s voice, God comes face to face to take a hold of our weaknesses, and to give us  breakthroughs with bull’s eye accuracy which only He through the Holy Spirit can deliver.

When we intercede in the Spirit, we dont go wrong.

For in it God comes face to face with us, takes a hold of our requests and performs them within the bull’s eye accuracy of His will.

Rom 4:18  Who without reason for hope, in faith went on hoping, so that he became the father of a number of nations, as it had been said, So will your seed be.

19 And not being feeble in faith though his body seemed to him little better than dead (he being about a hundred years old) and Sarah was no longer able to have children:

20  Still, he did not give up faith in the undertaking of God, but was made strong by faith, giving glory to God,

21  And being certain that God was able to keep his word.

This is Dennis. He is twelve. Dennis was born with hydrocephalus. This is a medical condition in which there is an abnormal buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain.

Dennis is incapacitated, his head the size of a watermelon.

Most of the time he is not conscious, but still senses the pain.  I’ve seen him  wince.

Dennis and his mom live in Nicaragua. We have visited them twice. They dwell in poverty and are helpless to obtain required medical attention

But was impresses me is the faith of his mom. I believe her name is Isabel.

For twelve years Isabel has knocked relentlessly on heavens doors appealing God for a miracle.

Her faith has not weakened. Her gratefulness to God astounds me.

The love for a son that cannot respond back such a long time can only be that of God’s.

I post these photos not just for you the reader, but in hope that someone who has the means will be moved to help Isabel and Dennis.

Are You Desperate for a Breakthrough?

If you are desperate for your breakthrough, fast and pray.

I was led to fast starting on January 2nd.

There are particular issues that I have tried for the breakthrough, but it’s been slow in coming.

2014 was a good year. By God’s grace, I have repented from every knows sinful habit. I have dedicated myself to the greatest purity of my enire life. I thought that with these actions, breakthroughs would quickly come. But they have not.

Last night, I told God, that who I know to be in Christ, is not compatible with some of the stuff that I deal with, even when repenting.

Many years I have detected a shadowy weight which comes upon and imprisons me. No matter what I do, this thing resists me and keeps my progress in check.

As I prayed God gave me a revelation of something which occurred in my family line, before I was born. I broke it and began to experience the freedom which I have waited years for.

Case in point, in the second day of this fast, something that in years I have not obtained an answer to, came.

It’s not the fast which set me free. It’s the revelation which God gave me during the fast. This is the power of prayer and fasting. There is exponential increase in revelation knowledge which sets you free.

As Jesus says, it’s not the truth which sets us free but the revelation knowledge of it.

Person To Person

Christianity is not About Things But About the Revelation of a Person!

  • The church is supposed to preach a person, and not things, but it doesn’t!

1Co 1:23  But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

1Co 2:2  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

  • Only the Person of Christ being formed and birthed in us is of any capacity or ability for us to overcome and get the victory.

Gal6:15  For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth(inward strength and force, to have strength to overcome health, ability, capacity) any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Ga 4:19  My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,(as a baby being formed in the womb)

  • We Don’t Need Blessings, We Need the Revelation of the Person of Christ, the Source of All Blessings

Eph 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all  spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

  • In the Revelation the Person of Christ We Have a Complete Victory Over the Devil

Col 2:15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

  •  In the revelation of the Person of Jesus Christ we experience total victory over the devil

Joh 14:30  Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

1Jo 3:8  He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

  • In The Revelation of the Person of Christ We Have an Absolute Victory Against the World

1Jo 5:5  Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

  • In the Revelation of the Person of Christ We have an Absolute Victory Against the Flesh

Ga 5:24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Ro 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. The revelation of the person of Christ Jesus brings forth has broken the bondage of sin

  • In the revelation of the Person of Christ is the Source of all Spiritual Gifts

1Co 1:6  Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

1Co 1:7  So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:  The revelation of the person of Christ Jesus is the source of all spiritual gifts

Re 19:10  And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy

  • In the revelation of the Person of Christ We Are Complete and Need Nothing Else

Col 1:19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

  • In the revelation of the Person of Christ dwells all of the fullness of God.

Col 2:9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Col 2:10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: The revelation of the person of Christ Jesus makes us complete in all that God has for us, and in our deliverance and freedom.

Col 3:11  Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.   The revelation of the person of Christ Jesus fills each of us with all that Christ is and has for us in all aspects of our lives.

Eph 1:23  Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

  • In the revelation of the Person of Christ is the Power of God .

1Co 1:24  But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

  • In the revelation of the Person of Christ of Christ is our freedom from sin- redemption

1Co 1:30  But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

  • In the revelation of the Person of Christ the will of God is revealed

1Co 1:24  But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

  • In the revelation of the Person of Christ is our Healing

Mt 8:17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

The church has still not gotten it after two thousand years that its all Person to Person.

Watch Average White Band perform Person to Person

Apple Pie

Do your remember in elementary school our teachers using the example of an apple pie cut into eight pieces?  They would use this to help us comprehend fractions.  Every piece of the sliced pie would now become 1/8 of the pie.  Four pieces would be equal ½; seven pieces would be 7/8; and the eight pieces together would make the whole of the pie.

The fullness of the Lord and His manifested glory is just the same way.  The church is the apple pie.  If only one member of the church displays the fullness of the Lord, the assembly will manifest only 1/8 of his glory.  I know that it is a simplistic example, but it’s true.  If half of church’s members are holding to their responsibility to be filled with the Spirit, that local body will manifest  1/2 of God’s glory.  Displaying the fullness of the Lord takes the active participation of every member in a local body.

Many of our present church models are inaccurate in that they encourage many to become pew sitters, and very few to participate and minister.  The church is sick with the malady of “butt magnets.”

Truly only a small fraction of the Lord’s glory is displayed in our churches

In a previous study I also discussed how our church should operate as a human body, since it’s the body of Christ.

Our human body is made-up of 200 bones fastened together by tissues and ligaments.   The circulatory system makes use of our blood as it is drawn through the heart’s right chamber and makes its way through into the lungs.  The lungs furnish the blood with much needed oxygen, send it back to the heart via its left chamber, and finally propel into the main artery or aorta.  The aorta’s blood branches into smaller and smaller places. The first are arteries, designated as arterioles, which ebb into the furthest recesses of our bodies through minute capillaries.

Our immune system fends off unfriendly proteins, and infectious microorganisms, with the one two punch of antibodies.  A deadly left uppercut by the immune system makes holes in the foreign cells, and its swinging right hook swallows up and digests foreign matter.

Our digestive system starts up in our mouths. The food is broken into fragments by our chewing and is mixed with saliva.  It then goes down the esophagus and right into the stomach.  The digestive process is redoubled by the ferocious activity of gastric and intestinal juices.  The digested nutrients are then sucked into the small intestine.  The remains of unassimilated foods, and waste substances from the liver, are passed into the large intestine and gloriously expelled from our bodies.

Finally, our skin is one big living organ!  It protects us from drying up, controls the loss of fluids, and shields us from harmful substances.  Its sweat glands are our body’s air conditioning, the skin receptors distinguishing the levels of body temperature and pain, and finally our fat cells insulate us. (Excerpts are taken from Microsoft’s 1999 edition of the Encarta Encyclopedia.)

In our human body, every one of its members knows exactly what its function is, and they hold themselves responsible to fulfill them.  They do it with great effectiveness.  The members of our body do not take glory or attention upon themselves, and they always works at their peak.    Every member of our human body is active, and it is equally offensive as it is defensive in their roles.  The church as Christ’s body and should operate along the same lines as the human body.

Invite Jose and Mary to teach, speak or minister at your group or church. Blessings!

Eph 3:21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

The church’s most important job is to bring forth the glory of the Lord into all of the earth, and throughout all eternity.

Glory is the invisible God becoming visible.

The glory of God is of supreme importance.  Through it, men are ushered into eternal salvation, physical healings take place, people are set free from demonic oppression, spiritual gifts are displayed, and revival of cities and nations that ultimately change civilization are started and carried out.

Civilization’s most essential requirement, and its most desperate need, is to be capable of beholding an invisible God, who desires to make Himself plainly evident, through Jesus Christ in His glory.

The key to all of humanity’s needs, past, present, and future, lie locked in the Person of Christ.  To the proportion that the invisible Christ becomes visible to mankind by His glory, is to the exact proportion that all of mankind’s needs will be met and answered forever.

The church of Jesus Christ is GOD’S ONLY UNIVERSAL INSTRUMENT, which can make Him visible by the fullness of His glory.

Aside from His glory as seen in creation, God has made for Himself no other avenue that will allow Him to become visible in a real, personal and intimate way to people.

God’s glory manifested through the church becomes the object of the world’s praise to God.  The more glory, the more praise.  The more glory, the more that Jesus Christ will be lifted up, and draw all men unto Him.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral

1Tim 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

Supplications- specific petitions concerning our needs and desires.

Prayers- General prayers made unto God

Intercessions- An interesting word that can be defined in a variety of ways. “Conference, encounters, conversation,” are all part of intercession.  We can describe it as the act of developing a relationship with a person as to become intimate with him or her, resulting in the ability to hold conversations with that individual.

Holding sustained and intimate conversations (intercession) with the Lord can only be the result of breaking through into the Spirit realm.

Paul describes the Spirit realm as the third heaven.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Helpeth our infirmities- The Greek tells us that the Holy Spirit comes face to face with us to take a hold together with us of our infirmities and frailties.

The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us – Greek: “To hit the target above and beyond what is normal.”  I.E. “to do the right thing and do it with skill.”

The intercessory ministry of the Holy Spirit, as He comes to take a hold of our weaknesses, is to give us the breakthroughs, answers, and deliverances that we need with bull’s eye accuracy.

Riley Alvarez, A Miracle of Prayer

Friday evening, July 19th, I received a phone call from my daughter Hannah, who lives in Virginia. Her voice was desperate, almost crying. Her two-year old Chihuahua, Riley, her baby, was being rushed to the emergency vet.

She told me that Riley was acting like an old man, hardly walking. His eyes were bloodshot and closed probably from pain. He had no appetite.

The vet took Riley into the examining room for what seemed an eternity.

Hours passed as Hannah and her fiancé waited in torturous anticipation not knowing what was occurring.

It was eight o clock. I got on my knees and prayed asking God for a miracle.

Finally the vet came out. The prognosis was not good. In reality, they did not know what was wrong with Riley. There was speculation that he had ingested rat poison. The doctor said that it appeared that Riley had been struck with by a car. His blood was not coagulating. The doctor said that Riley was in bad shape and might not make it. My daughter contemplated putting him to sleep. To keep him over night would have cost them $3000.00.

They chose to take Riley home. The vet armed them with antibiotics and steroids. The doctors never did found out what was wrong with the dog.

I immediately put Riley on our church prayer chain. This is a group of thirty folks who faithfully pray for urgent prayer requests.

Then I wrote to a number of faithful friends on Face Book to do the same. In all, fifty people could have prayed for Riley.

Saturday morning Riley slept for a long time. When he awoke he ran to Hannah’s kitchen and ate the rice and chicken that the vet had prescribed. By the afternoon his eyes were opened, and most of the red had disappeared. The he played with his toys and even ran to fetch them.

My family was amazed knowing that this was the power of prayer.

By Sunday afternoon, Riley was one hundred percent normal.

When Hannah’s regular vet phoned her very disturbed about the results given to him by the emergency vet, he was surprised, really, amazed.

Truly what happened to Riley was a miracle of prayer by faithful people and an Almighty and loving God who answers them

On behalf of the Alvarez family, we would like to thank you all for praying for our baby Riley and to a great God who answers prayer.
