Its All A Matter of Your Gut!

Romans 6:9  knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, no longer dies. Death is no longer master over Him.

Eph 2:6  and raised us up together, and seated us together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus,

Christ was raised from the dead, and the Christian was co raised with Him.

In Romans 6:9, the words for “knowing that” is oida.

Oida is gut knowledge.

This is not knowledge that you go to school to gain.

Oida means that “you know, that you know, that you know.”

When you see a girl with a blue dress, you know it’s blue. No schooling required.

In your gut, you know that Christ was raised? Oh yeah, we have no problem with that!

Eph 2:6  and raised us up together, and seated us together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus,

But in your gut do you know that at the moment Christ was raised, so were you?

If you say yes, you are lying

With my head I knew that I’ve been co raised with Christ.

But for thirty six years I have not lived as such, clinging instead to, and governed by earth.

Today, this was settled in my gut.

I’ve been detached from earth’s dictates by sheer distance between it and me, because I am raised.

My life begun anew.

I am physically higher in distance above planet earth.

The laws of earth are not my governing principle.

Neither are politicians or the economy or anything else.

Sin and pain and sickness can no longer stick to to me.

I am physically above their heads so they can’t reach me with slimy fingers.

I am hovering far above the earth, looking down.

I’m living from the environment and culture of the heavens rather than the earth.

Eph 1:20  which He worked in Christ, having raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies,

Eph 2:6  and raised us up together, and seated us together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus,

God’s raising up is not the means to the end.

God raised up Christ to make Him sit.

So where did Christ end up sitting?

It’s on a throne made up of God’s glory. Every atom of it is glory.

God’s glory is more potent than all.

God’s glory is what transforms people from sinful temporal creatures, to the eternal and perfect.

Because Christ is seated, He functions from authority and rest.

This throne is physically above all demonic and angelic principalities and everything that has a name, which is everything.

Mt 25:31  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all he holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

So God raised us with Christ in order to make us sit with Him.

How does it feel to live a life seated on a throne made up of glory?

On massive cushion of glory is all that is around you.

This cushion blocks off all the stuff occurring on earth.

Everything ebbs from this throne in power, glory, authority and endless riches.

Is this you?  Is this your revelation? Is this what drives your gut?

We can go on and on.

The bottom line is that it’s all a matter of your gut.

An Angel Standing in the Sun

Re 19:17  Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the great supper of God,

How powerful is the sun?

In Revelations an angel is standing in it.

Hebrews 1:13  But of which of the angels has he said at any time, Take your seat at my right hand till I put all those who are against you under your feet?

The Christian is given a seat with Christ on His throne at his right hand.

Angels do not have this honor!

Who is ultimately more powerful, they or us?

 Philippians 3:10  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

The power belonging to a resurrection life which will last forever is greater than the power of the sun, which one day dies.

God will remove both sun and moon and His glory will be left.

Paul’s pursuit was to know the Christ in him experientially and progressively.

Secondly, was his quest to know the power belonging to Christ’s resurrection experientially and progressively.

This amazing power is gradually revealed as we obey.

It’s not what we do, but what Christ does through us.

It’s our observation of God’s resurrection power at work in us that is key to victory.

Someday our knowledge of this power will allow us to stand in the sun if it’s still there.

How much power do you have in you? Is it enough to stand in the sun?

Make it your goal to progressively and experientially know Christ’s resurrection power.

This is no easy task.

It takes time with Jesus.

Yet, very few things matter as much.

Peak Performance

Ephesians 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

Eph 2:21 In whom all the building, rightly joined together, comes to be a holy house of God in the Lord; (Bible In Basic English)

Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Eph 4:16 Through whom all the body, being rightly formed and united together, by the full working of every part, is increased to the building up of itself in love. (Bible In Basic English)

Fitly framed together” relates to the building up of any local church body through the use of people’s spiritual gifts, ministries, and callings.

Paul marvelously describes the function of the New Testament church in one fell swoop.

A local church increases, and grows, as each member within that local body supplies his or her part to the growth in accordance to the gifts and ministries, which Jesus has given to each of them. This is what Paul means in verse sixteen when he employs the term “every joint supplieth.”

Many of our churches do not adhere to Paul’s model.

Too many churches have too few ministers. There is too much regulation by leaders who prohibit the exercise of spiritual gifts and their ministries.

Likewise, there are too many complacent and passive members who do not grow in their spiritual gifts and ministries, and consequently do not carry their specific burden” of testifying to Jesus.

The result is always the same. Only part of the Lord’s fullness is manifest, only part of His glory is demonstrated, and much of the revival that should have taken place, does not come .

Paul continues; “According to the effectual working in the measure of every part” He is saying, “EVERY” member has the responsibility to work within their church at his or her “PEAK LEVEL OF SPIRIT LED PERFORMANCE”.

This requires obedience to God, and dedication to the local body. The key is not to run away to another church when things are not quite right. For church hoppers, personal growth becomes an elusive thing.

I believe that the church must be more of a school, college, and graduate school than anything else.

What Are Spiritual Gifts?

I Corinthians 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

Verse four tells us that God has given to the church an assortment of spiritual gifts.

Verse five says that God has given a variety of ministries and offices to Christians.

Verse six says that God administers His gifts and ministries in many ways, according to the person whom He works them through, and the situations in which He releases them into.

Verse seven says that spiritual gifts and or ministries have been given to every Christian, and none is exempt!

No one has the luxury of being a passive onlooker, and no one has the right to prohibit the manifestation of the Spirit through another believer.

Verse seven says that the purpose of spiritual gifts is to the manifest the Holy Spirit, which without them, would make the reality of God undetectable.

On The Mountain, God Speaks

Why is it so important to live by the voice of the Holy Spirit?

I remember a specific incident when we lived in New Mexico.

God had called us by faith to leave Miami, Florida, and move there.

We were almost penniless and I did not have a job.

My family lived in a tiny duplex between two Native American Nations, the Santo Domingo Pueblo Indians and the Cochiti Pueblo Indians.

We did not have a washing machine and would take our clothes to the laundry mat at Cochiti Pueblo.

Having no money we had accumulated nineteen loads of laundry.

We affectionately called the huge mountain of laundry in the middle of the bedroom, where we repeatedly wore dirty clothes from, “Mount Mary,” after my wife.

From babysitting one day, my wife suddenly got $20.00.

Hurriedly we went to do our laundry in Santa Fe.

That Sunday morning, we packed up our car with nineteen garbage bags of clothes and first went to our church service with plans to do laundry once it finished.

However, in the middle of the preacher’s sermon I heard the indisputable voice of the Holy Spirit say, “Leave!”

My family was sitting close to the preacher, about two rows from the front.

I was shocked that God would tell us to leave.

I immediately objected to Him, that to have six people walk out from the preacher’s sermon would be extremely embarrassing and rude.

“Lord”, I protested, “this is the most offensive thing ever!”

The voice of God came loud again; “Leave!”

I was ticked off at God.

Thoroughly humiliated, my family got up and left to the lobby, heads bowed, looking down at the floor. I felt like a dog with its tail between its legs.

Once in the foyer we were met by a forty year old man who pointed to my eight year old daughter saying “Come here little girl.”

You can imagine my fatherly reaction to have a grown man, asking my little girl to come to him.

I nodded to my daughter under my watchful eye.

As she walked towards him, he pulled out a $20.00 bill and gave it to her.

We were to find out that the nineteen loads of laundry and soap cost us 39.75!

Obedience to the Lord is far more important than all religious sacrifices, or prophecies.

Viva Mount Mary!

For God, Its Never Too Late To Start

I was in a meeting in which I was asked to pray for the numerous in the prayer line.

The power of God fell and some got slained in the Spirit.

I was hard press to find a brother who would catch.

As I got to the end of the line, I waived my hand at the recipient and the power of God pushed her back against the seats.

Sitting right smack behind was an aged man no less than in the mid-eighties.

I looked at him for help. God’s power was flowing like a river. There was no telling what would happen next.

Capturing my distressed eyes, this man help me catch those who went down.

After the meeting, I thanked and shook his hand.

I was taken aback by his happy reply.

“I have never caught a person, but look at how God used me!”

This man was so elated.

The moral of the story?

God never looks at age; He looks at a willing and hungry heart.

How magnificent is God!

How great of a mood He is in!

How funny is His atypical humor!

This man began a new facet of ministry at a suitable age of ninety.

For God, it’s never too late to start.
