Why Is The Church Accused?

Eph 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us (ACCUSATIVE NOUN CASE) with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

In the Greek, the accusative noun case is just what it says. The accusing finger points towards the object that will receive all judgment, sentence, or wrath. It’s a receptacle into where all is focused or pointed to. The accused object is the receptacle or the goal of the judgment.

If we turn this into something good, the object, placed in the accusative case, is the thing that all benefits is poured or funneled into.

The church is the entity into which all of God’s love, blessings, benefits, all that He is, and all the He wants to do, is focused into.

I call the church the receptacle of God’s funnel into which He pours all.

It’s up to us to increase our ability to receive.

His love and generosity are hyper transcendental.  It’s lavish above all limitations.

It’s limited by us and our boxed concepts. We have God, church, as matter of fact, all things in a box.

Romans 3: 27  Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through the law of faith.

Because faith is a law, we get what we believe for. If we ask from boxed thinking, God will give us from a box.

Luke 16:20  But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores, who had been placed at his gate,

21  and longing to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. And even the dogs came and would lick his sores.

Lazarus faith level was to receive crumbs from the rich man’s table and that is what he got.

Are you believing for crumbs from the Lord’s table?

Sadly, most of the church is, and is getting just that by the law of faith.

Romans 12:2  And do not fashion yourselves after this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

The purpose of renewing our minds is so that we can think without limits. So that we can receive hyper transcend tally and lavishly from a God that is such.

God is tired of boxed religion, boxed church, alas, of having Him in a box.

BREAK OUT!!

The church is the object of His love, we are the charming ones, we have been translated into kingdom of The Son of His Love, and we are His beloved.

Most healing will come as a revelation of how much He truly loves every last part of you. Where you are sick, receive His love into that very place.

You are the receptacle of His love.

You are the one to whom God’s positively accusing finger points to!

You are the receptacle of God’s massive funnel and He is always funneling into you.

RECEIVE,  RECEIVE,  RECEIVE !

America Eagerly Awaits The Revelation of the Children of God

I propose that where East Africa is under a stronghold of poverty, America is under a stronghold of distraction brought on by a need for self-entertainment, mainly through technology.

This self-entertainment is search for happiness that can only be found in God.  The former craze for Harry Potter was a craving for the supernatural, which God has naturally put in the heart of everyone. I mean, Jesus Christ, is the most supernatural being in the universe.  Hello!

In part, the church has failed to demonstrate this to America. I am guilty myself.

Wherever I preach, I see that the unchurched are more anxious to see the authentic Christ, than what the church is to demonstrate Him.

Many times, we, the church think that it’s an “us against them” war.

We think that the unchurched is our enemy, and we cower into our Christian ghetto, playing our Christianeeze lingo and delving into Christianeeze activities.

The church feels that it has to protect and isolate itself from the onslaught of the unchurched. I found this to be a lie. The onslaught is we and our imagined fears.

Many might not want the religious Christ, or the Christianezze expressions, but when you present Christ and yourself in an authentic and loving way, everybody wants to listen to what you have to say.

Mostly everyone wants a blessing, a prayer, a word of prophecy, and all want to be heard.

Many don’t understand Christ, but most are searching to connect, to witness authenticity, to relate with whole and happy people, and see the power and glory of God.

If I am not ashamed of Christ, I encounter very little rejection. People are drawn to bold and unashamed people.

The church has become a Christian ghetto and God wants us to leave it and go to the harvest field which is white unto the harvest.

We Christians needs to be so God absorbed, so God impassioned, healed, and liberated, that Christ becomes excessive through our lives, drawing people to Him. He is the most lovely and delightful of all Beings! If people would only know. That’s the job of the church, to present Him as all-powerful, wonderful, and charming.

Rom 8:19  For the creation ( America) waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

I propose to the church then, that America is aching to see the reality of the resurrected and all-powerful, all magnificent, and all beautiful Christ Jesus through the life of the believer.  Unless, we the church become intently fixated upon God, engrossed and obsessed with Him, this will not happen. The price of having Christ magnified, liberated, and resurrected through our lives, will cost the Christian everything. It’s the hardest thing, but equally the most amazingly fantastic.

Who will step up to the plate and do this, when humanity has so very, very, few good leaders to emulate and such a desperation for good role models, Christ Jesus being the ultimate one.

As a Matter of Fact, I Have Come to Enjoy the Poop!

Proverbs 14: 4  Where no oxen are, the crib is clean (from food, water and poop); but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

God is looking for good leaders more than He is for good ministers. There are many ministers and ministries. Good leaders are hard to find, though.

God is looking for problem solvers. Many will see the problem but few will get their hands dirty to solve it. If we are only looking for the success of our ministry without first becoming a good leader in it, we will miss God’s higher purpose.

The church is full of people who rightfully see the problems but will do little to solve them.

Solutions come through forgiving, relating, sharing, praying,  getting dirty in people’s poop, confronting, a willingness to also be wrong and learn, sacrificing time and resources, vulnerability, transparency,  accessibility to others, and to know people and be known by them.   This is leadership.

It’s the capacity to forgive those who have wrong you in your innocence.  It’s the ability to walk the extra mile with them in order show the  love of Christ. It’s the aptitude of demonstrating continuing patience, when they are undeserving.

Forgiving our enemy allows us to see the potential which Christ has placed in them and pray accordingly. Our prayers will bring the conviction of God upon them.

At the same time, forgiveness does not demand our becoming a floor mat for an enemy to step on.  Loving confrontation tempered with forgiveness is a must. A good leader juggles forgiveness and godly confrontation all at one time.

A good leader makes himself accessible to those who he leads. He is not the high and mighty man of God. Jesus , was a “ normal Joe” and so must we. Jesus was never too busy for people and so must I.

Many come to me, “ pastor, I know that you are busy,”. My reply is, “ if Jesus was never too busy, how can I?’

Proverbs 14: 4  Where no oxen are, the crib is clean (from food, water and poop); but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

Where there are cows, there is sure poop in the stable. If we want a program driven church where few are given a chance to grow we might not have much poop. If you want a tidy church, then don’t disciple. If you don’t care for the poop, don’t  take a chance on raising up others. Stay with your tightly controlled programs.

But if we are relationship driven and want to raise others, we must be ready for the poop to come. Revival is messy. Revival is relational. Revival involves the cattle.

Good leaders must be willing to get their hands dirty with spiritual poop. If you simply want to prophesy to the poop and stay clean you are are missing the higher calling.  If you run away from the poop without attempting to clean it up first, you are also missing God’s higher purpose.

I am risk taker with the God-given potential of those around me. Love, belongs to those who relinquish control, who pioneer, and replicate themselves into others. Love belongs to those who pass the baton and push themselves out of a job for the sake of upcoming generations.

Many will run away from the problem, but who will remain and solve it?  This is the mark of a leader.

A minister can have a ministry and gauge his or her success through the ministry, but God is not satisfied with that.

It’s impossible to accurately judge a situation without entering into relationships and spend time with the people who created it. I have discovered that I can only adequately judge a situation when I have spent real-time and involvement with the people who are in it.

It’s easy to prophesy to the problem from the outside without paying the price to get involved, get your hands dirty, and solve it. As a matter of fact, a prophecy from the outside without getting involved with those to whom you are prophesying it to, will always be “only partially correct.”

Some will complain about an person, but very few will spend time to mentor and disciple that person. This is the call of the hour.

There are others who will run from meeting to meeting or church to church looking for the greener grass, but few will change for the better what they have been called do in the first place. As my friend Dr. Lawton Smith would say, “We need less saluting and more shooting.”

As I grow older, I am convinced that healthy church growth will only occur with relationship minded people. I feel that people are tired of “churchiness” and are looking for relationships, reality, loving confrontation to their brokenness and ample forgiveness for their sins.   I am tired of meetings just for meetings sake. I think that God is as well.

As a matter of fact, I have come to enjoy the poop!
